  1. Fancied fitting a white pearloid PG to my VJ74 Re-ish, but since you cant buy an original VJ74 item , not that i've found anyway, i'm wondering if yer bog standard Fender ones fit. I guess this maybe a minefield because of slight discrepancies, and there are many JB's under the Fender name. It might only be answered by someone who has owned a VJ74 Re-ish and changed the pickguard
  2. Did anyone catch him on Graham Norton singing the track "light " ? I never found him on Norton's show but did find one live from the states. What a fabulous voice and lovely twanging on that Gibson
  3. I dont think so. They would have informed me of damage had it arrived like that. They had told me in advance they wont be liable for any damage when i sent it back. And the fact that when i reported the damage today, the response was an apology, and advice that they would be collecting it again. I dont mind a an electrical repair, but i'm not in any way going to accept any form of repair on this now. because its pretty worthless
  4. They've been excellent with communication, answering the same day. I wasnt that impressed with any damage incurred by the courier being my fault, even if i had packed it properly for such events, which i did. Ironic that it was damaged when they sent it back.
  5. It does, but not a mark on the outer packaging. Strange, as the damage is on at least 2 corners , one of the sides and the front panel
  6. Aye, i was trying to get ahead of the game just in case. Funnily, when they first told me they were collecting for the eletrical fault, they arranged the courier, and said if i didnt pack it properly, they wouldnt be liable for damage. Fair enough, but i said once it's out of my hands, i can't be responsible for any courier lobbing this about and wrecking it, which can happen even with adequate packing. They told me, no, if it arrives with damage it will be my fault. Ironic that they sent it back and it was damaged by the courier.
  7. Ok, the guy i've been dealing with has replied and is having it collected. I must say, they do reply very quickly and have done since this started a week or so ago. So, praise for their communication. I'm just thinking ahead regards where i stand, just in case they do an about turn.
  8. Yes, i guess that is the case, and of course i cannot accept damage. Here's the photos i took a few minutes ago after unwrapping
  9. I havent plugged the combo in, so dont know if the electrical repair has been sorted. I dont want to touch the thing so i can truthfully say all i did was unpack it. I will refer to those acts if i need to, thanks Jakester It was these people, through Ebay https://www.hwaudio.co.uk/
  10. That sounds like an option - i may do that depending on what the seller says.
  11. From a large shop, Bolton
  12. Bought a brand new combo about 5 months ago, everything fine till one day it went awol with a loud humming, even with no bass connected and amp volume on nought. Contacted seller ( not manufacturer ) and they had it collected and sorted. Came back today with a load of outer damage, which i photo'd and sent to seller. The damage was only evident after unpacking, and there was no signs of damage to the box. Suspicious me thinks they've sent me a different combo to the one i sent back for an electrical repair. I didnt mind getting the electrical repair done, and i believe the legal side of things say that you must give them a chance to put things right, which i have done. But i will not accept damage to the combo's wooden cab exterior, which is cracked, split and dented and it shows. I have not received a reply yet, because its only just happened, and have to wait for seller to answer. Meanwhile, its past Paypal's 180 days so in the event of them trying to fight this by blaming me or whatever, what to do next ? Not sure if the Bank can help after this amount of time. If they try to fob me off, what's my next step ...
  13. What type of bricks did you fit, John ?
  14. Having trouble finding a pair of these in white without pole piece cutouts. At least not in the UK Black closed covers no problem, but no whites ??
  15. I'd steer clear of that bass whatever it is. He's either got a shill account or getting friends to bid it up, hence the dubious actions on his behalf
  16. I've had good service from many companies, but the worst was Bass Direct by a long long way, over a bass i left with them on a commision sale. The bass went missing, ( told it was being repaired ??? It wasnt faulty when i dropped it off ) and still to this day has not reappeared for sale. I got told a tissue of lies, and finally got some money , not the full amount we agreed on either, after serveral months and a legal threat. Where the bass is today is still a mystery
  17. That's reminded me that i must get on with some ironing
  18. Havent been to Bas since 2012, and that was a funeral, but yup, over half my extended family still live there. Ugh
  19. Blimey - i got a reply
  20. Yes, i did the same. But since the cancellation was done in March for the April gig, according to See Tickets, they will contact us. 7 months on i've heard nothing from them, but as you say, i've done the silly automated BS on their website. I did it months ago though
  21. My family are still in Basildon and i have it on good authority that Harmony no longer exists. I thinks it's a car park now
  22. I tried that, and this is what i got on their messaging system .. the event was cancelled months ago, and i heard nothing.
  23. I didnt have any luck with See Tickets, even the April 29th 2020 was cancelled. I couldnt get in touch with them, and had to contact the band's FB page and found out it was rescheduled for May 2021. If anyone bought their tickets form the same agent, and got their money back, let me know. I'd heard that if the gig was rescheduled, there would be no refunds. ? There's no phone number for them. Cunning. They have a silly web messaging system thats a right pain to use. I guess that helps to avoid refunds. I'll try Paypal i guess
  24. I would say the same if Jagger Richards and Watts left the Stones. There has to be some semblance of the the band left to still be calling it by the original name. I wonder if it comes down to the fact that if no one owns the name, then its ok ?
