1. Ah cheers, that's rather handy. Also gives me a reason to go to B'ham that isn't just to go to Borders. My guitarist didn't have a clue what I meant when talking about Cabs/Amps... One day they'll understand...
2.
Take a trip into Birmingham - it isn't too far from Warwick. You can definitely play a MAG300-210 at PMT .
Will take a trip there next time I'm over there. It's a more expensive trip though now, what with having to pay more because I'm a) now an adult, ticket wise, and the price rises. Station wise, it's nearish New Street isn't it? I've been to Reverb and Digital Village a few times, but they're closer to Snow Hill.
3.
Yes, we do Hole in the sky, Black Sabbath, we also did a track called Woman, ( I think that's what is was called) for our own enjoyment....can't think of the bands name now, big sort of hammond sound stuff.
Woman by Wolfmother? pretty fast and shouty, but good fun!
4. As OTPJ said, the Digitech JamMan is great (especially for the price) and can do infinite layers and blah. Guitarist has one, and if youre intending to use it live, it could maybe do with a bit of practice first, but it is really well made and as such is pretty reliable. Delay wise, there's the usual Boss ones, ranging from simpler ones like the DD-3 to the beast that the DD-20 is. There's also the EHX Memory Man, though I've not played with that. There'll be all of the other brands that I don't really know aswell. I'm sure someone can give a better list. By the way, these two types of pedal are definitely not the cheapest around, so if you're on a budget it might be worth keeping an eye on the for sale section and eBay.
5. A delay will just repeat the note or whatever your delaying at a certain rate over a certain period of time. You can also set the delay to decay at a different rate, so the tone/volume/sound/something will fade out (or something like that) A looper will allow you to capture a certain section of a song (eg 4 bars or something) and it will then repeat endlessly in a loop, so whilst that's playing, you can layer other stuff ontop of it.
6.
ha ha Mine has a bass like my Japanes P bass. I specifically like the detail of the rear of headstock strap peg ... Odd isn't it .. I don't think Western cartoonists even know basses exist And there FLCL who plays (or at least carries and fights with) a bright blue lefty Ric 4001
And I can see this thread going into a whole new area. Have you seen any of the 'The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzimiya' series? Episode 12, there's a nice Lakland Bob Glaub Series in Lake Placid Blue. Can't remember where I read that though... 7. Now that I've got me a job, I'm now in a better position financially, and I'm thinking about upgrading my amp (got a natty little Ruble 15 jobbie at the mo). Now this will be the first Amp/Cab I've bought and budget wise, I'm thinking about £350 - 500 or roundabout. I'm not a huge expert on cabs and such, but from making random stabs ("Ooooh, that looks rather good") I was thinking something along the lines of a 2X10 and then a head of some sort. So, advise away! Cheers guys!
8. We play Avril Lavigne's Girlfriend (not like that) every so often, mainly because it's a right laugh to play, and also because it seems disturbingly popular with our main fans... Also OldGit, I see your Avatar and raise you a Jazz!
9. NIIIIIICE! That black is lovely, the natural looks rather nice, and the sunburst is one of the few Sunbursts I actually like! I wonder what they'll play like?
10. Fun little pitch shiftery thing (octave up and down, tracks fairly well), also has 3 delay settings. It's not really for me, so it's on the shelf, so to speak. Looking for £50 posted, though reasonable offers are welcome. They stopped making these in '94 (I think) so there's no box or manual, but it's pretty simple to figure out, though the delay controls work backwards to most other delay pedals. Cheers Jim
11. Gonna be different, and vote C. Why? Because I like it!
12. Ooooooo, I forgot about this! That has improved my day!

If you get a chance, having a play with that new red EBS Wah pedal would be cool!

Muse Bass Sound
Muscle museum is just plenty of compression and played right by the neck without much force IMHO. On the CD there is a piano doubling the part which makes it sound much more interesting. I don't know if it's actually a piano, someone disagreed with me on the Muse board about it once, but it sounds just like a piano doubling the part. It would be amazing if it was a pedal though!
Yeah, I've noticed that Piano part, though as you say it may well not be a Piano! So many pedals to buy at the mo...
15.
HAHA that last one is so cool. I want I want. Where is it from?
Hang on, how old are you? I'm only 16, and I got the Stingray joke! "ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN IN THE NEXT HALF HOUR!" Back on topic, I still think black looks better for a natural body, however, the tort does look nice!

Kaoss Pad

Superb! Now, to find one! Thanks for the help guys; this is why I love this forum!

Kaoss Pad

I had a look on the Korg forums, and it seems that everyone gets this. Can't quite be sure why, but yes. With the LS-2 can you run both loops at the same time then? So with the KP in one, and the other pedals in the other, is it possible to use both loops together?
18. Just went downstairs to check on the state of food, and mum was reading the Radio/TV guide thingy and spotted it. So I'll be watching! I don't think my dad knew that I knew who John Entwistle was...

Muse Bass Sound
if anyone wants a boxed animato ill be selling one in a week or so
God, that would be nice. It is however, out of my price range I imagine.

Kaoss Pad

Ah right. It seems to generally reduce the volume when the pad is on gnerally (it defaults to bypass when you aren't touching it / it's not on hold), so I guess the LS-2 is the way to go. So would the Kaoss be in a seperate line by itself? I'm not too up on how the whole line selction thing works. Cheers for the help!

Kaoss Pad

Right, I see. I've just had a thought; would one of these work, if I put it just after the Kaoss Pad in the chain? That way it could boost the volume back up to where it originally was, without interfereing with the rest of the pedals...
22. Dead Star by Muse, the timing is a bit awkward for me, but I've pretty much got it. Oh, and if your Sex is on fire, then the chances are you have got herpies or something similar.

Kaoss Pad

Yeah, having done a little research, it looks like a DI box would help/solve the problem. Need to get hold of one now =/
24. I was in their Brum shop today buying me new toy (Kaoss Pad) and I have nothing but good things to say (long story)! I reckon the problem might be down to the UPS shipping; there was a bloke who was checking out a guitar, and then noticed that it had a huge bump (more of a smash, and the inlay on the fretboard was damaged (didn't see how). One of the guys said that that was the 3rd item that had been shipped by UPS that had been damaged en route. Who knows?

Kaoss Pad

Just got me a Mini KP and I have to say, it's a lot of fun, (and the hold function is rather handy for my plan) however, it does seem to have the issue that whatever you put through it, the volume seems to drop by about 50% or so. IS there any way I can rectify this, besides just turning the amp up more?
