Thanks again, very helpful. I've used Logic and I do like it, so I'm probably going to stick with it, it's just the interface that I need to sort out. What's something like this used for ?. http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/Delta44-main.html I've seen this listed on Steve Lawsons albums, as something he's used.
I cant remember...but i think its just Audio...no midi.. If you go down the Logic route... Consider the extra outlay and go for RME Interfaces... Fantastic drivers , Near zero latency the actually does what it says... And Fantastic Converters....for great sound quality... Plus with Logic , every thing is there in the Box.. And now the Price has come down... great.. Garry
Do it logically and sequentially, or you may end up chasing your ar5e for ever and swapping basses like Beedster (no offence meant bud!)
Lol..... Reminds me ..when i used to teach From Home... One Guy was going through High end Basses and Amps Like the clappers..[Rich Family] Every couple of weeks something new....and always sounding s***e... With a very very no action... He then went crusing with a band for 18 months [4 hours playing every night] Then when i next bumped into him...he had a 70's Jazz with a really high action.. And he had a really good sound...and had got really good articulation... Constant playing made his left hand fingers really strong.. Garry -

Could just be The Action is a Tad Low.. I remember that sort of thing used to drive me crazy.... Until i was having lessons with a then BBC tv Player... He got me to take the Action up...[alot] I hated this at first..impossible to slap [Wrong approach.. ] But with constant Practise ..me old Fingers got stronger and i was away...Slapping and all. I just hate any noise...and it really shows up when you are DI ing or in the Studio... And have no time to F*** around with EQ etc.. But everyone has a different touch...so you could also be digging in to much for the action you have... As pointed out above...the Gary Willis link is a great start. Garry -
Did you ever hear about a former guitarist called Billy (his surname escapes me but he moved to my home town in NZ and never gave anyone a chance to forget he was ex-Boney M. Wanted to set up his own world class recording studio but, as was the case with many over ambitious immigrants, it died on its feet due to sheer apathy from the rest of the industry because he charged international rates too!) Nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnice!
Steve... Dont remember him...there was a Guitarist called Bobby at some time.. In Fact this Summer i was working in Berlin for the Producer [Frank Farion] who pretty much wrote and produced all the Boney M stuff [apart from a couple of covers] .He was really Boney M. I will email him For Billy's second name.. [Was he English..?] Garry
To be fair all the cases everyone uses are the same. They may have GB or Shuker on the top but they have Hiscox on the side.
Black Cat are another company doing the exact case..... All these cases are fine for Car travel... But i still think they could all do better with the catches , hinges and locks.. Garry
