    Thanks. It is and plays really well. I had decided I was a Precision man. And then changed my mind. Again. If I can find a Jap Jag then my precision lyte will be offski too. GAS has a lot to answer for.

    Up for Sale for £350 (or possible trade only for a MIJ Jaguar bass with cash your way) is this immaculate, Made in Mexico 2011 Anniversary Year Precision Bass. Now includes Gator foam padded hard case. The bass comes with original Fender high mass bridge, is in candy apple metallic red and has a black pick guard fitted which I think is after market. It weighs a touch under 9 pounds so is nice and light. The neck is a brand new All Parts Jazz neck with 38mm nut. It's finished in gloss nitro on the fret board and satin nitro on the back of the neck. The outline of the logo is practically invisible but if you look really really really hard you can just see the outline. It's just been set up by a local guitar tech, has brand new Warwick Red Label strings on and sounds superb. It plays nice and fast - no chunky P bass neck here, just a slim, fast Jazz bass neck........ The body is pretty much unmarked too with a couple of minor swirls on the back. It is a superb P bass. As a bonus and for provenance it has the original P bass neck which has a crack in the fret board visible on the higher frets. I am assured it's knackered but it's with it for provenance or somebody may be able to repair the truss rod / fret board. Anyway it's with it. As for possible trades, the only thing I would consider is a Japanese Jaguar bass - with cash your way. Based in Delamere, Cheshire if you want to give it a whirl. Can be shipped, delivered within a reasonable distance or can meet up.

    I say never been played... Apparently it was bought for the seller's husband by his father in the 90s. He tried it, didn't get anywhere and then put it into storage - in the loft....... It had a nice general gunky layer of dusty muck if that's a way to describe it and the frets were heavily tarnished. I guess I would too be if I'd been in a loft for 20 years.

    Just an update on this bass! All hardware been polished now, frets polished, rosewood board cleaned and lemon oiled (that took at least 5 hours to get 20 years of crap off the wood), loose wire in preamp soldered, new strings on, body lightly 0000 guage wool polished and set up by Ged Green in Cheadle. Ged's words "it's never been played". Result for a 24 year old bass. Will post some pics soon.

    For sale is one Gotoh GB7 bass extender for light weight style tuners. Just taken off a Japanese precision lyte as I don't use drop tuning. Good condition. Light use and no tarnishing. £45 shipped.

    For sale a pair of Marvel strap locks. Heavy duty. Perfect condition as I remembered after buying them that I only use schaller strap locks so I put them in my "spares bag". £5 posted.

    For sale is this fender buckle strap. Can't find info on it so that's all I can call it! One part attaches permanently to the bass and the buckles clips in. Very quick release. Seem very sturdy. Selling as I only use schaller lock straps. £10 including postage.

    I've just picked up this very bass from Dunster in Somerset. It's in need of a neck and body refinish, all hardware needs cleaning and polishing and it needs a battery cover and pick guard. However the neck is good, the preamp is there and it all works fine. It even sounds good despite its 20 year old strings so just a fettle is all that's required. That's me off to the potting shed for a while.......

    Due to an acquisition of two I need to let my Ovation Celebrity shallow backed semi acoustic 6 string go (to be honest it has 2 strings too many for me anyway). It's about 15 years old, hasn't been played too much but does have one finish blemish to the sound board, a ding on the headstock and a few minor scuffs to the top of the headstock. Other than that it's in good condition and plays / sounds great. The preamp has volume, bass, mid & treble controls plus it has eq on / off, pre-shape and mid shift push button controls. Now £150 includes uk shipping.

    Due to an acquisition or two I'm going to have to reluctantly let my Washburn AB10 semi acoustic bass go otherwise I'm going to incur legal expenses and a split of my marital estate. Fantastic playing bass with no issues. Washburn 3 band preamp, bass, mid, treble and presence boost / cut and volume, great neck, no dings or knocks that I can see so I'd have to describe it as in excellent condition (I surprised myself to find to nicks or dings). Never been out of the house and it's about 6 years old or so. The only thing it could do with is a set of new strings. Price reduction to £175 including uk shipping.

    Trade bait received but not yet ticking my fancy. Any trades need to be 4 strings and jazz nut width. Now if there was a USA Musicman Sterling knocking about that could tempt me severely.
