1. I'll be having a listen tonight too!
 2.
God gave me five digits on each hand and five toes on each foot. Lower mammals are less sophisticated... same's true of my bass. Still a butt ugly Warwick though.
Ahh yesssss, the opposable thumb five-string minor arpeggio is a joy to see!
 3. Normal passive Jazz pups? How many wires? two or three?
 4.
I've always liked the look of Warwicks. Apart from this one. Just... why? Is there even a reason?
The reason is that it has 5 strings
 5.
Not sure which is worse, the bass or the carpet.
I prefer the carpet, and I'm a floorboards type of guy ..
 6.
Edited to take my words out of context? Surely you've got something up your sleeve a bit better than that! We're not talking about cars here, although I suspect if you wanted a more apt car manufacturer you might have picked Ford.
What, like a Zephyr or something? I wasn't really being THAT serious mate
 7.
I've never seen a Warwick bass I liked the look of...
How DARE you sir!!! I don't like this thread. It make me sick.
 8.
The Morris Minor will always be boring for a small minority of people obviously, but for the majority of people they're where it all started and still drive as good today as they did 60 years ago or there abouts. It doesn't take a genius to see where this thread is going though, so there's not a lot of point arguing the toss.
Edited to show a different perspective.
 9.
what in gods name where they thinking..
They were thinking 'I can't w*** more than seven times in a day, I'll have to find something else to do'. Clearly they didn't.
 10.
Normally I try to refrain from controversial posts, but I finally get the chance to show my hatred for these truly AWFUL instruments!
I agree they feel and sound awful, but the 4001 looks gorgeous - not in sunburst of course (twatglo I think it's called), but the white ones and the black ones look ace. I would buy one to hang on the wall if it was cheap. But they are stupidly expensive and not that well made. My mate collects them and the guitars really are horrendous to behold.
 11.
Ahh, the P-Bass. A classic design that will go down in the history books, as instantly recognisable today as it ever was. Nothing boring about it whatsoever
The only thing that would make that P Bass any more boring would be a 'Keep Music Live' sticker.
 12.
Good call. Half Enigma machine. Half Ikea table.
One almost feels like getting a tin of black Humrol and painting a chessboard on it Apparently someone even bought one of these on Basschat once.
 13. The only wood finish bass I would ever want to own would be a Xylem (in the Affiliates Section). They look truly magical. All the ones in this thread remind me of the pine effect sticky back plastic I had on a kitchen counter in the disgusting bedsit I lived in when I moved to London 25 years ago. I reckon people who like wood effect basses think they will have a deeper relationship with their instrument and play better, I also think they are more likely to sleep with their bass than those with painted ones. Apart from Foxen's Wishbass of course, you would catch VD off that.
 14. ROLL UP ROLL UP! TONIGHT - Kit Richardson and her Travelling Circus at The Good Ship - Kilburn High Road

 16. Why did you have to go and do that now I will never sell my new Warwick Streamer CT, but I've wanted a good one of these for so very long. Good luck with your sale
 17. You always play in London when I can't make it! I'll be in Barcelona. Have a great gig mate! Take a headless bass for the 12 Bar
 18.
Stunning bass! I played that one not too long ago! Dom mentioned he enjoyed his visit Silddx, it really does have a tremendous sound!! And I wished I could have bought it from him. Dan
This bass has totally blown me away! That's really nice of Dom to say too. I'll film myself sousing my left bollock in cyder vinegar and eating it on hot buttered toast if anyone can lay claim to seeing me try to sell it
 19. A lot of bolt ons get a sort of wave shaped relief where the neck has a slight hump at the high end frets near the neck/body join. Have you tried a thin shim near the heel edge? I do reckon though that the solution is a fret level and dress, maybe even a hard level and re-crown if it's bad.
 20.
Sometimes I love playing the bass. Other times, like tonight, when I'm trying to learn a song and failing bloody miserably (can't even work out the root notes ffs...) I just get totally pissed off and disheartened
What's the song mate?
 21. Gareth, I think you have have trusted too much again. I am now a firm believer in ALWAYS trying an instrument before buying it. I got very very lucky with my new Warwick, it's perfect. But Dom was very accommodating when he brought it over (from Newcastle!) that if I didn't get on with it I didn't have to buy it. I also chose a perfect Strat from a bunch and I'm over the moon with it. It is also perfect, you know what Fender can be like. There are also so many little variables that you HAVE to play an instrument to know if you love it or not. 'Identical' instruments can feel very different, and set up differently depending on a number of variables. If a bass comes up that you CAN try first, with the right colour, matching headstock, right spec, etc. but it doesn't FEEL quite right, you also need the strength to walk away, knowing that you may not find another for ages. I'm incredibly lucky. S/H fretted Warwicks with ebony boards (I can't stand wenge) are rare, I had one before and stupidly sold it. My new one not only has the spec I'm totally happy with and looks incredible, it FEELS incredible! With an amazingly low buzz-free action, and glorious balance and weight, and that indefinable magic where everything feels right. Like you, I've been on a hell of a journey, but this bass found me. I have absolutely no doubts about this bass, I adore it. I'm sorry you've had such a crap time with S&T and EBMM. But get your full refund, and go and try a load of basses. Do NOT commission another, I think that would be a great mistake mate. Go and TRY some basses!
 22.
At practice last night I got to crank my bass rig to the absolute max. Anyone who has heard an IP rig cranked knows it is capable of immense bass at immense volumes. I used a variety of different sounds, but the best (by far) was a dub sound with no treble, no upper mids, all bottom end, series neck pickup. It was an almost unbelievable sensation! It was genuinely an experience in itself that nothing else on earth can replicate... it's times like that which help to remind me why I LOVE playing bass. Do YOU love playing bass? Tell us all why!
There is nothing like playing with a great dub tone with a great drummer is there, it's a very special thrill
 23. I had a similar experience at rehearsal with Kit last night. Playing my new Warwick Streamer, it's the most comfortable, great sounding bass I've had. Fabulous! My sound was good, we played great, and we laughed a lot at how well drilled we seem to be. I write all Kit's bass lines and it's lovely to play what I've composed, rather than someone else's lines. I too use lots of space, I let the drummer carry the rhythm most of the time. Last night was just so joyous! We can go from a whisper to a roar, very hot on dynamics this band. And I love my sound at the moment. Plenty of subs and a little chorused sizzle, and EQed so the kick drum and piano have some breathing space. It's amazing how eq can affect whether the band sounds tight, loose, open, closed, etc. I think I am finding my voice on the bass finally, I love the volume pedal, effects, and finding those magic notes and phrases that support the vocal and the dynamics of the song. I have to say though, that it's rare that I really feel that mojo where I'm in the zone, where it's almost like the bass is playing itself and I'm the conduit for something more ethereal, playing what I'm thinking, and what I'm thinking is beyond my normal thinking, really getting my mojo on as Scott Thunes would say. That happened five or six times last night. I had some magic moments! I LOVE the bass! I love the guitar too, and I'm much better at guitar now that the bass is my priority and I don't really listen to guitarists much or derive inspiration from them.
 24. Been stroking the old streamer tonight as it happens, with other people in the room too! Seriously, first rehearsal with it tonight, it's completely comfortable, a delight to play, and it sounds like a mammoth! Best bass I've ever had, utterly wonderful to play! I just adore it! Strangely, not a single member of my band said anything about it, so it's clearly not that flash
