1. Latest in the saga... guitarist 1 has full out refused to play it or anything between now and the end of august... *rolls eyes*
2. Thanks guys for all the comments... we've been offered 2nd in a 4 band bill on the 26th July.... just trying to convince the guitarists now.... *rolls eyes*

5. I'm so glad you guys think evil like me lol!
6. Thanks. We're actually looking at the possibilty of a gig in the near future (I've told them early august and am awaiting dates.) which is where this has all come about. I think I'll just get it booked and then tell them to turn up with their gear or face a kick to the balls... lol!
7.
I'd say just go for it..... you and your band mate will gain alot from playing live. It's very different from rehearsing and bedroom playing. You'll all gain a lot of experience from playing live and it will also boost the confidence of those that are not feeling quite there yet. J
Thanks... this is what I'm trying to tell them. The only way we're going to get good enough is to put the effort in but at the mo we've got no reason to work other than playing for fun... so the way I see it is we'll MAKE ourselves ready..
8. Our band has been together about a year but we've only had the current line up for about 4 months. We've got 2 of our own songs and a mix of covers. Me, the drummer and singer are all really keen to gig, the sooner the better but the guitarists have both been saying we're not ready, we've not got enough songs, they're not tight enough etc etc etc etc for what seems like ages. When we play well we're really tight and sound great (Yes I'm biased lol) and I'm confident that if we all put the effort in we could have a decent 1/2 hr mix of our own stuff and some covers by early august... What do you guys think? When were you 'ready' to gig... or did you just dive in head first?
9. I have to agree with those who's mentioned forming a side project with the guitarist. Or even just joining another band but running the 2 simultaniously as it doesn't sound like your current band requires all that much effort..
10. I had a cheap Encore P-bass. You know one of these ones that comes in the package with a rubbish little amp, strap that snaps after 2 uses and picks that snap in half... I'm glad I've upgraded Like this but not as good... lol!
11.
If your drummer needs 20 takes to get a basic track down. Get a new drummer!!!!!! Problem sorted. Nick
My thoughts exactly.
12.
MB1. 74% of bear owners who expressed a preference said there paddington prefered it!
Hmmmm I don't own a bear... the only hairy beast in this house is my husband..
13.
I have a question. All over this site there are male bassplayers calling their basses 'she' or 'the girl'. Do female bassplayers call their instruments 'the boys'?
My basses are my babies Well.. apart from the 2 babies that are actually children.. but I digress...
14.
MB1. Marmite on your G string?
Ewwwwwwwwwwww marmite?
15. My 5 string cost £150, my 4 string cost £139. Love them both although am looking at a new 4 string as not entirely happy with the sound from my current one.

17. Gwen Stefani's got some great basslines... as much as I hate to admit it..
18. For me I would never contemplate spending more than £300 on a bass, regardless of tone but that's because I'm a tightass...
