Now, I'm an old punk so naturally I dislike Elton John intensely but, you know, a bit of musical history innit so I put the TV on...
I had no idea I was carrying around an Elton John bucket list of songs I wanted to hear, top of the list, Pinball Wizard! And f*** me if I wasn't a bit tearful during Daniel. Seriously, if Kiki Dee turns up to do Don't Go Breaking My Heart, well, I'll be all done with music. @stingrayPete1977 is bang on, those bass settings should be compulsory.
What on earth my eighteen year old self would call me this evening I don't know.

Sadly this is actually a thing in human psychology (but I forget the proper term).
Stupidity
I worked in a car showroom for a while years ago, if a car wasn't selling they would bump the price up week after week and it would invariably sell at the higher price.

Have a great time....
Looks like my idea of hell though (camping.... with....people....)
I've done it once, but I had private backstage camping and showers/food as I was stage crew on the Acoustic Stage. That's the ONLY way I'd go....
Likewise. I've done it three times but as crew/tech for bands.

Sometimes I turn the drum machine off and just listen to the beauty of the wood against the strings.
...and that is the route to your fretless place. Forget Mick Karn, forget Jaco, forget busy playing, follow the last seven words of your sentence.

I am beginning to notice a pattern here, every time my funds are in a trough @eude sells one of his beautiful ACGs... we are simply out of synch.

I only ever do bank transfer for transactions with Bass Chatters, but, I always check beforehand that a bank transfer is acceptable. I wouldn't just turn up expecting someone to accept that method of payment.

Excellent! I'm still up for this.

Hi folks
I'm thinking about getting a pedalboard for a handful of effects now that I have a regular 'gig' and I want to avoid using velcro. That leaves me with either Aclam 'clamps' or Temple Audio base screws.
Both look fine but I'm wondering how well they'd work with a pedal which has 'feet' so that the base of the pedal isn't flush with the board. For example my Mutron has quite big feet which lift it about 1cm. I don't want to remove them (they're glued on).
The clamps on the Aclam look like they'd be a bit small to grab enough of the pedal, and the base unit on the Temple Audio doesn't look like it has any travel to allow the baseplate to be anything but flush with the board itself.
Is that right? Does anyone have either and can confirm?
Cheers
I have a Grace Design Alix with feet on the bottom and a Boss tuner with the same. You can move the pedals about so the feet fall into the gaps or, even if the pedal is sitting on its feet, the Aclam clips still hold it in place. As you can see from this pic...
...the GDA is only held in with three Aclam clips (due to leads) and yet I can still hold it upside down and shake it* despite it being a heavy pedal.

Just sold a bass to Mick, a pleasure as always, great comms, instant payment, he's your bona fide pillar of the forum. Therefore I have no hesitation in awarding him the Frank Blank Seal of Approval...

***SOLD***
The pickups have been upgraded to EMGs and it's had an 18v wiring upgrade with a Gotoh battery box, the controls are now nice and simple, vol (nearest the neck), blend (middle) and tone (nearest the bridge), the neck has been sanded and has a lovely satin finish, beautiful. All work was carried out professionally.
The body has a few dings, rubs and scratches, I'm going to suggest this adds to the mojo of this bruiser of a bass, I have detailed the marks in the photos.
I believe the weight to be around 4.5 kg but that's bathroom scales accuracy.
This bass does not have a case or gig bag so I will deliver it to you, or you can come try it out or we can meet somewhere. Any questions or more photo req please just ask.

I recently made a list of my favourite albums, luckily I can stretch my decade back to 1974 to include Kimono My House. Most of my favourite albums are from between 1979-82 so 1974-84 covers me nicely.

There’s a slightly longer video than the one in the ‘article’ above where at the end of the set he dangerously slams his bass to the floor from the height of about six inches and walks off with his middle fingers raised. Edgy.
Poor lad, I expect he was upset at finishing his gap year.- 2
