In great condition and perfect working order. It is approximately 2 years old and was purchased new from GB Guitars. I had no intention of selling this but a recently aquired Hartke head is giving me a warm glowy feeling inside! Will post picture of actual amp asap. Looking for £400.00. Cash on collection preferred from South London.
To suggest that playing something like 'Cissy Strut' or 'Good Times' can't be taught is, in my mind, a nonsense.
There is no such thing as 'it', which we can both agree on. And I never intended to suggest there was. To break it down to a couple of lines like these probably helps, although it appears almost pointless discussing it at that level. But... I have heard Good Times played well, and not very well. My idea of 'not very well' is the bloody thing not grooving, for the want of a better word... which probably brings us back to the OP.
To suggest it is because there is 'something missing', some inherent ability that a few chosen people are gifted with, is utter nonsense. The only relationship that determines how good people are is the amount of time they spent playing the music. But to suggest that it is innate in some and not in others is a dangerous road to go down. It implies superiority through an accident of birth.
I'm certainly not implying superiority so apologise if it came over as that and am frankly pretty pissed off that you would even suggest that I was trying to make that point. But also to suggest we are all capable of the same standard is also utter nonsense. Surely you agree we all have different strengths and weaknesses? I am what you would call Semi-pro as are many on here, and I'm well aware of my weaknesses. And for the record I have the utmost respect for players of whatever instrument, beginners or not.

I've known many drummers who are technically spot on, have been playing for years in a live environment, practise daily.... but there sense of timing and feel leaves a lot to be desired. I've played with various musos, various instruments. Great readers. In some cases cannot busk or jam and once again lack that all important feel. Are we saying they didn't have good teachers or is there something else more to do with the make-up of that person?

Having had no lessons and a self confessed lazy learner, I'm probably the last person who should comment in a thread like this. But any style can be taught, technically. Where it falls down is the players lack of ability in being able to deliver the style with feel, emotion and all the other bits that are in-built. Oh yes, there is a grove and swing in much of Bonham's playing.

I purchased this only a couple of days ago with a Super 12, but having played it on and off today I've decided I'll stick with my EBS head for a while. I know some people love these on here which is why I wanted to give it a try. The amp is in very good condition. Comes with a 2U rackcase as in picture (includes front and rear covers). Amp manual, Jack to Speak-on lead, power cable. Would prefer cash on collection from Bromley, South London for £225.00. Thanks for looking.

Don't think there is much of a difference re North or South. More the venue and how much the client is looking to spend dictates. Price wise..... £500 to 15k (Gilev will charge 10 to 15k easy on average and are out every weekend for Jewish weddings). £1000 to £3000 is more the market I know and at the higher end there is usually an established agent involved and in many cases a dedicated PA/light company, which unfortunately has to be paid for out of that 3k. Fine if you can be self contained but when doing London Park Lane gigs it's a pain in the arse for get-ins/outs. Would rather just turn up and play, which is what I do.

Yes I can see the wood could chip easily, so think this could do with a cover if I keep it. It will only be me carrying it and I tend to be very careful with gear but you never know.

So last night I picked up a used Super 12 T courtesy of a fellow Basschatter. Having not seen one in the flesh (so to speak) I wasn't sure what to expect, but initial signs are good. Visually has a certain charm about it. Love the weight. Reminds me a little of my old Tecamp 212S in weight and size, although a step-up soundwise from that particular cab. Looking forward to gigging it over the next few weeks. If a stayer, I may have to re-visit some previously owned amps to try with it (here we go again!). Does anyone own a fitted cover for one of these, and if so, where from?

Forgot to say... I'm in it for fun and money.

My regular band is usually a 9 piece, 3 lead vocals, 2 brass, bass, keys, drums, guitar. Depending on the job that comes in we sometimes go up to 12 or down to 5. It is nice doing the odd dep where it's a 3 or 4 piece and everything is stripped down to the basics.

I've owned this cab for about 4 months and love it, but last nights gig confirmed that all I really need going forward for the smaller gigs is a lightweight quality combo, possibly a 1x12, so this is available. Weighing in at only 30lbs, 400 watts, 8 ohms. A rather nice HF compression driver. Wedge shaped for easy monitoring plus side standing. It's in excellent condition. Still has the MB logo sticker on! Price wise I'm looking for £400. This picture was taken a while back and the MB head has since sold. Will try to upload a better picture in the next few days.
