It's about a 30minute walk from Stockport Train Station but I'm sure a few BC'ers can arrange to meet there and come together maybe grab a cab which will take 5 minutes if that
I'm deffinitely going. I don't know if that'll help the cause or not, but it'd be nice to see some more enthusiasm on this thread!
I think you've put them off

Puts the 100w Marshall on the otherside of the room in tears, the rest of the guys are trying to find the money to get themselves Matamps

I'm shouting because I've just come home from playing through this beast. So what we have here is the brand new Matamp Eighty 8x10 and matching 4x10 (Forty?) in red tolex with stainless steel grill, the 8x10 is an 8x10 and not 2 4x10's with a single piece of wood between them they have ports internally for the sound to pass between the 2x10's same in the 4x10 except the 4x10 is also rear ported and the 8x10 is sealed so the 4x10 is as loud as the 8x10 and these things just cream my Ashdown ABM 8x10 and 2 EA CXL112's. I can't imagine anything louder than this or what the hell you would use it for. The 8x10 has a switch on the back so it can be wired in stereo or mono so I'm using the Mesa 400+ into the 4x10 at 8ohms (The cab is switchable to 2ohms so it is an all round stand alone) which is slaved into the Mesa Strategy 400 where I send the left and right to the top and bottom of the 8x10 again at 8ohms each so the transformers aren't working hard at all This was such an amazing tone and so FREAKIN LOUD I ended up unplugging it and just using the 8x10 and 400+ but the tone was just perfect I'm finally happy with my sound and I have all the headroom I'll ever need for the bigger shows. I should be getting a 3u drawer for the rack sometime this week which will fill it except I just need like 1 1/2u rack blanking plates to fill the bit between the 400+ and the Strategy. So yeah wanted to share and show off so expect this in all the Rigs of Doom etc threads
The drive channels on the new Matamp green is epic. The clean. . . not so much for me.
I like the clean but it's a lot smoother than what I normally like and as we both know it isn't loud enough for me but it is a beast of an amp
-
Have everyone lost interest in doing this then? Week tomorrow PM me for address details

Let me know what you find you have I might be interested in a few things but will tell you what the fair price on them all is. The old tube screamers are odd toys people still buy the old hissy, bad bypass versions when far superior clones and boutique ones are available at a fraction of the price your market for them is guitarists and the best place to sell stuff like that is www.thegearpage.com but you have to be a supporting member and be willing to ship to america else you take your chances on ebay and one day you might get £300 for it next you might get £50 But like I said let me know what you've got and I'll see what info I can provide on them -
Bump to remind everyone. PM if you plan on attending and I'll shoot you back the address adn my phone number. Cheers

Dave Lunt fixed a broken tube amp of mine in a few hours and it's from the 70's so I don't think he'll have an issue with touching a trace elliot
-
Also have you checked the fuse in the amp?
I'd always use Dave Lunt in Stockport - 0161 432 9698
+alot from me Has repaired and serviced about 2k worth of gear for me. Rayman do you need to borrow an amp for anything important over the next week or so?
-
I'll take mine apart in the next few days and tell you what it says I could do with some myself thinking about it. Cheers
-
Just wondering if anyone is using one and if they have any problems with it? I'm very tempted to get a rack one but last wireless I had got my tube amps hummed when they were close.
