1.
Tell that to Miles Davis ( a bit late now, I suppose). He was regarded as "Mr Cool" personified. He had little interaction with his audiences and often played an entire concert with his back to them. Granted he was one of a kind....just sayin'.
I saw Finley Quaye (remember him?) at Brixton Jam the other week and he didn't look at the audience once, no talking, no thank you and was either side-on or had his back to a packed room. Miles Davis could probably get away with it, Quaye was just arrogant with it (and high on weed). It's not so much about talking to the audience but making sure they feel a part of what you're doing musically.
 2. Ok, mine's a small list, bear in mind I'm only in my early twenties...

Squier Precision Bass - bought as a beginner, sold after 2 years
Maverick S4 Nemesis (red) - sold when I bought...
Maverick S5 Nemesis (black) - made the jump up to 5-string, sold when I bought...
Musicman Stingray 5 (black/maple) - recently sold on here
Musicman Stingray 5 (stealth)
Epiphone Rivoli (1964 in sunburst)
I wish it was a bit more interesting but I'm very happy with the current two, would like a nice P bass at some point, and try out some other makes. Haven't ever really had the money (or G.A.S) to warrant more than this over 13 years of playing, and have kept my Ashdown ABM Evo II 500 c115 combo for about 8 years now.
 3. I want a [insert instrument here], got bad G.A.S. Alternatively, you had a dodgy curry last night and now you have really bad GAS!
 4.
Not seen 'em myself - not really my cuppa tea - but a drummer mate, who's a fan, saw them at Knebworth a couple of years ago. Underwhelming was how he described it.
I thought that might be the case. IMO most bands don't suit somewhere as big as Knebworth anyways. I'm a fan of academy sized venues.
I saw them headline Reading in 1999... although I was on mushrooms so don't remember if they were any good...
Haha. This made me laugh Rob.
 5.
Would have been nice if Flea was actually plugged in....
I was too tired to notice when I was watching it. Haha. I agree with MiltyG565, it would be awful if you'd paid to see them specifically live, saying that people were spending $2000 to be there (to see football). Bruno Mars did a good job as a performer, still don't think I'll start listening to his music. Has anyone seen RHCP live? I haven't and am wondering whether it's worth it if the opportunity comes around.
 6. Not sure which of you basschatters would've watched this but this is the halftime show from the Super Bowl. Start with a drum solo from Bruno Mars (which isn't actually too bad). The Red Hot Chili Peppers came out for one song too. Thoughts? (Sorry if the video doesn't work, was the first one on YouTube I could find).
 7. Pro-Ject do a great new turntable for about £150, the Elemental I believe. Bought it for my girlfriend for her birthday (her dad had an amazing collection). Comes with a built in phono stage if you go for the USB version. Comes with a decent enough Ortofon cartridge too. I don't know huge amounts about used turntables but did a fair bit of research on this price for new ones.
 8. Owen got in touch to buy my Stingray 5. He paid straight away and was a pleasure to sell to. Highly recommend dealing with him. Thanks Owen!
 9. Feedback time for people I've bought from and sold to...
 10. After 4 months and many conversations, my beloved Stingray is off to a new home.
 11. Just a thought... Could you rehearse with them somewhere in the middle? Or every few times they come to you? No harm in asking them.
 12. I've been playing 5-string since I was 14 (9 years ago) and haven't looked back. Even if you don't use the lower notes regularly it's a great option to have available, and it saves on down tuning the E at any point. For a while I was playing in a 'hardcore' band and that required the lower notes during the breakdowns. Also, it's easier if you have to borrow a bass, you'll know how to play both 4- and 5-string basses.
 13. If you haven't heard this, check it out: https://soundcloud.com/okayplayer/dangelo-live/s-L34Rn It's a live mix of D'Angelo and features Pino with some really great bass playing. Can't get enough of it.
 14.
Lovely Stingray! Fancy a swap for a Spector Euro LX4?
Hi Scott, this is not really my kind of bass unfortunately. Sorry mate.
 15. I really want the refin but can only buy when I've sold my Stingray 5.
