The guy/agent is based in Hastings, templeboards.co.uk. I really like everything about these boards, especially the lack of velcro.

These are apparently available in the UK now. Worth a payday punt I think.

I think we've visited this topic previously, but in his defence, I think you could probably count his signature models on one hand; aside from the new Warwick, there's been the green Fender Jazz, the <shudder> Warwick Reverso </shudder>, a gold/sparkly Precision. There may have been others.

Bass Gear is about ten minutes from Johnson Towers. I really don't go over there enough. P

Honesty no idea. Personally I like #1 & #4 as they sound the most [i]modern [/i]in tone, but that stands for nothing in these tests. So: 1 - 2008 2 - 1966 3 - Fodera 4 - 1972 5 - 1983 6 - 1979 How many out of 6?

I've got an old Precision copy (a Sunn Mustang) that is strung BEAD. Elites I think. That B sounds/plays/feels better than the Warwick and the Bongo I used to own.

Happy with my lot. Been a gradual thing but I think i have all bases/basses covered.

Blimey. It's quite interesting how the finishes have aged (or perhaps the original sunburst on the one at the front wasn't as red as the one at the back). Always had a soft spot for stack-knob Jazz basses. Lovely. I've always liked the Sandberg relicing, although never really been a fan of that headstock. P

[/quote] This is spot on. It's just a shape. Likewise all these people with Rick copies expecting to hear a close approximation of a 4000 series' tone. I've owned a handful of Thunderbirds, all documented on this forum and now I'm down to two Gibsons and a Hamer FBIV. Conversely, and by way of comparison, I also own a 1978 Aria Primary Bass that owes me maybe £30.00. Through my chosen set up, there's really not much difference between what these basses sound like. P

I home recorded a track a few years ago and it sounded fine. It got picked up by a punk label and was put on a compilation...it was mastered for this. The difference was outstanding. So yes, do it. P

I've got the BH800. As I've yet to find a drive tone that satisfies my needs I'm pushing things through Sansamps or Boss pedals. I tend to leave the tone controls flat (at the noon position) and let the pedals control the bass/mids/treble and ramp up the gain control accordingly. Also, to reiterate an earlier post, the Tone Prints rarely load properly if the signal is going through an effects units (on or off), so always go direct. No issues so far!

I've given the UK distributor a call...left a message on the answering machine. Looks like it's a private house though!

I've had a Pedaltrain Mini for a while...it was sufficient for those gigs where I was using someone else's gear and needed the convenience of hearing my tone through someone else's kit. As the months have rolled on, I've been adding to the stompboxes I have, the Mini has become too small and I'm looking at something new. Of the new Pedaltrain stuff, I'm only really taken with the Metro24 (24x8x1.4") but it's not available here (yet) and doesn't seem likely to be here for a while either. I mentioned this to someone at Sam Ash in the US a few days ago and he said to look at a Canadian company called Temple Boards [url="http://templeboards.com"]http://templeboards.com[/url]. One thing I love about these boards is there's an option of no more Velcro, using a quick release mechanism. OK, you need to attach a mounting bracket to each pedal (with double sided tape), but then the pedal can be located anywhere on the board then attached with a thumbscrew. Different options as well for power and output. Looks decent enough. P

I'm always suprised that manufacturers don't utilise You Tube more. The handheld unboxing stuff I find somewhat compelling and unwatchable in equal measure. On the subject of rig rundown stuff, I find the Premier Guitar very entertaining but pretty uninformative.

Well, here I am sitting in my New York hotel room. Me and my wife swung past The Cutting Room about an hour ago to pick up tickets for tonight's Corey Glover/Dug Pinnick show. I was fortunate to be in the venue for the load in and saw (and heard) the DP head during a very brief sound check. It sounds freaking awesome through an Ampeg 8x10. Speaking to his tech guy, he confirmed the head isn't in production yet...these few gigs are the testing ground. I asked about UK/European sales and was met with the usual poop. No distributor for heads and they would need to sell '300 to 400' to make things work this side of the pond. So there you have it. Great head, unlikely that we'll see it anytime soon over here.
