  1. Make me an offer Gianlu!
  2. This Precision bass 1s built like a tank and plays and sounds like a dream. It has been played a lot and it shows. The bass looks great on stage but when you take a closer look you will see small dents and scratches all over the bass as the pictures show. Technically it is 100%. I bought it a few years ago and I think the pickups and pots aren't original. It also has an orange cap which is not original I think. The body, neck, tuners, pick-guard etc. are original. I have no ashtrays. Maybe I can find a thumb-rest in my drawers but can't promise that. The bass is really exceptionally good. I have never really liked the harshness that basses like this may have but this one really is as sweet, sparkling and fat as no Precision maple bass I ever played. Whether you play rock, reggae, soul or funk etc. this bass delivers. Maybe the great sound is also related to the modifications. I really don't know. I do know what I hear and feel and that is great. The bass weighs a little less that 4500 grams which isn't light but considering the period not heavy either (as you will know some are over 5000 grams) and the balance is alright. Comes with an old hard shell case that looks pretty vintage but is not original. If you have a chance come over and try the bass. I'm so confident about this one that, if you are a serious buyer and know what a Fender Precision maple is like, I will return your money if you decide to return the bass. Why selling? I do have a very nice 1960 Precision which is enough Precision bass for me. I mostly play 5 stringers and have more great basses than fingers so this is a matter of killing darlings. The Bass is located in The Netherlands. Trying out on Glockenklang/Aguilar/GR Bass amplification gear and/or shipping is possible.
  3. Very low action (G string 1mm at 22nd fret possible), 4300 grams, well balanced, bright and dynamic sounding, cuts through the mix, very allround/versatile, great condition (small superficial scratches only). This is the real Xotic-deal: not the cheaper Pro Vintage series. New price +/- €3300... if available at all! Colour: Black cherry (not brown but dark/deep red/purple-ish) Body: Ash Neck & board: Maple Frets: 22 Tuners: Hipshot Dots: Luminova (glow in the dark!) Bridge: Hipshot A style Nut: Bone Electronics: master volume (push/pull passive/active), blend, passive tone, active (famous Xotic 3 band EQ + Mid and High EQ switch). Output volume control at the back accessible through the cover plate and adjustable with small Phillips screwdriver. Pickups: Xotic JB Single Coil Pickups. Bass is fitted with HRI-system which means no hum! This quite unique 'solution' is comparable with Alembic Series I/II dummy pickup! HRI can be turned off, but you won't! Case: Nice original Xotic hard-bag Trades considered. Cash preferred. More information or pictures on request! Thanks for looking. Willem
  4. No offense but I prefer 19-20mm spacing on any bass.
  5. Okay thanks.... too small for me. Good luck!
  6. What is the string spacing?
  7. BUMP! Make me an offer I won't refuse... as I couldn't couldn't resist buying back another beloved old bass of mine.....cash is king!
  8. So much love received including decent and less decent offers, but the AJ5 is still here desperately waiting to be loved by someone who appreciates the value of a Fodera rather than being interested but saying they are overrated at the same time... It is like wanting a Bugatti for the price of a BMW... Great cars, BMW's but no Bugatti..😉
  9. Hi Vittoriosciascia, thanks for your interest and proposal but sorry, I'm not interested in a Laurus SL20.
  10. Hello Auslander, scale is 35inch (what the 'reach' is concerned the playability is like a regular 34incher, really). I have no soundclips off the shelf but I am more than willing to record and share some if you are interested. The bass sounds awesome, a fat, full sound with a authority. Ofcousre a lot depends on strings, amplification and... your hands!
  11. Alleva with Maple board, so that's LM I guess... Ken Smith BT6 Ebony top (if not crazy heavy...)Does it have 18mm or 19mm string spacing?
  12. It was kind of an acquired taste for me too but this shape is very comfortable, both sitting and standing up.
  13. Selling or trading my beautiful Fodera AJ5 Elite built in 2003: alder body, 3 piece maple neck, walnut crotch top, dark ebony board, abalone inlays, +/-19mm, about 4300 grams, well balanced etc. Played but optically in great condition (there is one little spot caused by a loose straplock in the OHSC, I have more pics to show this) and technically 100%. The bass has been fitted with Bartolini dual coils. It is done very professionally with pieces of ebony at the sides to compensate for the less wide pick ups. This is fully reversable so if desired Duncans could be ordered at Fodera and put back in. With the Barts the AJ5 sounds full, fat and with strong low mids: all with grace and authority. Very ‘AJ’ I would say. Some video demo’s are available on request. PM for more info. Cash preferred. For trade I would consider 5 string Alleva Coppolo or Sadowsky most preferably with a maple board. I might also consider Alembic series I/II or a 6 string Fodera (AJ6?) or a great Fender Jazz fretless or Fender vintage Jazz or P.
  14. Reluctantly I’m considering to sell my lovely black cherry Alleva Coppolo Resurrection 5 in played but superb condition. PM for more pics or info. Built in 2013 / 34inch / +/-19 mm string spacing at the bridge / below 4500 grams on my kitchen scale / alder body / maple neck / dark rosewood board (a species very close to Dalbergia Negra)/ Alleva Coppolo homegrown Single Coil pickups in ‘60 position / Nitro black cherry finish / bone nut / vintage small frets / passive (!)
  15. Has the nut been adjusted to the different height of the frets compared to fretless?
  16. Tell the wife and kids that they don't have to worry about packing for summer holidays!
  17. Hi Mojo, never regret and look forward is my motto. Then again: I’m a player, no collectir and I have too many great basses, all of them I bought or traded with my heart (and some money). I feel blessed to have the luxury to let go of such a beautiful instrument.
  18. Much love received but still for sale!
