DiD YOU GET TO TRY THE 4X10 NEO
Yes i did, but briefly........I came from using a trace 4x10 but the EBS was clean, tight and pwerful with more punch and very responsive to the higher frequencies. I find the combination of 210 and 115 best suited for me and the size was convenient also. I recommend that you try out this stuff as it is very subjective
  2. Have you advertised it in the gear for sale section for everyone to see, and maybe if you contact Garethp15 above directly you may have a better chance of selling......

I think that Bernie's basses have a much wider spectrum of use than just benefiting from being played through EBS gear. The basses are awesome and so is the amplification. I favour the 115 and 210 with hd 350 head. The 15 gives a great piano type tone at the low end and great clarity, and is not at all flappy. I had a 212 on loan from Bernie and that was a little more rounded in its sound, but i found them both similar in the amount of punch. The 15 was the keeper in the end
  4.
If the usual dont work out, I'll do it for £150
The usual did work out so its now sold. Thanks for all your interest
  5.
So, I was practising my sight-reading at the moment, and, as I have a book of Bach preludes adapted for bass in my pc, it got me thinking - is it worth practising to sight-read classical music? Ok, it's chords, big intervals and such, but, on the other hand, it's pretty straightfoward - 90% of time there goes groups of 16th notes, and that's it.. So, is it worth to sight-read classical stuff? Faith..
Read bass and treble clef, and as much of it as you can, read anything if its possible. It will open a whole new world on transcribing solo pieces from different instruments and you will not be limited. You'll also gain a greater understanding of the other instruments you are transcribing
  6. Sold, pending the usual.

  10.
This bass, along with the Jap Bound neck Jazz and a Squier VMJ fretless, is now back on board with the resurfacing of the instrument I was sniffing around. Please note there was no intended prevarication on my part, just nerves and a lack of concrete information from the other party. 1973 Rick 4001 FG Wavy Grover keys Non-full-width inlays Cheq binding Toaster front pup Rear pup has adjustable pole-pieces Original black RIC case Bit of buckle-rash and a few scratches, given its age Minimal tail-lift No neck issues whatsoever. Been strung with Warwick Reds .040-.095 for the last three years Offers in the region of £2k invited. Would prefer local pickup or arrange your own courier. Overseas bidders welcome. Please see the other bass I have up. Any Qs, fire away.
PM'd you
  11. Ladies and Gentlemen, I have one of these and would gladly exchange it for your [s]£140[/s] £130 plus postage which I think was £13 (any less then that's great, anymore then I'll chip in). It would appear that it is the time of year for selling these..... I recently bought this from a forum member, about a month ago or even less. Took it out of the box and carry bag, fired it up, played around a little and its been sitting gathering dust ever since that day. It is a great piece of kit without a doubt, but I honestly don't think I will ever use it. I am not into making a profit on this, just would like to get back what I paid for it. It includes power supply for UK and Europe, the original instruction manual, some quick start guides, the carry case and a little dust if you wish, at no extra charge.... So, feel free to PM me if you are interested, or if you are local and want to try it out that's fine also. Steve
  12. Blimey, just beat me to it...... mines appearing later also....
  13.
I would deduce from this post that someone is interested.
Wrong............
  14.
I dunno what to post the '73 at, that's the thing! It's one of my several 'investment yet playable' guitars, ie vintage and non-pristine. I'm really nervous about floating this but I cannot see me wanting more than £2K for it; much more than that seems a bit unrealistic. Will see what they're going for on Gbase. That said, I know they'll be stupid prices.
Staker, At the end of the day its a feeler, and until the bass is sold at an acceptable price to you, its still a feeler. If you are so stressed about the price and putting it on offer or even selling it, do some research, get your prices right and come back to us.... its not like we are all going to hold you to a price on your bass and seek you out if you pull out of the sale..... You will also find that people on this forum will soon tell you if you are underselling, and that should reassure you that fair is fair.... Go for it, you have nothing to loose Steve
  15. Hi, You dont have to withdraw your PM request, just post your prices i guess
  16. Dont forum rules state that you should give a price ather than rely on PM's??
  17. Can you post some prices please?
  18.
*sigh*
So, do you want to tell us what your point is? When i say "us", that is assuming anyone is actually really interested??
  19. Anyone see what Paul Westwood can do with a Honer Jack 5 String?? Certainly holds up what Valera24 says
  20. Have mailed you at Dawsons...... Problem solved, he can stay at mine as long as he doesnt steal all my licks Steve
Will do Supabock! Could you email a contact number to [email protected]? We don't do anything bad with contact details, it's just in case anything changes last minute. Golchen, how far are you? We've got loads of free parking and couldn't be easier to get to from Reading station! I forget to mention earlier but if anyone knows anyone that might be interested in coming please try your best to let them know. This is all being arranged somewhat last minute (2 weeks ago we got an email saying 'Stu Hamm might be available for a clinic, would you be interested?' and 2 days ago we got an email asking us recommend a hotel and book a taxi!) meaning we're slightly up against it in terms of getting the word out so any help is greatly appreciated! Cheers guys!
22.
Just looked at Phil's profile and I see he's not been about since Feb 24th. Hope all good with him.
Well i hope so also, but it would suggest that he is not picking up his private email either as he'll get a notification at the very least that people on the site are trying to contact him....Anyone on the site know him personally??
  23. I have the J-Retro Deluxe fitted to my Sei bass, and have to sat that the variation and quality of the unit is incredible, great warmth, definition at both highs and lows and nothing that is harsh on the ears. I have no difficulty dialling in the variety of sounds that are required in most, if not all musical situations today!! I had some PUP problems with the Sei in terms of generating buzz and noise so I gave John, who was most accommodating a call to see if he could help out. Without any hesitation and unknowing that it was the PUPs, and at really very short notice John invited me over, made me a cuppa, made the mods to the PUP cavities and also some soldering repairs, all I must add had nothing to do with the J Retro. Gave the pre amp the once over and a clean bill of health was given.... Now, in my mind, you would need to go a long way to find such a service, and Such a product. So all you basschatters out there, give the J-Retro some serious consideration as you'll not be at all disappointed. If you are reading this John , thanks again for all your help and especially at such short notice. Steve
