  1. Ten to five this morning. Sure you weren't checking for Deko's AT
  2. Great choices Andy. I also have the black acoustic 4 string bass and the wee bass Uke. I don't really get 5 strings so the P/J 5 HTR is not for me,same can't be said for the P/J 4 HTR It sounds great on the Thomann site so one day I'll weaken and buy it. The Uke sounds amazing and it's so small Congratulations
  3. Lee Take your time and enjoy your N(very loud)BD One question : What colour did you go for ?
  4. I hear of any 5 string Zephyrs going You'll get the heads-up.
  5. MoJo I've asked on a couple of Peavey owners places. Soon as I hear back I'll let you know. Still think you got the deal of the year so far.
  6. Couple of things I've notice with the Thomann. Talc really helps when the strings get sticky. Nivea fine talc from the £shop A lighter touch is needed, too heavy with attack and the strings rattle of the fretboard and accuracy when fretting notes is paramount. A quick measure gave E string at 4.8mm and G at 2.4mm or .190 and .90 so heavy gauge strings. Heaviest string I've tried before was a Rotosound F# at .175. When take into account the wee frets, being bang on the mark matters. I get 21.4mm at the fifth fret compared to 35.6mm. Well worth it though for that tone,DB for a thing weighing 2.2lbs Magic
  7. Twincam The Status Hot Wire nylons play and feel great on my PB-50. A good price and fast delivery can be had direct from Status. Might be what your after.
  8. What time's it due Lee ?
  9. Result Lee. Just to whet your appetite here's a fella on a Zygote. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BF-IkdcvFVQ
  10. Weighed mine 9lbs. When it shipped with the Behringer BDI21 parcel was 4Kg according to tracking. Last order said 7Kg, Bass Uke is 1Kg and V-amp Pro is 2.5 Kg. No way a travel plug weighs 3.5Kg. As alyctes says it's including the double box packing.
  11. Keep em coming and have a bump from me
  12. I second that. Stunning's the word.
  13. Got the Harley Benton last night. First U-bass and it sounds great. Finding the smaller neck a challenge but I'll stick with it.
  14. Cheers I'd heard that for the Ashbory and was meant to get some today. On tomorrows list.
  15. Got my hands on one last night. As my prior experience was limited to watching some YT videos last Saturday I really didn't know what to expect So I un-boxed this wee thing[attachment=184539:Bass Uke.jpg] As you can see it's tiny.Coming into this blind I can see some rethinking will be needed. First will be getting used to the strings,as they stretch a lot of turning is required to get in tune, and with the frets being so wee the thickness of the strings means you have to be bang on position to play. An alteration in attack is another thing I must work on to avoid the strings bouncing of the neck.Unplugged it quite quiet but I got a real surprise when I plugged it in. What a great sound,no background hiss just very deep tone Think me and this will get along just fine and I'm going to join a Uke forum for some tips. Don't see this as being a straight transition from bass, some time needed getting used to it's nuances like fretting properly and the strings being so thick.Might try different strings too. For the record it's 825mm long and 297mm wide by 80mm deep and weighs a colossal 2.2lbs or 1 Kg
  16. Two excellent choices there dezb1. The fact that I happen to have those basses has no effect on saying you have excellent taste
  17. AT Picked up a non-deko bass uke last night. Lookss like great fun will be had. I'll add my tuppence worth to the relevant post later. Compared to the B-30 it's tiny.
  18. Think that's just a stock photo AT. None of my 3 deko basses matched the photographs.
  19. Some pals had started learning guitar and a guy down the street was selling a bass for £1. I had a £1
  20. Well done that Man. Dave's a great guy to deal with so I'm not surprised your questions got answered. By next Friday you'll be Evo'd. What a way to start the weekend.
  21. AT Prices all went up on Tuesday. The HB-60 rungs a bell at > £160. There as a B-stock last month at £140 that I waited too long before deciding so lost it. The BZ-4000 NT was 241 euro when I bought it and at the exchange rate then it was £201. That's the reason for the price hikes. The euro has tanked!! I was going to buy a used bass from Germany and the stumbling block was how better a deal I was getting than fellow Europeans.
  22. Bit of a turn-up for the books. I had lousy service from Interparcel the last time but was forced to use them again this week. Parcel Force wanted £52 to ship a 4.4Kg bass to Germany,Interparcel quoted £25 using Parcelforce with extra insurance and txt alerts. Bass was collected at 0930 on Monday and received in Lower Saxony last night. Money has already been refunded to my PP account. I took a hit via the exchange rate and shipping, seller only refunded the outward costs. Can't fault InterParcel this time, 3 days Scotland to Germany is good. So top marks InterParcel though it really was ParcelForce and DHL that did the work
  23. Wow a beautiful bass. I don't play 6 strings or this would have been bought 30 minutes ago Grind NTB's are fantastic basses. This shouldn't be around for long.
  24. Lovely wee bass. Lightweight and as you say it's very easy to play due to the great neck. It's in good nick too, mines is knocked to hell but I'm not selling . Sensible price,c'mon foks treat somebody you know, maybe even yourself, and buy this. GLWTS
