Agreed. I would add that the energy costs are not as big an issue as the costs of remortgaging in 2023 or shrinking rental supply and rising costs of accommodation in general. This is the next big panic the media haven’t quite begun to grasp …. yet.

Inflation is rocketing for several reasons including a supply side crisis and rising fuel costs. The situation in the UK is even worse as we have a weak currency. Most commodities are traded in $s. As the £ has fallen 14% against the $ and is anticipated to fall further costs will continue to go up. Its a tricky situation to get out of. As we import more than we export the £ in our pocket will continue to be devalued and costs will continue to rise.

The same can be said for car dealers. I’ve been looking recently and a local Honda guy pips me to the sale every time and sells the vehicle on at a price increase.
