1. Thanks Stephen - I'd say XL please. You've just beaten me to it as I was about to send a 'begging e-mail' to you, David K and Mike G this weekend
 2.
I assume there's ample parking around the hall?
Yes, loads of parking.
Do you just want new stuff for the raffle or is 2nd hand gear acceptable? I've got a couple of FX thingies that I'm not using, for example It looks like a decent sized car park on the satellite images and website.
Used stuff totally acceptable.
 3.
For the Raffle, I have persuaded MSL to put up a Bass Keeper, a Mark Stand, and an ULTRA rare Markbass wristband. The wrist bands are quite special, as they have fairly magical abilities. They can do this:-
That's great, well done! Re wrist bands, one on each arm for me please
 4.
This, this, so very very this!
I was a singer first so I'm a singer who learned to play bass. Despite being the/a lead singer in all my bands since the '60s, I still occasionally find something that trips me up. The most recent was Losing My Religion. Even though the bass part is a doddle, the killer was overlaying Michael Stipe's 'conversational' phrasing. Took me hours practicing alone at home to get it fit for gigs.
 5. You'd certainly need to start with a bass that's been designed to suit your style and built to perfection. Then, if your set-up skills are anything like mine, you'd need to hire the best bass-guitar tech you could find. Oh, and you seemingly string it with rubber bands
 6. Got some bash T-shirts for anyone who's interested: Price/size details to follow.
 7.
Yep, I have a copy of my mock up on the phone, tablet and PC. I also keep watching the video that inspired my pick up choice.
Vintage white body with tort scratch-plate, chrome hardware and rosewood fretboard - snap!!
 8. It's a strange condition this Precionitis. I recently caught the 'late onset' version after 50 trouble-free playing years. Suddenly I just HAD TO KNOW what all the fuss is about. Bought a cheap but lovely Vintage White Squier VM wearing flats from basschatter the brig - and it just put a smile on my face the first time I plugged it in to my rig - and every time after that. It became known as 'The Boss' in the Scrumpy household until, having scratched the itch, I decided to let it go to a young guitarist in one of my bands who's seriously interested in crossing over to the deep and mellow side. Being a student, he's permanently skint so I passed it on for the bargain price I paid together with a nice TE stack on sale or return (so far no sale and no return either!). To say he's besotted with it - and frighteningly good on it - would be an understatement. After all these years I totally get it now. If I could handle a P properly I'd probably play nothing else.
 9.
Can I suggest having a bunch of sticky labels and a Sharpie available so that people can make nametags for themselves if they want? We did this at the last national bash I went to and it was good to be able to put a face to a forum handle. I can source suitable items from my office stationery cupboard (I'm only borrowing them boss, honest) if required.
I was planning to make name badges (already have the labels and permie pens) - but your DIY idea is much better
 10.
I've seen my name on the list, but unfortunately (bash-wise) I have a gig the night before in Norfolk, which will see me greeting the milkman when I get home. Have a great one chaps!
Thanks for telling us, now de-listed - enjoy the gig!
 11.
Next thing you'll be staring longingly at leather sofas...
If Adrian started doing replica leather sofas I bet he'd sell a few. Btw, did you spot that he photographed my bass IN FRONT of the sofa (rather than beside it) to get the contrast of white bass against chestnut-brown leather? No job too small for that guy
 12. "to me they're nicer as they have perfect balance (i played many when at adrian's house) ...." I'm jealous - and I bet I'm not the only one!
 13. OK, so I'm pleased to report that Mike Gillett will be 'bashing' with us - I think his electro-acoustic basses look amazing and I can't wait to try one/all of them! http://www.gillettguitars.co.uk/
 14.
So 1 or 2 emails have been sent...
15. Hauessel P + JJ with Delano 2-band active electronics including 3-pos mini toggle switch for series/single-coil/parallel selection. It's a chambered body with lightweight tuners and bridge btw. Shipping tomorrow
 16.
Late to the party I should have scrolled down a bit. Jim.
I've assumed you're coming to the party and added you to the list - let me know if you're bringing stuff and I'll add that too.
 17.
I can offer a cockrel-shaped watering can made from folded and welded metal, finished in a tasteful brown coloured hammerite... Never been used, it was a house warming present.....
Thanks Graham!
 18.
Crikey, this looks like being bigger than the S.E. Bash.....anyone know any famous Bassists to invite along ( present company excepted!)?
I'm hoping that one or two might make themselves known on this thread - maybe they already have?! Anyway, I'm bringing an (unworn) Elite Strings T-shirt signed by a famous bass player (Stuart Zender) to go in the raffle. It will only be of interest to other Mikes though as he dedicated it to me - "To Mike - Respect!" IIRC Did I say raffle? Oh yes, there's going to be one - so far with a T-shirt and an unused Barefaced jack/Speakon cable lead. Any other raffle prize donations will be gratefully received on the day.
 19.
Scrumpymike - I have phoned Mike Gillett and he will be coming to the bash with a selection of his beautiful acoustic basses. He asks if you would please call him on 07962 666787 to confirm details etc. Graham
Thanks Graham, just left a message on his voice mail. Also responded by e-mail to text message from luthier Graham; waiting for his confirmation.
