Royal Blood? I've s*** 'em...

Just sold a bass to @casapete, our second transaction, and, just like the first, everything went really smoothly. So a) deal with absolute confidence and b) obviously this warrants the Frank Blank Seal of Confidence...

Big Country didn't do a lot for me but I was a huge fan of Skids (their name does not includeThe), a brilliant, brilliant guitarist.
-
I was concerned that using fingernails (or indeed a pick) would, over time, possibly damage the cavity cover or body of the bass.
@Jabba_the_gut came up with a solution...

My fretless bass has a magnetic cavity cover, it was built by @Jabba_the_gut, he might be able to give you some info.

@Frank Blank is in Essex if I remember rightly. How long do you reckon the thread title field on the forum software is?
No one in their right mind wants Essex in the name of their event! I'll be bringing fretted and fretless short scale Jabba basses, Grace Design Alix, Effectrode compression of some sort, QSC K12.2.-

@rwillett have we reached a point where we can start an attendee/gear list?

Now that's the best news I've heard since I got the fretless semi-hollow bass.I am a very happy man!

Blimey, I'd forgotten I'd given him the wood he made that bass from. Does that mean it's mine..?

Empires and Dance - Simple Minds
All (well, most) of the songs are built around Derek Forbes' brilliant driving bass lines, it's my second favourite album of all time but that disheveled bar steward with the moist towelettes, @upside downer, beat me to it.
If I were wearing a cravat and monocle and perhaps sporting a cane it would be Gentlemen Take Polaroids - Japan

Just sold a Sire acoustic bass to Dave, excellent comms, quick, painless transaction, a gentleman and a scholar, Obviously this earns him the barely sought-after Frank Blank Seal of Approval...

This looks fab. If I wasn’t 250 miles away I’d take it!
We’ve met half way before, happy to do it again! -

Metal Box by PiL. Simple yet inventive playing from Jah Wobble (and, on one track, Keith Levene)

Does it have any kind of buffer added to the piezo circuit?
No idea Sir, beyond my technical knowledge, as are most things.

SOLD
A Sire GB5 Bass 4 (why on earth call a 4 string bass a GB5?) purchased on the 16th Oct 2025. It's been played twice at home rehearsals. This bass is pristine and unmarked. The reason I'm selling it is, unfortunately, the old long scale bass aches are back so I am returning to my short scale basses.
Bass is located in Southend, happy to meet somewhere to hand over or drive to you (I like driving, try me).
The bass went straight to Guitar Technical Services for a Pro Set-Up as soon as I bought it.
The bass does not come with a case but I expect I'll find something to put it in to get it to you.
Happy to answer any questions or provide more pics, just message me.
No trades thanks.

Really sorry to see this, Frank. That bass is a truly lovely thing, and I know how much you wanted it.
It's an absolute doozie and I'm beyond gutted to let it go. Thing is, nothing is worse than a bass idling in the rack when it could be being played. It sounds perfect with our music too, but all roads inevitably lead old men to short scales...
