I'm not a massive metal fan, mainly due to the vocals. I love the musicality of metal, I really enjoy instrument metal, but as soon as some one starts screaming I remember it's not for me.
Screaming may be not your cup of tea, but some vocalists in metal are just fenomenal, Bruce Dickinson, Ronnie James Dio R.I.P., Michael Kiske, Lemmy, Bon Scott ( sort of metal). These cannot be matched by Simon Cowells manufactured horse stinky poo

As a Maiden fan I would also listen to Napalm Death, Cannibal Corpse, Death, Obituary and the list goes on. This was in late 80s early 90's due to my friends different taste in music and influence. Never owned a tape, it was usually at someone else's house.
Although what I consider heavy stuff to my comfortable listening are old Metallica, Anthrax, Slayer, Sepultura...
Somehow , I never get hooked on Slipknot or like bands...
Apart from Maiden , heavier/ faster stuff I sometimes dipped in were Annihilator, Accept, Running Wild.
I just love 80' s metal and even 80' pop I must admit

This one? Starts about 0-51 for the riff. Trigger Happy had some great tunes on it. I still miss the fighting dogs.
Faithless
, that's it.

Well done to Dad, sort of reminds me the tune from Trigger Happy TV series, secret agent/ spooky.

No, just a keys player. Most folk can do plenty with either hand, really, if they decide to just 'do it'. There are few left-handed pianos, so keys players, whether righty or lefty, just do the work and get the results. Same as sax players, cellists, flautists... In fact most musicians.
Bagpipes?

Correct. Ray Manzarek took care of business on keys with his left hand.
He was a lefty?

The Doors- Cant stand them.
This.. no place on basschat, they don't even have a bass player?

I'm not in a band, but whenever I see a pub gig the guitar players tend to fiddle with their pedalboards more than with guitar neck. I noticed the same with bass players too.

It depends, sound technician role is more advanced to technician.
Sound person doesn't sound good.

After few reviews and appaling response from IK Multimedia I am as likely to upgrade to Amplitube 5 as I'm likely to become an OASIS fan!

I recently purchased a very good condition drum kit, and I am having the dilemma whether to cut or not a port hole. The main reason for this is to record (attempt) my own drums. Would this significantly improve the kick bass tone. Although I am not experienced in this filed , I know that lots of it comes down to tuning, mic placement, room etc.

original by me
@Erax Sound has brought my song into a new dimension, better clarity, guitars have time to breathe, the hi hat came to life. Now I just need to play in tune etc etc.: D

Oh dear. I feel my goose is cooked on the @Dad3353 front.
I love electronic music as I grew up in early 90s Scotland listening to rave bands. It's very rare I get a chance to mix it funnily enough. Probably because I don't track it.
Maybe the 3rd mix might be a mix or genre that is okay? 😋
We await @SH73 uploading.
I wait for the final version then I upload. ,👍

Motorhead and ACDC in mid 90s.i always wondered why the gigs need to be that loud but suppose they have to cut through the screaming crowd.

I never paid attention to bass in SQ until the above video link. To me SQ was like ...And Justice for All album......

Really needs to be the folding type for me. Gonna go to Screwfix this week as rehearsals start on Sunday and i want to take my new cabs and own amp to try it out.
Dave
I bought a folding one and moved a large ( not American style ) fridge and various tall units. I think it's this one. Folds down flat.
What is the heaviest you comfortably listen to?
