1. Thoughts of a Dying Atheist is not too complicated, it's just pretty fast, well by my standards. Edit - realised I'd not done the link properly...
2. Oooh a Gripmaster... Handy! See what I did there.
3. Well, I just finished it, and I have to say, it's a bloody good read! Lots of moments when I was really laughing a lot! Will post it off to Wayne at some point soon
4. Intrested, do need to raise the cash first though!
5. Right, my time is up, so I'll start sorting out postage and stuff with whoever is next!
6. In no particular order, though Matt Bellamy is my favourite. I'll bung in a good example of each, even though you've probabally heard them all anyway! Hendrix - Bloody mahussive hands! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCwCBh0z3Hs...feature=related Matt Bellamy - He's bloody amazing at all - Guitar, Piano and Vocals http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Thuid3h_2U0 Tom Morello - Yet again, insane stuff! I do like his Nightwatchman stuff a fair bit too! 7. Really sad to hear of your loss Nick, it's a terrible thing to lose someone you love. Not too sure if I'd be able to make it to this Bash, unless I could wangle a lift, but I'd be happy to make a contribution to the charity donations regardless! All the best, Jim
8.
I’m going through the same process at the moment, but from a Line 6 Pod XT Live. I’ve already got a separate pedalboard built up with 5 fuzz/overdrive pedals (yes, I really do need that many ), a synth/auto wah/envelope filter type pedal, a phaser, a compressor, and I need to get a tuner. Basically I’ve got 2 effect solutions at the moment cos I’m trying to put off selling the Pod. I’ve used the Pod for 3 years and it’s been great for me but it’s just not versatile enough and I find it can be a bit too big/bulky for what it actually is. If it was smaller then I’d have it on a pedalboard with a few other effects cos I think some of the things it does are great. I don’t want to put all my eggs in 1 basket to find that the Pod was actually my perfect solution. Basically what I’m saying is “don’t rush into it”. Try and have a crossover period where you have the option of both the Boss GT6-B and another pedalboard made up from a few separate units. I think doing this will help you work out what you need from your effects, cos it’s helping me realise what I need at the moment. Hope that helps.
*Steals POD* Woop woop woop woop! If you do think about selling it, do give me a shout! Anyway, the GT-6b is bloody insane! My friend (a 'tarist) has had the GT-6 for a couple of years, and has only really just figured how to use it all! That's how huge the possibilities are!
9. Assassin - Muse Testing my speedy alternate picking to the limit.
10. Muff and KP sold pending the usual
11.
I'll go like second or third or something? I'm currently reading hitch hikers guide (onto book 4 now) and guy pratt, my bass and other animals and i wouldn't want to keep you guys waiting ages
Once I've finished with it (shouldn't take too long, I'm a fairly fast reader) I'll post it to Wayne, seeing as BB is going with HG2G at the mo (awesome books there)
12. Well, I've decided to go down the route of a multi effects jobbie, as it's easier for me to lug to practice and back twice a week. So, time to get rid of the pedals and such. All have had light use, bar the Big Muff, which is a bit more used, but still goes fine. Boss CEB-30 - £35+Postage Good solid Chorus pedal. usual Boss build quality Digitech Synth Wah (not a Bass one) £35+Postage Bit mental this, probabaly due to it not being the BSW, when it's with me bass, it's either a rather odd sound or a good one. Good for a guitarist I suppose! US Little Big Muff Pi £35+Postage Classic Fuzz here. A nice wide range of tones and the sustain control can go from a nice crunch to what I call "Uber Death Fuzz-Feedback" which is always good fun! Korg Mini Kaoss Pad £70+Postage (open to reasonable offers) SOLD PENDING This is great fun, basically an X-Y touch pad controlled Effects Processor. Loads of filters and modulation effects. Flangers, Phasers, Delays, and it also has a capture and hold sampling ability. Berhinger PB1000 Pedal Board £45+Postage Not the best board out there, but value for money wise, it's great. Space for 12 Boss sized stompboxes. Has 6 foam inserts with two holes each (one of the holes on one insert is cut to the size of the Big Muff) and comes with all the leads and stuff (daisy chain for PSU, patch leads) Original Boxes & Manuals for all (except the pedal board oviously) Cheers guys!
13. Mentioned this to my mate today, so he'll probabally be coming with me. 30 days (I think)
14. "Ceiling Cat is Watching You" Can't beat old Meme related sticker you find in your room! ^_^
15. Went and got it from the DHL Centre today, so I've put my sticker on, and taken a photo. I must say I do like the colour; it's a translucentey purple, which I hadn't noticed in the other photo. Here it is with me old Squier, and yes, I need to tidy my room!
16. Pah Dumelow, you stole 2 of mine! In 1 - 3 order: Chris Wolstenholme - Muse Timmy C - RATM, Audioslave Flea - RHCP
17. Taka Hirose from Feeder Good solid player, and some of the stuff he does it pretty nifty"
18. God, that's a nice colour! It'll be in Warwick in a couple of days, just in time for band practice!
19. Bit of Muse at the mo, but as per usual iTunes is on shuffle, so last was No More Heroes by The Stranglers and next we have The Terminal by Pendulum
20. If you make sure you know the bassline completely solidly, then just play it (along with the CD or whatever if necessary) and try to layer in the singing.
21. To put it slightly less bluntly, there's already a thread on this, with a fair few pages on it. I've already signed it, as have many people.
