5. Hi Everyone, i recently aquired a euro spector 4 in a trade just was thinking of maybe upgrading the preamp and just wonderd about the possibilities? Any ideas its an old one so i think its the pre amp before the tone pump. im gonna get a hipshot detuner on it ,and maybe get some gold knobs (to match the hardware) Kindest regrds ziggy/john.
6.
The neck profile is similar to a Jazz, not as thick/chunky as a Precision or an old Stingray. At the moment the action is set medium-low, and that should suit most people. If you want it even lower you'll have to tweak the trussrod, but I haven't got the correct tool size (Allen key at the nut). Access to small frets (in terms of cutaway shape of the lower horn) is easy, although the thickness of neck+pocket increases once the bolts area is reached. The fingerstyle tone is warm, typical of the Bartolini MK1, and the bass has somewhat a certain "woodyness" when played unplugged. You can also dial in with the 3-eq. The slap is modern, and the slap switch (which kicks in a prefixed eq setting which overrides the other eq ontrols) is brighter (although not harsh) and is not too scooped, it seems like it retained some mids. If you do not like the slap preset, just switch back to the normal eq use. I will include in the sale the bottle of DUNLOP 65 lemon oil fretboard conditioner with applicator.
ta guv , pmd
7. hi everyone up for trade is my ostinato jazz 4, emg pups, 18volt, case exellent/mint condish ,agy 2 band, ash body, olive wood top(i think), birds eye maple neck, rosewood board, recently set up by gallery. i recently got a custom built jazz5 that does it for me now so looking for a different 4. let me know. kindest regards ziggy, john.
8. Hi Guv, just a few questions , has it a shallow neck profile, Good action, and is the acess to the top frets easy? is it good for slap and fingerstyle? kindest regards ziggy.
9. Hi all, I got a trace elliot gp12smx ra400 head/power/pre together, but i have to link my cabs in a chain, i dont play big venues etc and usually just use my 4x10 but wana go down separate pre/power route. so i was just wondering does a power amp just power the signal it reicieves or do certain power amps coulour the sound from the pre? are power amps that special or is it just the amount of power you receive that makes them different in price quality etc. I want to go down the separate route so as i can power the two cabs individually. oh and just on a side note are two x10 trace cabs as good as a 4x10?(rated at the same watts). any thoughts (honest as you like) please. kindest regards ziggy.
