  1. So we have to keep eating them as otherwise they would die out, and if they died out they wouldn't be there to eat Indeed, one of those pointless arguments. But then my point for that bit was Zoos, and what the point of breeding programs there are. Never got that. Whats the point saving a Grey Rhino* or whatever, if there is no natural habitat where it can live? Not like things are going to get better and one day there will be a habitat for them again! *other endangered species are probably still available
  2. No, I said it was a simple point, whether you wanted it or not. I didn't refer to 'you' are in you, or any other specific person. It wasn't really a debatable thing as it depends entirely on your (as in 'ones') point of view - some people are happy with it, some people are not, and if you are not, all kind of other considerations are irrelevant.
  3. That always seemed like a non argument to me. The same as zoos (which I was always against). "We have to keep eating these animals as if we didn't they would die off' - well, fine, let them die off. Its only for our benifit that we want to keep them. If a breed (of anything) is no longer capable of survival without human intervention then it isn't a viable speciies and should be allowed to die out. Who are we keeping them alive for? not for them, its so we feel better about our selves. Take a picture of it, describe it in a book and let it die out. On the subject of 'without a market for meat it would die out' here is something for your enjoyment: https://www.elwooddogmeat.com/
  4. Not sure of your point - as I said, I am not a vegetarian, so I have nothing to defend here. My statement isn't whether something is ethical or good or environmentally friendly or not - especially the latter. If we cared about the environment we would be getting rid of people and maybe using their skin, that would be better. It is purely down to how the person who is buying something feels about it, whether they are happy with it or not.
  5. Of course it is. Are you happy wearing the flayed skin of a dead animal around your neck, yes / no.
  6. For completeness on the thread, here is the Denali strap (it also has a plectrum holder at the top)
  7. One of the funny things on the vegan forums and facebook groups. People are constantly complaining that things don't taste quite right, but when they do, everyone is paranoid that it isn't really vegan!
  8. Aparently a lot of people really really care if someone else chooses to eat meat or own leather. I am not a vegan, but my wife is and frankly it is an eye opener how other people are. My grey paisley one that I posted up there was a custom as it was only on their site as a guitar strap, but my wife wanted to get it for me for my birthday so she contacted them and got it made wider with extra padding.
  9. Thats one thing I love about them - although it would be irrelevant if they weren't good, but they are. Not only is it recycled and nothing was killed for it, some of those old cars had really good interiors, especially in the 70s. Well, maybe not for a car, but for a strap!
  10. Heres my two here:
  11. Sure - we were there a few weeks ago. Its a bit of a pain getting from ikea into town, but its a good open place to meet people.

Sold Matt a spectradrive, no hassle and he even overpaid! Great to do business with
  13. It will go loud, although obviously the louder you go the more distortion you get, although it takes a while to notice it, which is why people say valve watts sound louder, its more musical when driven. Goes loud enough for a loud drummer
  14. i like Amp II software, wondered if it translated the same. Sounds good
  15. I started liking the smoother tone, but now can't stand thuddy dull bass.
  16. Although my basses are wireless, I have two cables (a straight and right angle) that I got made with Neutrik (switching) jacks and van damme cables on eBay that have been fantastic, and not that expensive.
  17. I can't imagine that oil production will ever truly dry up, and even if it does, it doesn't mean you can't make plastic like materials. Even when you are not using petrochemicals for fuels, oils still have many uses.
  18. I really have wanted the white paisley none-more-white couch strap for ages, but its £50 before you add shipping from the states, and I also have no white guitars, so it would seem a bit pointless!
  19. What are the positive grid bias amps like? I was always interested but never really heard of anyone having one!
  20. Or not - China is the biggest exporter of leather, and get through an average of 2 million cats and dogs to produce it as you can't tell the difference anyway. And in that case is the primary source then, any meat is a byproduct. And even without that, the opposite, if you don't buy leather it will reduce the value of leather and reduce the value in killing cows. I am not vegan, or even vegetarian, but if there is a choice where both options are as good, I will go for the vegan option.
  21. Most of my straps are couch, and they are very comfy. They would be by go to strap. I also have a right on and one by Denali
  22. I have a couple of the RightOn straps. They are quite stiff but good none the less. However, I sold the blue bass my blue strap matched!
  23. Was never a huge fan of their pedals, but the X18, BCM2000 and other interfaces are brilliant. Also their synth revivals are good.
  24. I had a TC head with TC cabs (actually still do), but now use the Ashdown ABM600 with either the TC cabs or the basschat cab. Can't really pair that, because there isn't a basschat amp yet!
