  1. Well here are some more photos sent through to me
  2. Think I will stick to flea basses!!!
  3. There is the Mark bass Alan Caron lite 121h which is a one combo solution, it pumps out all its 500watts and is the same size as the 121h...

  5. good price for this beauty!
  6. A moment of weakness! I'm over it now..... Now I just need to find a sparkly purple flea bass πŸ™‚
  7. I think you're right, dodgy decal with dodgy placement means dodgy bass! Thanks
  8. [quote name='chrisanthony1211' timestamp='1449417720' post='2923342'] I thought the decal was period correct from what I can work out, I shall put a link in for the site I used for this when I get home, it was the positioning which had me wondering! I've got a picture of the neck stamp as well which I shall put on. 9. Is the placement of vintage fender decal pretty random? I'm looking at a 65 precision, neck stamp looks good but the decal looks a little to close to the nut, the e in fender is under the string tree, could this be period correct? I know they were put on by hand so there is obviously some fluctuation
  10. I currently have a a CMD 121p which I stack on top of a NY 12 extension cabinet which is the same size, the 121p is insanely small and lightweight for what it can do, and is probably my preferred combo given weight power size. You can tell quite a difference when the cab is added in the bottom end, and of course you then get the full 500 watts! I've also had the CMD 102p which is also great, loud, still pretty light, and an uncomfortable one handed lift. I have had a walkabout 12 before I which I really loved, I keep thinking of swapping to a walkabout again, but never quite take the plunge. To my ears the walkabout sounds better, but not much better, and the Mark bass stuff is just so usable, light and small...... I've never used the 121h before, but do sometimes consider swapping my extension cab for a 121h?...
  11. I've spotted a very reasonably price traveler 121h of evilbay.......may be worth a punt and see how it goes!
  12. I currently have a Mark bass CMD121p which I pair with a NY12 cabinet, which is a pretty awesome combination, my current thoughts are that would it be even better stacked on top of a traveler 121h? If so, how much extra bottom end would I be getting, and does it stack like the NY12 cab which fits perfecty into the slots on the combo? Anyone with experience of this?
  13. I was just about to pull the trigger when it sold, took me ten minutes to convince the wife it was a bargain!, http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=181943122655&globalID=EBAY-GB
  14. I Just bought a darkglass vintage deluxe pedal from Mark, good bloke to deal with and posted it special delivery the next day, deal with confidence.
  15. I shall have the darkglass, I've messaged you.
  16. I shall have it if it's still available!
  17. Hi, I'm interested in the DHA, where abouts are you?
  18. I know this will depend upon the size of the speaker, but is there any generalisation about how much lighter neo speakers are? I'm thinking about picking up something like an SWR redhead and making it a little lighter! Would swapping out the speakers make much of a difference?
  19. Hi, whereabouts are you?
  20. Drummers are an interesting breed, we've got through copious amounts over the years, maybe it's because they know that they're in short supply, but I've not met many without an attitude issue! Having said that, our current drummer seems to be an exception, but time will tell....
  21. I don't currently have a status, but I have had a stealth 1, an S2 Classic, and a barracuda. I really miss that stealth which was a cracking bass!
  22. Whilst bass trawling through eBay yesterday, It struck me that the introduction of lightweight combos and cabs has led to some fantastic bargains out there, if you don't mind lugging about a bit of weight. The SWR Redhead and super Redhead cheap as chips and sound fantastic, and not much sounds better (or louder) than a Peavy Bam which you can pick up for about Β£300 which is crazy when you think that they retailed at overΒ£1500 when new! The heavy Mesa combo's like the venture, carbine and boogie buster seem to hold their prices a little better, what other "heavy but sound awesome" bargains are out there?
  23. Value for money wise, you can pick up an SWR super redhead on eBay for a very decent price at the moment, which is possibly one of the best sounding combos ever made. The down side is the weight, as they weigh about the same as a small European country, but that's the reason you can pick them up so cheap second hand! There's also a Peavy Bam which is also an amazing sounding feature packed combo, but this weighs even more! But again, that's why you can pick them up so cheap now, when new both these combos would have been Β£1500 plus!
  24. I've been on a bit of a string mission recently, looking for that string that's not too bright and clingy, not too mellow, not too rough, not too smooth, I'm currently using GHS pressure wound which fit my needs pretty well at the moment! I'd like to try the Ken smith compressors too, but they are like the proverbial rocking horse poo in the UK!
  25. Now that's a combo! And a bargain at a mere Β£ 1,714.61pence........
