1.
Never seen a 6 string bass so small, and with a whammy bar too!
hmmm... Here's a 6 Sting 'Bass' to even things up. Note the Holly Pickups covers done on Haydn's CNC (he built my bass at Overwater)
 2.
Is the finish by Dave 'Banger' Wilson?
As far as I am aware Haydn Does all of his own colour and spraying work, including the rather fetching tiger eye finished guitar on his site. ... that's not to say Dave has never finished a 'Williams' as I know they are friends and former colleagues. Stu
 3. Hi, Thought you guys might be interested in taking a look at Haydn Williams new site. Haydn is a good friend of mine as well as the head builder at Overwater Basses. He also build electric and acoustic guitars and basses under his own name 'H J Williams' and although he's rather modest I do not know a man with more knowledge of instrument building, wood, and problem solving!... he also knows a hell of a lot about CNC and built one himself. Some of you will know Haydn and his considerable skill and talent. Take a look at his work at Williams Guitars Feel free to leave him a comment
 4. Afternoon guys, Its great to see that the basses have started to reach customers and that you're already reviewing them! We (Overwater) appreciate that there has been a lot of talk about the new Aspiration series and at times information has been a little bit slow coming through. However, the basses are here and we will be getting a definitive list of dealers together ASAP. There should be an Aspiration bass dealer close to most players! I'm going to create a guide to explain the EQ and what the trims pots do . This will be available to downlaod as a PDF on the Overwater site by the end of next week. In the meantime, if you have any questions email the Laurence or Chris via the OW website. They are busy at the moment, but will get back to you as soon as they can. Alternatively send me a message here. I can provide you with full details, images etc or help with any issues you may have. Thanks Stu
 5. Great to see all the replies. OW HQ is very busy at the moment with everyone setting up all the basses - you simply cannot move in the workshop because of the hundreds of instrument boxes! They will be a full selection of Aspiration Series basses at the show this weekend - plus a selection of Custom Shop instruments (including my own Evolution 6 String) Stu

 8.
sorry but your Overwater link doesn't work,
Hi, Sorry about the link. I'm having an issue with pretty URL's at the moment. For now use the following link http://www.overwaterbasses.com/index.php/j-series Stu (the other Carlisle bass player)
 9.
So hope there's some news from Overwater or Tanglewood soon - I can't be the only one who's really interested at the price point they're talking about.
Thanks for the feedback. The website is updated as and when news is available. This is not always easy to do as the team is rather small and commited to looking after all customers old and new, which is a full time job in itself. All projects are documented and a new gallery is being prepared. The new basses have only just arrived in the UK and will be sent out to dealers soon. Details of stockists are being finalised and will be updated, along with a new section on the website within the next week. If you have any questions about the new Aspiration series or other OW products please do get in touch. Chris and Laurence are always happy to talk bass and if you have any requests for imagery, news, reviews etc PM me here or [[email protected]]email Cheers Stu
 10. Great gig bags - the (insert luxury car brand of choice) of bass transportation! I recommend cleaning and nourishing with a good quality leather cleaner. I use equestrian saddle products
 11. Hi Tom, I've got pictures of your bass on my iPhone - if you'd like them as well give me a shout and I'll mail them over. Looks like a great bass already! Stu stu(at)overwater.co.uk
 12.
Yeah. Just need to persuade you to part with that Evo6 and my collection will be spot on
Just been playing the Evo - I do love 6 string basses. Although, I try and give the other two basses attention, but it's hard. I imagine it's like having a favorite child, but not being allowed to let the other know....
 13. Looking good bud. What a great way to finish off 2010 and a new arrival for 2011! Stu
 14. I've repaired ABS cases with cracks before and providing you take your time, satisfactory results can be achieved. If possible post a picture of the progress you've made so far, detailing the extent of the damage. Merry Christmas Stu
 15.
Out of interest what strings are you using on it, I'm not sure what strings I'm going to be able to use that are35" plus through body.
Overwater nickel xl - suitable for scales up to 36" or 35" through body. Link below Overwater Strings If you have any questions about the strings PM me Stu
 16. I assume these are single coils? Are the pole pieces shielded, i.e. copper screened and grounded to earth on the jack socket, pot or other ground point? My interpretation of your problem: From your description, by turning the treble all the way up you are magnifying the sound. Alternatively, by turning the bass up you are diminishing the sound... although the same interference will be present. By touching the strings, bridge, pole pieces etc you are soaking some of the interference (sound you can hear) caused by the magnetic field of the pickups. Your bridge will be earthed (assuming this has been done correctly) I may be wrong though A little more information may help. Stu
 17. Great looking bass! Good choice with the option to string through the body and the Dimarzio Ultra J's - I have the same in my Copper OW Enjoy her! Stu

 20.
Are these really 60lbs!? That seems mad for the dimensions given...
Yes... or there abouts. I owned one of these from new and they, like the rest of the EA range (pre micro) are weighty - great bit of kit though... wish I still had mine now
 21.
And the happy customer shot (yes, I am THAT short, and yes, I do REALLY need a shave )...
No mate.. you're perfectly proportioned for your bass I'm 6'7 and purposely go for huge basses to make me look smaller Looks great. A lovely bit of engineering! Stu
 22.
Are we still talking about basses, or are them some pics floating around that I really don't want to see.
Yeah. Every new OW bass get a private stock Polaroid of their favourite member of the OW Team. My favourite is Martin wearing wellies
 23.
that my friend is a thing of great beauty and im pretty sure it sounds as good as it looks, been interested in overwater for a while, i tried a perception at promenade music and i was very smitten with it at the time, i concur with the bolt on thing ive always preferred the punchy sound of a BO just love em- great bass you must be very proud
Thanks. If you've got any questions about any of the bass models just give me a shout. I'm really digging ebony at the moment and the notes just leap off the fretboard on this bass fantastically defined and articulate. Stu
