1. Just bought and installed a loom for my new(ish) Bass Collection SB100 as I wanted to turn it passive. John produced a great loom VTVT (or VVTT?) that works perfectly and dropped right in without any trouble as a replacement for what was there before. As always, the service John offers is superb with great communication and he's always willing to help with getting things sorted. Thanks John!
2. That's kind of scary they don't know when they made their own stuff
3. Maybe more like . . . . : . . . . I generally like the "clean" fretboard on these Yamahas, but yours looks really nice with the abalone dots. My Yamaha GAS has been (temporarily) cured with the purchase of an old RBX1000.
4. These are pretty lightweight - but the addition of the abalone dots will have increased the weight I would imagine Nice bass though - had the 5-string version for a while and was very happy with what it could do, just didn't get on with 5-strings... GLWTS
5. Plugging the serial number on the bass into Warwick's magic number thing comes up with: Serial number: L-111907-04 Article number: 121508C304BZFMAOWW produced: 2005-03-14 Description: Streamer, 5-string Chrome Black finish Flamed Maple A body Ovangkol neck Black hardware Made in Germany But the picture of the warranty card is definitely wrong... that's a different bass altogether

8. Well, found the answer to this so will put it out there for anyone who is ever looking for SD 1/4 pounder pickup covers... Seymour Duncam are distributed in the UK by Rosetti. You can go on their website, find the item you want and use their quote system to request quotes from retailers. Rosetti don't sell direct to private individuals. I ended up contacting Strings Direct and they have put in an order for me. Result
9. I was in there today for a quick look round but got fairly specific stuff I'm looking for that they didn't have (probably for the best). They did have a rather tasty looking Bass Collection SB330 (I think that's what it was) but since I just bought TheGreek's metallic purple one I'm all set in the BC department. Number6, what time were you in there? We may have passed each other by without even knowing it. I admit I did wonder whether I would see Happy Jack there, but as I have no idea what he looks like without the Spiderman costume, I wouldn't have known anyway...
10. Does anyone know where I can get replacement pickup covers for a Seymour Duncan SPB-3 "Quarter Pounder" P-bass pickup. Seymour Duncan don't seem to do them and I'm not having much look with Google searches... Would prefer not to just buy generics as I'd need to drill out the holes and I'm about as cackhanded as they come with that kind of stuff...
11. Just bought a set of Sandberg/Delano P-bass pickups from Alain. Great communication and quick delivery in good packaging. Buy with confidence Thanks Alain.

13. Not too many photos of Maison basses around - found these: https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/maison-bass-guitar-313137219 and that logo is definitely something I recognise... Looks pretty much like a BC clone.
14. GBH - now that name rings a bell... time to hit the Googles.
15. I now have two Hiscox cases and never had a problem with my Jazz (when I had one...) moving in it - there are three extra padded cushions - about 2 x 5 inches in the body section that press down onto the top of the guitar - one on the bridge and one for each horn.
16. Just bought a Bass Collection SB100 from Mick (the metallic purple one the people have been drooling over...). Great communication, super well packaged and arrived this morning. Very very happy Thanks Mick!
17. TheGreek... that one of Happy Jack's look pretty much how I remember the one in Guitarist - not sure how I missed that when going through the BC thread. Doubt Happy Jack would sell it, but as I have an SB100 incoming I think I'll be happy paul_5 - that green one is the same shade that I remember (can you really remember colour accurately...?) though the one in the review was a 4-string (though if my memory is correct and it was a double review the other one could have been a fiver). fretmeister - not an RBX, though that's a sweet bass - and also the colour I remember kodiakblair - agree on the risky business, though TheGreek has very kindly sold me a nice SB100 in metallic purples (that's like green, right?) so I think my Bass Collection GAS is going to be sorted fairly soon. Only problem is I might have a nibble at another bass on my "lost dogs" list (though the SB100 is more on my "never had one, but did have the GAS a long time ago" list)... it's neverending. Weren't the Bass Maniac and the SB series somewhat competitors back in the 90s - I don't remember whether they were in similar price brackets back then or not.
18. Done. And don't worry Froggy... GAS can't be cured, only suppressed
19. Going to try this here because if there's anyone on this planet who can answer my question I'm betting they hang out on Basschat... Cast your minds back to the early 90s. The internet wasn't a "thing" and the only way to sate your GAS was by buying magazines and oogling the basses therein... And in the UK at this time there wasn't even (as far as I know) a dedicated bass magazine - you had to buy "Guitarist" and hope they had a couple of basses and amps and stuff in there that month... As a new bass player, just getting into the world of bass I would get Guitarist as and when I could afford it with my pocket money... And I remember one issue in which appeared a bass, and it's this bass I'm hoping someone on here might be able to identify. The bass was green - a transparent green finish and the hardware was gold. I think it possibly could have been a Bass Collection SB... something. But I can find no contemporary evidence of there having been a trans-green Bass Collection in the early 90s. Might have been a Tune Bass Maniac... Was definitely a modern bass and I think it was one of a pair in the article in question. And that's all I remember, but, weirdly, it's a memory, vague as it is, that has stayed with me for coming up on 30 years... So, anyone got any ideas? Bonus points for a PDF of the original article. Would even be happy if someone said "yeah, I remember that too...". Cheers
20. Would be great if they sold that strap hook as a separate item - would go nicely on a Hohner B2 or a Spirit bass. You can't get the Steinberger hooks like they used on the more recent Synapse series for love nor money... I had one that I bought to go on a B2A and stupidly let it go when I sold that bass... should have just taken it off and filled the holes.
