  1. I've had a couple of these, I still have one. I really like them the sound is great, a little smoother than a P bass depending on eq of course, I have a BB300 and they are similar but without the reversed pickup, the BB bass DNA is in there. Quality is great the necks are slim front to back and the nut is 40mm width, for me the best playing neck of any bass I have played. Electronics are simple but again the quality is good, nice range on the tone control. Easily adjusted pickups with 3 screws on each and threaded inserts in the body. The usual 1980's BB adjustable tuners are smooth and good but a little heavy so with a slippery strap there can be a bit of neck dive. Medium scale is easy to get around on and for me a nice compromise between 30'' and 34'' mine weighs 3.5kg 7lb 8ozs. The body is is in proportion to the Med scale I had lovely example with just one chip on the body and stupidly sold it last year for £375 I missed it so much I bought another, they do come up but not often, this one heavily used for £325 In my view it is difficult to go wrong with a Yamaha BB bass

  7. I've had 3 Fender MIJ basses from around this time, they all have had a slightly opaque serial number decal, I would say it's genuine
  8. Med scale 32" Aria Pro11 Thor sound TSB550 Neck through bass in natural Ash. Quality hardware with passive vol and 5 way tone control and a coil tap switch. truss rod fully functioning frets are in great shape with minimum wear. 44mm nut width with a super fast shallow neck, low action, 17mm string spacing at the brass bridge. Lovely light weight bass about 8lbs, very comfortable bass perfectly balanced on the strap in great condition with a few minor dings and a tiny scratch next to the jack socket, it is rare to find a bass of this age (1980's)in such good shape. Prefer collection from Nr Plymouth Devon, I'm happy to drive up to around 50 miles for a personal handover but if a courier is required it will be very well packed in the hard case .

  11. Ashdown as well for me, I have 3 of their amps CTM's and an ABM. Dave Green has always been really helpful, free with his advice to keep the amps running well and when there have been problems with the older amps, both over 10 years old they have either supplied the parts and instruction for a diy fix or repaired the amps free of charge, the amps are superb, it is this that keeps me loyal to the brand
  12. I bought the Ashdown CTM 300, on Friday evening, I got the confirmation email immediately and a shipping email on Monday morning, the amp was delivered on Tuesday morning. It's a superb amp and will join it's kid brother my Ashdown Little Bastard 30
