  1. Anyone got/using one yet? I was thinking of getting a Q-Strip (again) but this is much cheaper. It lacks a lot of features, but those that i never used on my previous Q-Strip so does appeal to me. https://www.ibanez.com/eu/products/detail/pteq.html
  2. Yeah, when my singer got her IE100’s (well, had mine), she commented that there was a slight drop in volume, but also that it was a more even sound so just turned up a bit. After a few rehearsals she said that she actually had them louder than her KZ’s, but could do so because it wasn't as painful.
  3. Which version? I had both and preferred the guitar version at one point, then the full range one, then i think i went back i the guitar version as i found the full range one a bit clicky when using a pick.
  4. Yeah, i was mainly addressing the volume issue you mentioned rather than the IEMs themselves.
  5. Well the clarity comes mostly from the mid range, so having a cleaner low end could allow that through. Low end uses a lot of power, I’d imagine even in IEM’s, so taming that could help you hear the bass a bit better and get louder. All our monitor mixes have a HPF applied and the clarity improvement is quite noticeable to me. Don’t forget all your mics will also be picking up the on stage sound and feeding that back to your IEM’s. Remember how everyone was jumping on the HPF fad a few years ago? Same principle applies here. Anyway, apologies for derailing things.
  6. Could you put a small EQ unit between the Aux and the Xvive transmitter? Maybe not an option if they are headphone outs though.
  7. Should add, Dawn uses the IE100 and Xvive and has never needed to max the volume out on the receiver. She has a full band mix in them. Maybe one thing you could try is to EQ a bit of low end out? Sometimes all that low energy can cloud things. Also, the fit is everything IME. Get a good isolation and you can hear things much clearer. Only now am i happy with how things are, and couldn’t get by without the memory foam tips.
  8. Yep, the Sens only have one but seem more balanced than the 3 driver MEE’s i have, and also the KZ’s I’ve had. I’d guess there is only so much bass and low end your ear can take at higher levels, but having an extended harsh top end at high levels would be very uncomfortable.
  9. I find that as well with my IE400 (and 100 before them). What i noticed is they are more balanced and so smoother sounding. Sometimes i wonder if they are loud enough as i do still hear they band a little. When i had the KZ’s briefly they did sound louder and more in your face (or ear). More noticeable i guess, but with too much high end to make them sound comfortable for me. I felt they were making their presence known more and not really blending in.
  10. Had an almost 5 hour session with the LEKATO today. No issues whatsoever, although im the only one in this band using wireless. I could hear other bands rehearsing though so im sure there were other devices in use nearby. To be fair i never had any issues with the Boss system either when i had them (had both versions, and the guitar version twice). Only playing passive basses though.
  11. Well its not the best product unless its a product you need, so ill take the hype with a pinch of salt. I mean, is it better than a Katana amp if you need an amp? 😂. Ive looked in to it and it looks great, but maybe not quite what im after. The way i see it (and i may be wrong), is that the bass would have to be connected to the ipad by a cable (from the unit). I also notice the app is not native to ipad, so id have to rotate the ipad, which means it wont stand up, plus it seems the orientation has to be with the USB port at the bottom, so it definitely wont stand up. Still looking, but i do appreciate this is a good device for those that need it.
  12. Oh yeah, i forgot about that. Ive read some reviews but that was before i wanted an interface. Cheers, I’ll look in to it.
  13. Cheers. Yep, i have all this covered with software if needed, i just wondered if there was a different way of doing it with hardware.
  14. What amp sims does that have?
  15. It’s a very welcome addition. I’ve been using them all evening without a single issue. I like that i can keep the receiver plugged in to my mixer and just turn it off when I’ve finished. I had to pull the Boss out so it didn’t drain.
  16. I have a Steinberg UR22-C which has the above built in, and works perfect, but i keep it connected to my Mac. I want something similar to use in another room with my ipad for when im learning songs on bass. Thing is i cant bring myself to buy another, as it just seems a bit excessive, and it wont get used much. One option I’ve considered is getting a Zoom H4n Pro, as that would work fine, but having just got a H4e it again feels excessive. The H4e works ok but doesnt have the onboard effects. Looking for suggestions as to what else i can look at. Has to be bus compliant. I only intend to use one cable from ipad to interface, and a headphone cable. No power cables. Bass will be wireless. Im not bothered what sims are included, just something to liven it up a bit. Could even be just good EQ and comp. Shouldn’t need to use an app to get it working, i don’t want to be loading songs in to it etc. Ok with using an app as a front end though. Needs to be reasonably cheap, let’s say around £100. A UR22-C will cost around £130. I guess im really looking at another UR22-C, but open to suggestions. Please, im asking about an interface, not any other workaround etc. I have plenty of other options like Zoom B4 in to interface, Logic open on ipad etc already.
  17. I had the boss one, in fact i have both verisons, but for now i want to keep costs down as ive not yet even met the new band, i mighty end up not needing them. I was always a bit disappointed that the Boss don’t have an on/off switch, and i much prefer the option of selecting another channel if i need to.
  18. I did consider that, and like the idea of having a battery indicator, but i felt it looked a bit big and would stand out more.
  19. Just looking at the specs again, and it seems both are rated at 100ft, at least according to LEKATO themselves. I think Amazon made a typo as they state 100 meters, which is a crazy distance.
  20. I just went to plug my WS90 in and was surprised its USB-C, not micro USB. So i guess then could and did do it. I do like the ideal of switchable channels. That was what put me off their IEM system. I guess being in the 5.8 band its not so much an issue at the moment.
  21. Cool. Im sure my Xvive would be fine, but i like the idea of standing more chance of not having issues.
  22. Cheers. Will do. They look ugly and cheap to me but as long as they work, thats really all that counts.
  23. I’m more concerned about 4 hour rehearsals rather than gigs at this stage. I always do charge things up before leaving the house, but i prefer to have a good bit of headroom if i can. I’ve worked hard to get my band to use things like IEM's, and still not quite there yet. Looks like with the new band I’ll have a much harder time convincing them, but i accept the challenge. Im hoping i can at least use my system somehow. Time will tell.
  24. Ah cool. I was just going by the spec on Amazon. It thought i read both were 8 hours. i too will be pretty much right next to an amp so its more to stop treading on cables rather than to go walkabout. EDIT. I can see now the WS50 is rated 5 hours. That would worry me slightly so I’ll stick with the 90.
  25. Cheers. I did purchase that first, it’s £42 at the moment, but then saw that the WS90 had a bit less latency. Just wondering what else is different. Got the 90 coming tomorrow but i know i wouldn’t notice the latency from either. i dont plan on using anything between the bass and amp (famous last words lol). At least not until i get settled. Picked the bass up for the first time last night since 2020.
