1. I got mine, with an amp and passenger in a Citroen AX. The neck made for a nice armrest on long journeys.
2.
If you look under violin accessories, they've got a "Dick Chinrest" too, for extra comfort presumably! The Dick company have recently changed their name to Dictum to stop English speakers from giggling, but it seems Thomann didn't get the memo...
Is this something to do with "tea bagging" ?
3.
I'm going to move this to the Double Bass forum where you might get more interest .
Could you supply link to Double Bass Forum please. Bob M.
4.
Hi bob, yes this piece is for "solo tuning" double basses... Which in this case is tuned a wholetone up - F sharp, B, E and A!
Oh….
5.
The music is written in the key of G, but the performance is sounding in A. Any thoughts on this?
Anyone?

7. Gary bought my Mark Bass Mini CMD 121P combo. A great transaction, no problems and came up with the "necessary" right on cue.. He's a real bass fan as well! Many Thanks, Bob M.
8. Mark Bass Mini CMD121P 1x12 speaker with Piezo tweeter. 400W RMS, 500W RMS with extension cab. This unit is in immaculate condition, C/W padded bag with side handles and strap. It has had very light use and is in full working order. Apart from being great for rehearsals an smaller gigs, this combo works very nicely with D/Bass, the VLE control smooths the treble output from a piezo pick-up. It has all the usual effect loops, headphone and DI outs etc and makes a surprisingly big sound given it's size and light weight. Happy to supply any additional info. £425.
9. You won't need a pre-amp with a Suitcase or Briefcase, I've owned both, the input impedance is suitably high to match most DB pick-ups.
10. I've got one of these that I haven't used, I prefer standing up. If there's any interest I can put in in the for sale section. Bob M.
11. Mark Bass Mini CMD121P 1x12 speaker with Piezo tweeter. 400W RMS, 500W with extension cab. This unit is in immaculate condition, C/W padded bag with side handles and strap (cost £60), and is a mark 1 (late) model, bought just in time for me to work abroad (on Trombone), so it's actual use has been relatively little. This combo works very nicely with D/Bass, the VLE control smooths the treble output from a piezo pick-up. 12. I got it from Thomann in Germany, a big mistake, cheaper at GAK and I don't think that Polar would have any interest because of this. The techs at Thomann can't find a fault and I've contacted GK who are looking into it at the moment. 400 ohms good, 64 ohms bad..
13. Thanks for the feed back on this, pretty much as I expected. Now.. should I sell? Bob.
14. Bump anyone? Have found that high impedance 'phones (400 ohms) don't hiss, all low impedance do. But Thomann tested with low impedance (75 ohms) and all was ok. Duh.. Bob.
15. I'm thinking of selling a Markbass Mini CMD 121P in it's custom made gig bag. This is a earlier model, before the line-out volume was added but is in VGC, the only wear is a fraying of the rubber at the edge of the handle. It has no dents, marks of any description and has been used in a jazz/semi acoustic environment. Has anyone seen similar for sale? I've not seen many of these about. Thanks, Bob M.
16.
Have you considered re-furbing the old 200MB? I liked the MB150's I had, but really do prefer the warmer sound of the 200MB - much more musical to my old ears.
It's in such a poor condition, it got used pretty much 6 nights a week throughout it's life. Don't forget that the 200MB has a limiter permanently engaged which might explain the different response. I've got a few gigs this weekend and will experiment with the adjustable one on the 150. I had a PJB Bass briefcase, the best sound for the size but not practical for me, and the controls where way too small for my old eyes..
17. Just got the old 200MB out, and there is some hiss in the headphones but nothing like on the new MB150..
18. The speaker on the 200MB blew out in bits a few years ago, and I tried to fit the spare that I had bought at the same time. Big mistake, the speaker was rear mounted and it was a hell of of a job to take the cab apart to fit the new one, which promptly blew as well.. Happy Days!
19. I had one in the late 80's, but I don't remember it remember it having this problem, I though "hiss" was a thing of the past..
20. Anybody out there using this model find an excessive hiss on the headphone out? It's the same level at at all volumes even with all controls set to zero. This is the second one from Thomann.de, their tech guys say that there is nothing wrong but have sent a replacement as goodwill, this has the same issue. The GK techs say take to a service centre... Bob M.
21. Phil Jones Briefcase. £299 inc uk shipping. In as new condition, and lack of use causes sale. Boxed with the "PJ" extra long mains cable, manual and a cover with blue edging. For full specs go to.. Briefcase Bass Amp Combo – Great Portability for Acoustic or Electric | Phil Jones Pure Sound I have sold a David Eden 1x12+horn on this forum and have a 100%rating on Ebay, and am happy to answer any queries you may have.
22. I want to sell my 1990 (longer scale) Ashbory Mk 2 Bass in VGC with bag and some spare strings, a big improvement over the currant "dogleg" model. Open to offers... Bob M.
