  1. Not in the flesh but they have been an option for a while now. All about getting around Rosewood CITES. If I remember Hölger speaking about it correctly it sits between Rosewood and Ebony in how it sounds, I may be wrong though. Thumbs up to Sandberg though, a truly great company
  2. So far dUg and a 12 string in his setting is pretty mint
  3. Sound designed in the 80s played on an 80s bass perfect match
  4. It’s a work in progress could well have been ear fatigue after hammering it out loud at home! i know I should probably cut my lows to boost the high end according to how it works, but I found that combination, with my amp seemed to work, and worked best with my Hohner B2ADB active on with bass boost and everything wide open, as opposed to my passive jazzes, which were more polite and needed way more digging in. It still needs way more of a journey to get right, but it’s so good with the Hohner I am considering changing its pick ups to EMG HB’s
  5. Current settings - sounding good.
  6. So mine came....... Its miniscule! For me it needs a lot of tweak time to get it right and the controls interact with each other all over the place. I am starting from dUg settings and seeing where it goes, already backing off his compression. To get the best out of this IMO so far, you need a big signal push up front, and re-EQ. Seems to like an active bass better if you want a grind sound Early days yet
  7. I have no idea yet if mine has arrived, but I haven’t had the what is this? Message from Mrs Cuzzie either so we will see I think it requires the Supertwin when I get it though
  8. And Yammy have Helix too. Amps and cabs to go with your wireless device and pedal board, oh and of course bass!
  9. Good work Mr Wolverine. I looked at Wounded Paw very seriously a few years ago, (i was also lookinginto a dUg amp) but didn’t bite, there is a distributor in Exeter I think, but it was a non returnable deposit so I didn’t go for it to my shame. I took a gamble on something else and again I think I have the only one in the country of mine, and that works for me. I have been privileged to hear clips of this thing and it is brutal, but also eloquent. A good signature amp this is, nice work buddy
  10. Nice work and a great score!!! no pics no bass!!
  11. Form Factor Bi1000 400w or 1000w true RMS. Powerful and loud as hell with a tonne of bass on tap and an intelligent easy to use EQ. Version 2 is out in about a month where they should have tinkered the issue where the DI was affected by the master volume (DG M900 also does this so its not poor manufacture!) and thus is not anymore. https://formfactorpro.com/collections/bass-amps here it is on a Supertwin. Good luck on your quest!
  12. No worries As ever knowing is better than it knowing! Cheers Tony the Tiger
  13. @tonyxtiger please clarify!!!!
  14. Above is good advice I did the change with my 4 string, only nut that needed slight widening was the ‘G’ string
  15. New Schecter C4 Apocalypse has also a baritone version which is designed to be String BEAD if it’s your thing https://www.schecterguitars.com/bass/c-4-apocalypse-1655-detail
  16. i am pretty sure the incognito version has a touch of drive
  17. DUg works anywhere. Can it be Friday today please
  18. I will not disagree, he is a big old unit!
  19. That’s the chap I quite like him, not afraid to call a spade a spade
  20. Crikey, think they are a few hot and bothered people in the sun, wish I had never used the tyre analogy now! Although as one of the guys after me said, cheap doesn’t necessarily mean rubbish, so maybe we can cross the road safely using the green cross code, in the knowledge peoples tyres are OK.....
  21. @Al Krow I agreed with everything you said until you mentioned playing through your MB Combo.....
  22. @chris_b makes a lot of sense to me, and I use DR’s too
  23. This is gold dust Well done and I hope it keeps going for you
  24. Bunkum So the poster about this wanted to spend £50-70 on a set of strings he/she wanted and mentioned nothing about changing them every 6 months. Being flatwounds one would also assume a longer life than 6 months. I think you have taken the argument somewhere it wasn’t going to justify not going there if that makes sense?! Should we then say no point in Buying an American Fender when having a Mex one will not make a difference in the gigs, gig fees, appreciation etc. Or why are you buying a premium Japanese brand when a cheap Chinese copy will do the same. Flea changes his strings every gig, James Jameson notoriously didn’t bother, Joe bloggs does it every now and again Mrs Miggins does it a bit more often......., it’s all silly comparisons to say what to do and invent a reason for it. Get the strings you want at the price point you want to deliver the sound you want, know their lifespan, change them as required by you.
