Put your wallet in the safe, walk carefully to the sofa and read a book on an unrelated subject for an hour or two...
Good advice there, though picking up my Lull generally eases any unjustified GAS
-
Yes, why not..? And an active/passive switch.
Starting to get GAS envy over here... EDIT - in keeping with the OT, TI's for me though please. My fingers are too naturally dubby for those lovely LaBella's.
My current Jazz GAS involves a Jazz body, a P neck and La Bella 760FS flats. And possibly a good Pre of some sort.
Series / parallel switch too?
No, just pictures. I'm disappointed to hear it's not great. I've seen Rory's original......
Sadly sunburst jazz guy is right, they look pretty awful in the flesh. And if you've been lucky enough to see the original it'd be game over!

Can't see what the problem is, they wouldn't make them if people didn't want them. I guess it's like the football fan that wants their fave players name on the back of the shirt, or the music fan girl who wants to wear Beyoncé perfume, they can do what they like with their £'s. I own a Modulus Flea, only signature bass I've ever owned. But that's because of the specs, though im a childhood Chili's fan it wouldn't bother me if it was a Flea or a Funk Unlimited model. I once had a Jeff Tweedy signature Martin acoustic too, just because I liked the spec. I was cool with that as it was a subtle signature model. I like the Eric Clapton Martins but couldn't deal with his signature on the fingerboard to be honest, or anyone's for that matter Over the years I've sold lots of signature basses and guitars to people who were really chuffed to buy them, I'm glad for them.

Bought a bass, all was good. Cheers.
Mrs C is far more practical with things like this than I am... I might ask her to do it and then tell you guys I did it myself so I don't lose the man points....
...she owns the 6 string Wal too eh?
-
Ha! Much obliged, I'll pick one up from town tomorrow...
Take a plate with you, they'll see you right. And have a beer in the fridge for after for when you tell the Mrs how hard it was.

It's one of these

File them carefully. Practice on the one you dislike the most

Back in 2006 working in the Bass Centre the Sandbergs outclassed the Fenders for the cash. And the owners of Sandberg were great too when they popped in, like muso Jurgen Klopp's

Black is way too 70's for me, even though it looks great. I'd go mint or vintage white, whichever you prefer of them. Nice catch Rob
I really like them too... My new (to me) MIJ Jazz has them as well. Is it a Fender Japan thing?
Yup, they were great at attention to detail amongst other things so many had vintage frets.
Er... HOW much for a non-original refinished Mustang?? You can get a proper 34" scale bass for that.
But, it's Brazilian rosewood. No really, it is, I guess because it's dark? Seriously. (Enter another 10 reasons not to buy it at that price here).

Candy apple red... Doesn't get much better than that. Looks great, enjoy!
Yes it did... was very buzzy when I first put it on. I ended up raising all the strings all up a bit suit the lowest possible position of the A. I've been trying to recreate the feel of an old MIJ P bass I had which played wonderfully well with low tension flats, but I think the feel of that bass may have been down to the vintage frets as much as the strings. Very pleased with the initial results having restring the Moollon with TIs. I'm going to give them a fair run before deciding to keep them or swap back to the la bellas.
Mmm... Vintage frets, they do have a great feel
Bought a set of TI Jazz Flats yesterday to try on my P bass as the la bellas felt a little stiff on the Moollon. Very impressed initially... Very different tension wise, had to adjust the truss rod, nice feel though. I shall let them bed in for a while and see if I prefer them.
Your A string may need a lift too, such bizarre gauges on these but still my fave string when they match the bass well.
Sold and bought a few things on here now and wanted to get my feedback thread going. Hopefully the peeps on here I've done deals with will kindly kick this thing off
Bought a book from Alex and the deal was all good every step of the way Cheers

Price drop to £500. (Station Music have two of these for sale at €1299, which is around £1040). 35 inch scale gives a killer B string and it has a comfy 17mm string spacing, so wider than the SR series and better balanced too. Korean made ( not Indonesia), mahogany and flame maple body, maple and walnut through neck, set up beautifully, custom Bartolini pickups (not the budget Mk1's that the cheaper models had), Bartolini pre amp, 3 band EQ, awesome 3 way mids selector switch, volume, pan and neutrik locking jack. It has that typical Bartolini tone, super clear, punchy and lots of boom in the locker. Sounds like a high end bass should do. Front is stunning and super clean, marks from use around the sides ( see pics). Frets have loads of life and are in great condition. Comes with fitted original hard case. Collection only, sorry, I can't send right now. ***PLEASE CLICK ON ANY PICTURE TO BE LINKED TO LOADS MORE***

I think the one I'm selling in my signature will give you back at last 10 times your investment Seriously though, I'm doubtful they will ever sky rocket but I honestly haven't a genuine clue and I'm sure someone more knowledgable on Warwicks will come by and shed some light. I gather from the Warwick forum that pre 1989 is considered early and 'vintage', but I pressume that the safest bets may be with the really early ones that had the older features. Either way, I love them and they certainly feel different to the later ones I've played.
