  1. Some of the clubs we have been playing with have to make huge changes to the stage to allow us to stand 6ft apart. Some of the stages are only 6ft wide 😁
  2. Same here. Not always keen on it with some colour bodies. but I think Sire have picked the right colour to go with the Ash bodies.
  3. Yep, not saying there is only one way either. Just how I see it. Just based on my experience.
  4. I get the sentiment, but that hardly covers everyone. In my 30+ years of playing live i have never come across anything remotely dangerous to gear, other than the odd idiot dancing too close to the PA speaker. If i spent £1500 on a good bass I’d bloody well play it to death (and do). Going out and buying a cheaper bass for gigs doesn’t seem logical to me. Well, it does in a way if you are worried about damage, but then why obses so much about high end basses, must spend all this money because it feels great, plays like a dream etc, only to go and gig with a lesser bass? It’s a tool, its like any other tool, it can get damaged, but if it works whats the problem? People seem to be thinking of resale value and not enjoying wheat they have. If you brought an expensive couch would you also by some cheap chairs to sit on so the couch can be sold at a later date for as much money as possible lol. Nothing to say buying a bass that plays well and sounds good will not last years. The OP needs to try some, and buy the one he feels is the best for him. No matter what the cost. Don’t look to sell it before you even get it, to get something better, because if you get the one that you like how can it get any better. ....says the man with 6 basses lol.
  5. As per our background chat, I’d like to ask those who know about these things if this is possible? Ive used ASIO since it first came out or low latency. The question is, is there really a huge difference in sound quality with using ASIO drivers? Maybe ive just always used them without releasing for playback, but i thought it was just a high quality way of bypassing the audio system bus and talking directly with the sound card.
  6. One in each corner of the room. Sorted !!!!
  7. Just buy another Fearless F112 and use them as a stereo pair 🙂
  8. Exactly. Why max out the budget on a really good, but not suitable bass. Any bass should be able to do the Job, especially in this price range, but not all basses will feel or sound the same. Could be a costly mistake. I do agree though that although cheaper basses are good enough, when you pay more you get a bit more. The worst thing is to get a bass and struggle with it because its not holding tuning or there is fret sprout etc. This is less likely to happen further up the price scale, but not uncommon.
  9. Yeah, been there many times. Always had a lucky escape though 😁
  10. I’m a big fan of not paying too much, but I think its worth pointing out that a better made bass has more chance of lasting. Ive never damaged any bass ive had, but ive had cheap basses whose necks would never stop changing, tuners that needed replacing, wiring that was poor and unreliable. These were all cheap (sub £300) basses ive had over the years. These days £300 will get you decent gear, but doesn’t guarantee a long lasting 100% reliable bass if you are going on tour etc.
  11. I love that blue burst. Looks similar to my Fender Sandblasted. Just needs black hardware 🙂
  12. There are a lot of clipped members over there lol.
  13. Agreed. Even the low end Squiers are more than gig worthy these days. You start to run out of ‘worth it’s’ as you go higher up the price range IMO. Then again, buy the right one first time and you don’t think about upgrading for a long time (as long as you don’t come on here of course).
  14. Thought about something like a Yamaha P34? Lovely, lovely bass. Doesn’t quite nail classic Fender P bass, but has a more modern slant, slightly funkier i would say but still P bass territory. Adding in the bridge pup gives a lovely growl. Second hand these are only about £850. So well within budget and nowhere near maxing it out. Congrats on getting through the virus. Can i ask if it was a bad experience or a mild one?
  15. All the basses ive got for as long as i can remember have needed some tension added to the TR. From the Squiers to my Yamaha P34. I put this down to having a preference that these companies dont know about. 😃
  16. Damn that’s bad news. One of my keyboard influences when i was growing up. I went and got a Wasp synth after seeing Dave play one. Saw them a few times in concert.
  17. Yeah, but doesn’t quite work as an MP3 😂
  18. Thats a cool link. I dont have Native so might give that a go. I hardly ever use my Stomp with my PC, today is an exception. I came across this today. the guy has made a file that changes the Line6 given names to the real names of all the sims in the Helix. All apart form the L6 sims which are unique to them. Might give this a go while im connected. https://benvesco.com/store/line-6-edit-real-names-mod/
  19. Yes. on the L6 website it states that although all units use the same file format, each has to support all the blocks and features in the patch. You can load them in to HX Native if you have it, then take out the amps and cabs etc. I think it would be pointless though as these are integral to the overall sound. Still, might give a good starting block. I did a few screen shots for Paul earlier so might as well post them here as well. Duff HX.pdf Synth 1 HX.pdf Billy HX.pdf Joe Dart HX.pdf
  20. Yeah, he seems to live and breath Helix. Here you go. He has said they are mostly for the Stomp. I’m not sure whats in this. I dont think its everything from his website. https://www.dropbox.com/s/nec011d71crykiu/DRT2020.zip?dl=0
  21. Jon also posted all his patches in one zip file a while ago.
  22. With the drops outs maybe, but the.systems like the Xvive seem to be using quite low quality chips so sound quality will suffer, although not always noticeable I guess.
  23. I ‘think’ there has already been a thread or two on this. I keep trying my best to watch it, i think they are outstanding musicians, but just cant seem to stick with it for more than 30 seconds at a time. Joe Dart is amazing at what he does, but the word ‘bland’ keeps coming to mind. Again, amazing musicians, but the music is a bit all over the place for me. To me its a case of playing as many notes as possible because they can. Guess that’s the genre they are in though.
  24. Must admit at home i do seem to get more dropouts with my Boss WL20 (and 20L when i had it). More than with my Xvive in the same position. For gigs and rehearsals the Boss is fine though. Must be because i tend to play at home close to my router. My guitarist uses Xvive and he doesn’t have cut outs. What i don’t like about the Xvive is how it effects the low, quiet notes. I rarely use a rig at home but last year i got a few new cabs so tried them out at low level at home. Each time i used my Xvive (as that’s what i use at home). Playing a quiet (as in plucking softly) a low F# or G produces a buzz/noise on those notes as they are dying out. It’s definitely the Xvive as swapping to my Boss or a cable eliminates the issue 100%. It’s almost like the cab has a lose screw vibrating. Now i dont use the Xvive outside the house.
