  1. Well done on persevering on this amp. I love to read about people deciding to get suck in with repairing things instead of disposing. Glad it turned out well for you so far. Re: he issues you describe, have you confirmed the reverb tank is operational? I mean in terms of a basic continuity test.
  2. I wondered if you'd done something on them. Excellent!
  3. I posted a YT link to the Reynolds Girls 'I'd Rather Jack', but thought better of it. No-one needs that.
  4. I've already expressed at length how I think there are great basses, and I am a fan. Had I the cash right now, I'd be snappping off your hand for one of your cut price Cuntour S's. However I now cannot unsee that the headstock reminds me of Mr Greedy:
  5. Whereas I was wondering what a 75 foot Fretless P Neck looked like...
  6. Furher, that page says alternative DSP settings can be downloaded to suit - Ah, just twigged the word 'factory'.
  7. In your original post alone: Seriously Well Back and Forth Back and The Fourth Around The Houses Off On Tangents On/Off Tangents On Tangents Tangents Don't Like The Innuendo Factor Mirth Mirth Was Explained
  8. Helix...? He did say cost conscious! Mr Barefaced recommends the FR800 for Bass Guitar, so there's no harm being made here - http://barefacedbass.com/product-range/FR800.htm Strikes me that most Bass DI pedals would do the trick here - so I'd have thought the BDI21 would have cut the mustard. If not, perhaps a different DI pedal?
  9. As was I Paul, sorry. S'funny this writing down sarky comments malarkey...!
  10. So what do women bass players do, Paul...? Pray tell.
  11. Ah, I guess to make sure there's nothing left in it. This seems like a crappy way to spend a Wednesday night. On the bright side, I'd wager this'll mean no longer than a 2 week bass lay-off.
  12. Not an expert on this bass, but I'd wager on the back of the neck plate, like a Matsomoku. There looks to be a stamping on it in your picture.
  13. Hang on in there, Quatsch! You could always play Scrabble on your phone.... Ah. Maybe not.
  14. Not meaning to derail the topic, but the problem of faked MCBs and RCDs making their way into people's homes is genuinely alarming.
  15. I liked the idea of the BT aux in, but you're quite right - I don't think it's at the point of running the bass through just yet!
  16. BT performance issues depend hugely on what protocol is being used, and what version of BT. It's now on 4.2... Not sure what this thing runs on, as the details are not there on the site.
  17. Yes, I meant to say that I thought two K212s was a bit much for a pub gig.
  18. I've had a good play through the K212 when they came out. They look very cool, but sound so-so, to me. I wasn't a fan of the drivers. I felt like they lacked a bit of sparkle. Obviously this could also be something to do with the cab design. I should point out at this stage that I've since discovered that I'm not the biggest Neo driver fan anyway.
  19. Fair doos @Al Krow, I shall let you guys get at it, then. However, before I sidle away, I thought I'd share the below, which has cleverly incorporated Bluetooth instead of an aux in. Not bank breaking either. Might make for a cool home setup. This is one flavour, there are others available. http://www.joyoeffectpedals.co.uk/joyo-guitar-amplifiers/tube-valve-amplifier/VIVO-Bantamp
  20. No, I don't think that's true - it's about product focus. FWIW, I don't personally think a headphone amp and a DI pedal are really in the same area - I would prefer a decent sounding DI/EQ pedal and a separate headphone amp for home/practice. It's the whole 'do one job well' philosophy.
