1. Ashdown should be able to supply a sleeve, or you could build one pretty easily
2.
Is the 2x10 an abm210t? Cause if it is its rated at 350w
The neo drivers that the OP states are fitted in the cab are rated at 250W each. 250W x 2 = 500W
3.
If you've used lemon oil to clean the board, I'd put the old strings back on for a few days at least. Some say that the residual oil gunks-up new strings so it's best to let the old set take up the larger part of any oil that remains on the board.
That's why you should leave the strings off for a few hours before wiping off the residue
4. You can check with a multimeter (if you own one), are there definitely no markings on the pot casing?
5. You could buy the most powerful amp in the world and not be heard. Depends just as much on the speakers.
6. Don't pop, they will heal more by Saturday than if you pop them.
7.
No chance. Life's too short. Sorry.
Send via courier and wait in for courier to collect... Collection by buyer and wait in for buyer to collect...
8. My bass buzzes a bit above the 12th fret because the action is so low. It doesn't come through the amp so it doesn't bother me.
9. 575W into an 8x10 will be LOUD
10. Individual levels and then usually a song not on the set list
11.
Checkout OBBM, a great guy with great cables
+1, excellent cables and service.
12. Paid quickly, good communication, no problems. Great guy to deal with.
13. Precisely the reason I send everything recorded when selling on eBay. I hope you get this sorted OK.
14.
My personal eBay feedback is >300 @ 100%, but I've virtually stopped using eBay over the last six months. It's a shame. For a few years it really was "a community" and a nice place to do business.
+1000 10% final value fees paypal fees and "you can only offer paypal as payment for this item" "seller can only leave positive feedback" etc...
15.
'Tommy the Cat' is great fun to play-especially the 'Rhinoplasty' version
+1, and the Antipop album Currently: Faith No More "The Gentle Art of Making Enemies" Loads of heavy downtuned stuff, Kyuss/QOTSA Everything by The Jesus Lizard
16.
There might be original material you're sick of playing.
The "new name and musical direction" that quickly turned back into the old name and songs...
17. In a band in the past two really dull songs: Cream - Sunshine of your love Rainbow - Since you've been gone zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
18.
This idea of using super thick cable so that it will "take the power" is all in the mind of the beholder... ... you only have to look at the thickness of the wire used in the voicecoil itself to see how thick that needs to be - and that has to "take the power" too. As others have said, for the few feet of wire within the cab, wires pulled out from flexible mains cables is perfectly adequate. Alan
The voice coil is a different animal, otherwise we'd all be using .01" diameter speaker cables. They might get a bit warm though
19.
Use the cable I mentioned in the earlier post you won't find anything cheaper, you can strip off the outer sheath when wiring individual drivers inside a cab if you prefer, mike b
For the sake of a few pence I'd much rather use a high quality cable, made for this application that I know can easily withstand the power.
20.
That's more or less the same as 79-strand - 2.5mm flex. Because of the short lengths involved, you probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference between this and .75mm cable. But if you're going to do a job, you might as well do it properly and 1.5mm or 2.5mm figure 8 cable is the right stuff for the job and will also cost only pennies more than the thinner stuff. Twin core mains flex is perfectly OK as long as it's thick enough - it doesn't have to be 'speaker cable'. That Maplin cable is a bit pricey, by the way.
Yeah, it's gone up in price since I last bought it.
21. This stuff is pretty good, and almost identical to what is in my standard Schroeder cab: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?moduleno=97993
22. Just been helping out one of my friends with a 1963 Hofner 500/1 "Beatles" bass, all original with case that her mother-in-law was throwing on the tip...
23. How did you make the whammy handle at the headstock? Any close up pics?
24. 5A should do it.
