1. http://www.konbini.com/us/entertainment/jamiroquai-announced-new-album-release-no-one-paying-attention/ Looking forward to this. Been entirely too quiet from that camp for too long. I'll be catching them on tour, and Paul Turner may have to wrestle me from his leg!
2. Broken. Already. Pressed on. Nothing happened. I turned it round and - I swear - very carefully - moved the swivelly bit out of the way to look at the battery compartment. Aaaaand it snapped off.
3. Just got home to find my tuner waiting for me. All is right with the world. I am gruntled again.
4. That really is stunning. What did you use to clean/polish that? A credit to you, sir, a beautiful instrument.
5.
I've just had the same email. I'm in no rush either, so haven't bothered clicking on the tracking info.
I have had zero email and zero tuner.
6.
Don't worry - if it doesn't turn up you can have one of mine.
That's awfully nice of you. Thank you It will come, though. Or someone will pay with their neck*. Mwuhaaahaa. *Not you.
7. Well, my mate received his, and I have received zero tuners. I ordered mine first. I'm somewhat disgruntled, and will not be gruntled again until my tuner arrives. Just as an aside - conversation at work today talking about awaiting a tuner was interrupted by someone asking why I ordered it online instead of just buying it in the supermarket. Took me a moment to realise they thought I had ordered a consignment of canned fish which I was impatiently awaiting arriving from Chicago. You can tune a piano, etc etc.
8.
The producer confirmed it too - An Akai 900 sequencer or something. I'll try and find the interview again.
Tell you what - they've done a helluva job. Sounds like legit bass to me.
9.
@ Funky Dunky, I have done a transcription for 5-string in the original Eb, plus an adaptation for 4 in E. PM me if you want the pdf (standard notation only).
That's really good of you, thank you! I can't read music though The shame!
10. Duder be rockin' a fretless in the video: http://youtu.be/tT4d1LQy4es
11.
That's the most convincing synthesized bass sound I've ever heard!
It really is! So much so that I'm still not 100% convinced it could have been a synth, in spite of Ms. Myles' testimony! So authentic-sounding. It sounds woody and everything!
12. Yeah, I alluded to this in the initial post, Alannah Myles confirmed it in an interview a while back.
13. Yeah this will impresse nobody, but my Jim Deacon Precision copy It's pink. It's crap. But it was the one that started it, and it was gifted to me by a friend, so I kinda feel like it's still hers and I'm the custodian. It's the one that will go in the museum
14.
I'm not sure how many times I can keep recycling the 'When Doves Cry by Prince' joke. Maybe just once more
I don't know this joke!
15. Yeah I would imagine if the drummer rushes it, it could get ugly. Someone said 'heartbeat' - that sums it up quite nicely I think. That song is dependant on a steady pulse, and if you blow it, the whole thing would be ruined.
16. Just heard this on t'wireless - what a lovely bass part, particularly the fill leading into the verse. Cracking tone, too - sounds like a fretless for sure. Apparently, however, it's a synth?? An interview with Alannah revealed it to be a Korg synth with some kind of pitch wheel? Anyway....really nice. Might have to learn it. Anyone learned it?
17.
Did you put your location as B-Town? That may have confused the postal services...
18. The one I sent to my mate as a gift arrived today (he resides in Durham). Mine - which I ordered first - still hasn't
19. This song is now stuck in my head and has been all flamin' day. Thanks though, it's ace!
20. Bloody Rhythm Stick. It needs regular practice or I can't pull it out the bag. At all. So dang tricky!
21. Axl Rose loves 'em, Chinese Democracy was influenced in no small part by Spacehog, even the title.* As for Headswim - another cracking band, I loved some of their stuff. *Lies. All lies.
