New KIT RICHARDSON EP 'Love Songs in Age' now available.
xilddx replied to xilddx's topic in General Discussion
Just so it's clear, opinions are welcome, positive or negative. I got a bit of a slagging for being honest (although hopefully constructive) about a song posted by a BC member soliciting opinion, but really, it's good to know if you think it's good or sh*t, and why. Thanks again for your very kind comments and support. It means so much to me. When I joined Basschat I was quite in awe of the vibe and expertise on here, and I find it a privilege and an honour to be making some of you happy listening to a band I'm so proud to be a part of. Sorry, I'm on leave for a couple of days, basking in the pleasure of last night's launch gig, been at the Pinot Grigio, and feeling a little proud and loved up xx -

Ok, I always say this, sorry for posting this in GD rather than Recording, but not many peeps go there and there are a bunch of lovely fans on here, hence me posting this in GD Our new EP 'Love Songs in Age' is now available on Bandcamp. You can buy downloads only, or buy a limited edition CD (with free downloads) hand painted, signed and numbered by Kitty herself. You can preview all the songs on Bandcamp before buying of course. I'll be there too! -
My pleasure. I really enjoyed it. Kit and the band were on top form and you're like the mad professor of bass. All those sounds add to the songs though and aren't there for no reason. I doff my cap. It's not every gig I go home with the bass players missus either
Thank you! And Thanks so much for giving lady xilddx a lift mate
I was only messin. Ya Summat!

I'm trying to work out if you're a showoff or if that's the guitarist in you speaking?
Neither. It's not really worth telling the truth in good ol blighty is it. It reminds me of school when anyone good at something would be rounded on and called a show off or a swot or summat.

I can switch effortlessly between bass and guitar, and I barely ever practice. Mate, it's music, do it the way that makes you happy. Playing guitar will benefit your bass playing not hinder it.

Paul, thanks so much mate! Can't wait to hit that stage! Nx

the reason relationships and bands are a bad idea
Dear Worried I don't really know much about music, but I do know people. When a woman looks visibly annoyed but doesn't say anything, you can be sure the storm flags are flying. And if her mouth purses in a particular way (psychologists call it 'invisible lips syndrome') then trouble is just around the corner. You say the drummer had to walk home alone. This where timing is important. If he arrived home just after she did, then the row is likely to have picked up again straight away. But if it's an hour or two later, she'll have had some time to get over things. With luck, he'll have come through the door to find a casserole in the oven, flowers on the table and his girlfriend sat up in bed wearing nothing but Chanel No. 5. It's always a worry when a couple you know well are going through a rocky patch. You must resist the temptation to get involved or to ask either party what happened. And don't ask for pictures. And don't mention the original mistake. Remember it's every woman's privilege to fly off the handle for absolutely no reason at all. But if it carries on you've got a bigger problem in the long term. Do you live with the uncomfortable silences or do you mention it to both of them? Will they gang up on you and say it's none of your business? Same if you talk to just one of them - they'll run off home and spill the beans. It could all get very sticky and you could end up having to take sides. So here's my advice. Your drummer clearly can't handle pressure and your singer's a bad-tempered, silly cow. Find replacements and fire them both. You'll thank me in the long-run. Love, Deidre.
Although it's more like Mariella -
What a great night! DV&TTs were wickid! I had a great dance it was a genuine pleasure to meet Mike and see him perform. We had a damn good natter before he hit the stage. The band really are great fun, but the songs are too. They look fabulous on stsge, Proper f***in clownwhore entertainers! I had a thoroughly enjoyable evening, thanks a lot, Mike! Lovely to meet you at last!
A customer came in to our shop today and said he had been to London. He said he visited a shop off Charing Cross called the Bass Centre. I thought the Bass Centre was now an online-only store. He said the shop didn't have the Bass Centre's logo, and was connected to another store called the Guitar Centre. He also said there was a 1960s P-Bass fretless in there advertised at £275!! Anyone shed some light on this?
That's a mad as the other S/H prices in the shop
