    Just had a wee server hiccup at BC central, nothing to worry about.  A severe thrashing from Ped saw the IT gnomes working to the brink exhaustion to restore service as quickly as inhumanely possible.  All hail the IT gnomes for their tireless devotion to our cause.

    Hello. I'm illy (or Ilana). I live in Oxford currently but I'm moving to Brighton shortly. I have two kids, 9 years and 4 years. Been playing since 1991... I'm old... I own two J basses and 2 Spector basses, all 5 string. I started playing 5 string 1992, first 5 string was a Charvel Fusion V. It's all I could afford at the time. I do being mum and music. Equally divided.......(I wish....) I use an EBS preamp into power amp and into two Markbass Traveller cabs. I also have an (Eminence loaded) custom 2x10/HF "Unicorn" cab. A Traynor SB500H for light, easy-handling if I do gigs and a TC Electronic BC208 and Traynor SB200H next to my bed, bedroom practice, of course. That's it.

    Hi I'm Guido.

    I live in the North of Italy, Emilia Romagna region, but grew up in London. being playing bass since 16 and at 20 started playing in a band and still playing in the same band till today with almost the same elements, well almost the same elements. I have a 6 string Yamaha TRB6 and a Warwick 5 string Streamer Limited Edition Signature 2015. Studied bass guitar and a bit of music at CPM in Milan, recorded a few CDs and other things,...... just that extra kick that music gives you to stream along in life.

      Those aren't steampunks. They're Honourable Officers of the Guild of Lady Welders in their traditional costume.

      Don't knock them - they do a lot of good work for charity, re-homing battery farm hens, that sort of thing :)

      Just listened to American Girl. Astonishingly good stuff by the band as a whole and lovely bass playing. Ron Blair - nailed.

      May I make a couple of pettifogging (geddit?) observations? Your singer's bang on Petty's notes but he doesn't quite slur the consonants enough - e.g. you can hear the 'T' at the end of the word tonight. Also, if you ever go back in with the song the chimey opening guitars are just the teeniest bit clean. Other than that, it's just like listening to the original. Brilliant work, Sir and congrats to your bandmates.

    What happened to the 'pirate' emoji? And what happened to the 'so shocked I fell over' emoji? I feel I can't express myself properly on BC without these two emojis. Can we have them back please? I feel naked if I can't pretend to over-react and/or be a pirate. Thanks.

      Can't find the pirate, though. And the 'smileys and people' section is mostly blank for me. Anything useful is down the bottom in 'default'. 

      The Germans have a word for this: Schlimmbesserung - an 'improvement' which makes something worse than it was before
