  1. Well Kevin Scott and Ian Allison Martin are both currently on the road with some super secret MXR pedal so that pricing might come in handy.

But as I say, best of luck 😅

    To us both

I have sold the QC to a friend for a bit less than I could've if I had wanted to list it in various places. I lent it to him and he loved it so it was an easy sale.

I'm not going for an Anagram though. I've decided to go mostly Analog and down the MXR and Dunlop route, and considering  eventually maybe a HX One Stomp for those one off pedals I like having more for fun or for an extra bit of drive.

This way I'll have a fair bit if cash left over from the QC sale.

Best of luck with that, I’m doing the same and my small board of just the essentials is like 10 pedal currently 😅

  3. This week, the ZeroFive Audio Lowrider and the Sushibox FX Neptunium. Pointless in a different way to my 442 comparison where both pedals were discontinued around 10 years ago, both of these are out of stock (almost constantly), produced in very small batches when they are produced and then subject to import duties and shipping from France or the US.

But anyway, maybe this will kill your gas for either of them.

Was going to just make a post for this video, but best to have a thread lumping these all together as I think I’ll be making more of them.

IIRC, marco said one is coming in that interview with IMA

Oh I know, but currently it doesn’t and we have no timeline for when it will.

Bluetooth he said I hope I’m not too optimistic but it should be a couple of months.

Audio over USB was pulled last minute before release, but it’s had 3? firmware updates so far and it’s not there.

I’m sure it will all be there, just we don’t know when and if you NEED one of these features you should hold off getting it for now imho

So would the exercise be a way of getting some cash back but maintaining functionality you need, or are you looking for something else from the Anagram?

I've snapped back to my senses somewhat and realised that the QC does everything I need and risking a switch to a lesser unit on the basis of its size and bass specificness would be a bit of a risk.  I'd definitely buy the Anagram out of the two if I didn't have the QC, but i've not seen anything yet that would justify a switch.  I'm more just frustrated at the lack of bass focus with the QC.

I’d echo some of Kev’s sentiments, at least to the point of waiting for some used Anagrams to popup. If you could get £1100-£1200 for the QC and then could pickup an Anagram closer to £700, that’s a decent chunk of change to free up. If you’re paying the £899, as much as I disliked many elements of the QC I’d say it’s not worth it.

Very much considering selling my QC, if I can get the right price.

I use a patch with a compressor, drive, delay and a phaser for most live stuff I do and then a patch that I use fro practice. It does seem crazy to me that I'm using so little of its potential.

It does sound amazing though but I watched the IMA video and some of the things he mentioned were things I felt about the QC.

Anagram doesn’t have a phaser currently, just an FYI

  7. Posted this over at TB and wanted to share here (because I’m a narcissist and need the attention).

I managed to pick up a Blue 442 and I’d been hunting around for a 442 for ages, then as soon as I got it I found a Red one.

Soon as they both arrived I put them up for sale because that’s what I do.

But thanks to @fretmeister I finally figured out an easy way to record pedal demos.

All the old audio demos are long since removed and I didn’t want to bump a zombie thread from 2013.

I mean I must have got my first one of these around 2008, the Red model or Bass mod was first made for me. In my head this has always been the best filter I’ve ever tried, with the caveat I’ve not used any filters in the past ten years and I don’t really like huge peaky filters.

So I tried the guitar version once, thought oh I love that, got in touch with Tone Factor (precursor to Mojo Hand) and they mentioned they could do a bass mod for me. So the first one I owned was modded in this way, over time they eventually added it as a standard item and did a sub brand with the Boomstick Bottom Feeder.

Having done this demo…. I think the guitar one might be better, but for such a small and simple mod (couple of cap changes) they sound quite different. I could easy grab either I think depending on my mood that day.

Mainly this has come out of me wanting to do some demos and this one seemingly coming out quite nice, apart from the lighting is terrible and the graphics are cheesy.

Signal chain is Rickenbacker 4003 with the IMA Signature Super Polished La Bella’s (put on about 10 minutes before I recorded this), into the Red, into the Blue, into the Darkglass Element running their Berg 6x10 IR (which is my favourite when running synths and heavy effect sounds), LPF boosted and HPF cut (heavily).

Anyway, gave me something to do after work, enjoy and let me know if I should stick to the day job and sell anything resembling a pedal or bass.

Oh and the reason that this is pointless is these have been discontinued for at least 10 years, took me months to find either of them, sure another has popped up since and they’re like buses but 🤷‍♂️ maybe it’s a good indication of what the current Dod 440 is since that’s what these are based on (vintage model).

I've found a free camera app with audio routing options! It's the Blackmagic Camera

    https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/blackmagiccamera

I haven't tried it with my Audient yet as I've only just found it, but it has controls for mono, dual mono, stereo etc etc so I'm hoping this will make things easier.

It also has a nice feature, that as I have 2 iOS devices I can use one as the camera and the other as a monitor and control unit. My iPad is a lot newer than my phone and has a much better main camera but of course it points the wrong way if I need to see the screen. Now I can use the better camera, and use the iPhone to control it and check framing.

Going to plug it all in after work as see how it goes.

You are my new favourite person, I finally have a simple and easy workflow for pedal demos.

Thank you thank you thank you.

  9. I mean it would certainly do it. Currently I’m a little biased as I’m enjoying having a cab sim on my DI, which I just think sweetens any and every pedal up, so I’d pair it with a Palmer DI with it’s cab sims, or the Darkglass Element (my current fav).

But you won’t have any issues with it, it’s got enough power to drive a line into a passive or active di, you’ve got great tone shaping, it’s a smooth motowny sound from the get go (which all Beta’s are famous for)

You might want to ask your question here as I’m clearly trying to sell you on it:

If I didn’t have a JHS Punchline (and a JF Capo) I wouldn’t be selling this.

  10. I think they’re the same, Cioks do one and then there is the light grey Eventide branded model.

I have 2 Cioks 4’s, I tend to power them with usb c and then power the second off one of the outs on the first but you can power it with literally any old adaptor you have lying around.

  11. So, I basically only play Rickenbackers these days, not that I have loads. I have a Fireglo 4003 from 1999 that is my main bass until I started travelling.

Last year I bought a 2009 4003 in Mapleglo, which after Fireglo is my favourite colour.

Then, bored, late at night I came across a 1984 Mapleglo 4003 on Guitar Center.

I don’t know what more to say, it’s basically the same bass but older. Neck shape is different but every Ric has always been different for me.

    It’s incredible

Ian Martin Allison has just put a lengthy video (and interview) together on Instagram that's worth a watch.

    https://www.instagram.com/reel/DJDOZ1jO_wW/

I was hoping he was going to weigh in on the Anagram. I've been a Helix user for years, and his presets are the only ones I've ever paid for, so I was intrigued to see what he could do with the Anagram. Usefully, he's recreated some of his Helix presets on the Anagram.

If I wasn’t sold before 😂 I sure as hell am now

FOMO is strong with this one, but i echo that running both wouldn't really be a great solution to get behind.  Cutting down to it could be anytime option, but don't know what the used market is like for QCs.  I'd want a good chunk of money spare at the end of it.

QC’s go for £1100 - £1200 I find second hand, the sweetener is how much extra stuff can you get for that like a DC7 and Solo 18. But you will get the occasional £900 bargain.

I ended up going open box because I wanted the warranty on something so expensive and the ability to send it back but some of the deals I saw were near new price.

If you can list in a dip in supply when Thomann and Guitar Guitar don’t have any in stock you can really ask a premium.

I’m looking forward to these Anagrams cropping up for 600-700, that’s a real sweet spot for something so powerful.
