1. And another one. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/70-039-s-Fender-Precision-Jazz-bass-bridge-1972-1973-1974-1975-1976-1977-1978-1979-/112088244586?hash=item1a18fae16a%3Ag%3ATjIAAOSwaB5XqgwU&nma=true&si=gCut1%252BqkYP7VZZbArrwERK2kCAs%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
2. This is a precision bass bridge from the same year. http://www.ebay.com/...s-/222306968708
3. I used to have a Lakland 55-02 and it was pretty awesome. Neck was just great. Stingray 5 necks are too narrow and strings are too close to the edge of the neck for me. And I was never so impressed with their sound, IMO of course. However, I bought MTD Kingston AG5, and it's on totally different level. I still can't believe how good that bass is.
4. They are amazing basses. However, I can't help thinking that if your post was about p or j bass you would get like 50 responses so far.
5. I agree, it is quite amazing. I can't even imagine how good is the US made one.
6. Now with a new bridge and custom made knobs.
7. There is one US made for sale in Australia. http://ozbassforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=21162
8. I installed Nordstrands in my 55-02, and kept LH3 pre. IMO the sound is exactly what you are looking for.
9. He also played Ibanez Musician and I remember white Spector that he played during Synchronicity tour.
10. No, it was a private sale here in Australia.
11. http://www.ebay.com....P4AAOSwmLlX8oWE It's in Germany and a bit pricey IMO.
12. It looks like nobody knows. Well I found out, it's 6mm. Just in the case someone else would like to know.
13. Japanese Bacchus gets a lot of positive reviews. And they look amazing too.
14. I just got this bass and it's nothing short of amazing. It is so light and perfect in every way. Bartolini did a great job on pre and pickups they put in these. Clarity, definition, it's all there, and neck is the best I ever encountered.
15. Just a quick question. What size are MTD Kingston knobs, 6mm or 1/4? Thanks.
16. Thanks guys. It does look like too much case for the head. I think I'll pass on this.
17. Hi guys, I have a question. I just got a Mesa Walkabout head from a fellow Aussie. And it happens that he also has this vintage Mesa head case that he is willing to sell, while I am not so sure about it. It does look good and gives great protection to the head, but on the other side it is kinda heavy and adds a lot of bulk. What would you do?
18. Tell her you'll sell one other bass. My wife is usually happy when I buy something if I sell something else.
19. And, new models 44-dual J and 55-dual J, US made passive jazz basses with the same body shape as 44-94 and 55-94.
20. I just remembered 44AJ and 55AJ, active jazz basses and DJ4 and DJ5, Darryl Jones signature jazz bass. Also, last year they introduced 44-14 and 55-14, as US models, same as 94, with limited finish options.
21. 44-94 was the first Lakland model introduced in 1994. 44 refers to 4 strings and 34" scale. Similarly, 55-94 is 5 strings, 35" scale, also introduced in '94. 44-02 and 55-02 share the same logic, being Skyline models introduced in 2002. 44-01 and 55-01 were also introduced in 2002, but they had to make them somehow different. As for the other models, this is what I know: 44-60 and 55-60 are j basses with 60's pickup placement (previously known as Joe Osborne), 55-69 is Tetsuya signature, 1969 being his birth year, 44-64 and 55-64 are p basses similar to Fender 64 P (previously known as Bob Glaub), 55-07 model developed in 2007, discontinued, 44-51 is single coil p similar to Fender 51 P, Decade was developed as a 10 years anniversary bass.
22. I don't like narrow string spacing (19 is perfect for me) and short scale (don't like the sound, look and feel of them).
23. Good timing as it looks like Fender Japan is no more.
24. Hi guys I just joined this site and thought I should post pics of my baby. It is a Lakland 55-02 Deluxe with Nordstrands. I love this bass, it sounds fantastic and the neck is amazing. And for obligatory pics:
