  1. Really nice. I have never seen one of these before. I have the jazz version and love the action and weight. Good luck with sale, Mick.
  2. Beautiful looking bass. That would be the only type of stingray that I would be able to play as I like to rest my thumb on the front pick-up of any bass that I play. GLWS, Mick.
  3. Thanks once again Martin for your info. You're right about the value of the 600s. I think I gave about 130 euro (£110) for it and to be fair it's a good head. I also have contacted that guy on Talkbass and he has been very helpful. Cheers, Mick.
  4. Thanx for the replys lads. I'l get on the ball now. There's nothing bad about the backline, it's just the speakon connections on the 700 that seem a waste to let go, regards, Mick.
  5. Hi chaps, I had a GK 700rb but burned out the power amp in it some months ago. The guy who was fixing it said that it wasn't worth fixing. I then bought the lesser backline600 (no offence anyone who has it) second hand and cheap. Just wondering if I would be able to use the power amp from the backline to get the old girl up and running. Just a question before I go back to the guy again and I can pretend I know what I'm talking about ha. Cheers, Mick.
  6. If I was closer to you I'd buy it to go with my ampeg 4x10 but alas it's not to be. GLWS, Mick.
  7. Hi Mark and welcome. I was recommended DR high beams 45-105s a couple of years ago and I haven't used anything else since. They tend to keep their new twangy sound much longer than any other make. Only a personal choice though. Hope this helps, Mick.
  8. Welcome Charlie. I'm fairly new to this site myself but it's excellent and full of helpful people. It's a tad easier to learn nowadays what with all the sites and youtube etc. Keep practising, regards, Mick.
  9. I used practically the same rig for a gig we were doing a couple of years ago. A fabulous set-up that is so light to transport. Although I'm an Ampeg lover, this is about the only rig I would be tempted to change to. GLWS, Mick.
  10. I have an 83 jv jazz model in sunburst and the little dings seem to be in the same places. GLWS, Mick.
  11. Brilliant amp. Used the 650 version and it was excellent. Love the volume going to 11 ha. So original. GLWS.
  12. Hi Marvin, I recently bought a 600 backline to replace the 700rb that I fried. I took the ears of the 700 to put on to the backline so I have a set of white coloured ears that you can have for free if you are willing to pay postage. Cheers, Mick
  13. Sorry for the late reply lads but I'm fairly new to this forum and still a bit of a virgin but I had the above set-up exactly and loved it. I then fried the 700rb and bought the lesser backline 600(because it was cheap) but it wouldn't lace it's boots. All in all the Ampeg 410 HE is a great cab.
  14. That's one classy looking bass. Something about them in white appeals to me. GLWS. Mick.
  15. Probably 1 of my favourite albums ever. Moonchild still makes the hair stand up. Regards, Mick.

Hi, mine is practically identical to yours. Fantastic bass and I bet there will be tears when you let her go ha. Good luck with sale, Cheers, Mick.
  17. Thanks for that Alex. It might be worth taking a chance on it as it's not huge money. Cheers, Mick.
  18. Yeah, agree with Lozz in that you should check out gigs and never panic into buying as some other players rig always seems to sound better ha. Personally.2 rigs come to mind for me that I have played through. 1st, an Ampeg 4 pro with it's 4x10 and a 15 below and 2nd an EBS TD 650 with a Neo 2x10 and a Neo 1x15 ( the volume goes up to 11) Both take up a lot of room in your vehicle though. Regards, Mick.
  19. Hi, I see one of these for sale on a site here in Ireland and although I'm not in a serious panic to replace the head that I fried, I'm just wondering if anybody could give me a heads up on what the reliability and quality are like on these as I've always used either GK or Ampeg in my life. I think the seller is probably looking for about 200 pounds (235 euro) Many thanx, Mick.
  20. Fabulous looking amp. Always wanted one of these. Viewing it would be a bit difficult though. Good luck with sale it's not expensive at that. Cheers, Mick.
  21. Will do when I get the hang of this computer lark ha. I'l have to get one of the kids to do it for me I'm afraid.
  22. Thanks for that Lozz. I will do. Not in any crazy urge to sell but seems a waste to have it gathering dust. Thanx once again. Mick.
  23. Hi guys, I am new to this forum and it was recommended by a fellow bass player. I bought a Squier Jazz new back in 83 (jv serial number) and played it up to about 8 years ago as I picked up a Fender Aerodyne at the right money. The Squier has the usual dings that you would expect for a 30 year old but looks brilliant and plays fab and was just wondering what kinda cash they are making in todays market. Kind regards, Mick.
