1. I'm in Harrow, HA1, (NW London/Middx)
2. I think the one I'm selling in my signature will give you back at last 10 times your investment Seriously though, I'm doubtful they will ever sky rocket but I honestly haven't a genuine clue and I'm sure someone more knowledgable on Warwicks will come by and shed some light. I gather from the Warwick forum that pre 1989 is considered early and 'vintage', but I pressume that the safest bets may be with the really early ones that had the older features. Either way, I love them and they certainly feel different to the later ones I've played.
3.
Love this! Where were you before Christmas?!😀 Ended up with a SS2, not that I'm complaining...
Cheers Andy, but with an '87 SS2 I reckon you're doing just fine
4. Very tempted, and I'm driving past York on Friday morning...
5. A bump for Russ and these basses, top bloke to chat to and deal with. Love the spec on these basses, as if Ibanez wasn't great value for £ already GLWTS
6.
Gorgeous. Always found old Thumb fivers to have either dull bubinga or that odd quilty type, this is lovely!
Cheers Kev, As well as missing the tone I'm going to miss it hanging next to my P Bass, lovely contrast! I've always found Thumb's to be unique in every way, gutted the body is too small for me
7. That looks lovely, nice one
8.
Doesn't it have a foam mute on it, that will engage with the strings if rotate the other way round? Does the neck heel break into the pickup cavity on all Tele basses? The back of the pickup looks a lot different from the one I'm selling, and all others I've seen pictures of. Never seen those C-stamped gasket things before.
The pickup looks right to me, as does the soldering to the volume pot. Fender and consistency back then was pretty hit and miss. The neck heel does break into the pickup cavity on these as the pickup is so close to the neck. Never tried spinning a cover around that has foam on it, could be the reason
9. Final price drop..... £1250 Classic Bubinga & Wenge and made in the golden era of Warwicks. The tone is amazing, the front pickup is simply stunning, the back pickup is punchy as sin and with both pickups on you get that lovely parallel wiring clean sound. It has the active / passive push / pull volume, two band EQ and pickup pan. It's a quick and easy neck, I've always preferred the early ones myself as they feel so comfy, especially for a 5'er. It has the original EMG pickups and MEC preamp. The jack socket has been replaced, original included, and a couple of wires have been extended to accomodate the new one. The control knobs are original but worn, I have some new Warwick replacement ones that I can give you (not pictured) It's been well played over the years, not abused, just appreciated It has wear and the condition is relative to it's age. It's had a fret stone in April, it plays great with no chokes, fret rattles or issues. It is 27 years old so there is some minor wear and a few light grooves but they should last a few years before needed anymore attention. It weighs around 10.4lbs, 4.7kg, not bad for a Thumb 5. This is a very reluctant sale, the tone and feel always put a huge smile on my face. Unfortunately I'm unable to post this one, so collection only please. ***CLICK ON ANY PICTURE TO BE LINKED TO MORE***
10.
Anyone else look on eBay for a Squier version to respray? First thing I did. Gorgeous.

11. I'd say refin though hard to say without looking and black lighting. It may of had work done, the tone pot and what I guess is extra shielding on the edge of the cavity. The pick up and pots could potentially just lift out without unsoldering, which is why the volume pot soldering looks legit. And I've never seen fender paint rub off like that on a wire before. I don't like how the pickup cavity or channel paint looks either. Shame there aren't more pics of the neck, does the wear on the neck match the body? Plus, when they say the 'jury is out', they usually know!
12.
Is anti-GAS a condition?
Exactly, been thinking that a lot myself. Since I got my Lull I've sold off some killer basses. Anti-GAS, love it.
13. I reckon it is possible to buy basses without having GAS, honestly My Lull P won't need replacing. Haven't had GAS since then. I bought a 5 since but only because I needed one. Though I absolutely love my Thumb 5 it sometimes winds up my back condition, even when seated, so I may need to get a larger bodied 5. I'm now casually looking for a G&L or cheap 34" Lull. That's need and not want. GAS would be a custom made Lull and though I could order one today I can't justify those figures so my GAS is controlled easily. My Modulus Flea may one day need to be sold if I need to cash in, so a second hand Stingray or G&L would replace that. Again, need and not want. Mike Lull cured my troublesome GAS so I've been more into selling than buying
14. Im posting pics on behalf of Mark. ***CLICK ON THE PICTURE BELOW TO BE LINKED TO LOADS MORE***
15. Just a note to say that though Mark is a relative newbie to Basschat he is one of my best mates, an absolute top bloke who only buys excellent basses. I've hand my hands on this one a fair few times, it sounds huge yet perfectly clear and is super light for a regular CS P Bass.
16. Bass Pearl Jam - Ten. Excellent condition, hardly used. £11 posted. Guitar, Bass & Drums Hendrix - Electric Ladyland. Used but not abused condition. £15 posted Guitar Rolling Stones - Exile on Main Street. Excellent condition, not used. £14 posted Radiohead - In Rainbows. Excellent condition, not used. £11 posted. If you take a couple of books I'll throw in Neil Young, Greatest Hits Fingerpicking for free. It's in as new condition. Cheers.
17. Chris, I hope you've got the pick guard screwed to something. They can shrink further very quickly when off the bass. Looks great
18.
I agree, great bass. Its sad to see comments like the one you were referring to though, a NBD thread should be a joyous celebration of your new instrument.
+1
19.
Any advice on getting an expensive bass into the country £efficiently? If someone was planning that. A friend of mine maybe?
If someone is brining it in on a plane, then offer a guitar shop in the UK some £'s for a blank receipt. You can then fill it in with the Fodera details and say to customs, if asked, that it was bought in the UK and you took it over there for a gig. Therefore the tax has already been paid. Just don't ask me how I know this.....
20. Stunned this is still here. I've played many CS Jazz Basses including this one, IMHO this is easily one of the better ones. If I were after a Jazz I wouldn't hesitate to buy it. GLWTS
21.
Hi, just wondering if you want to trade it for Wonderlove?
Thanks for asking but I'd prefer a sale. Cheers.
22.
Mmm..intriguing Can't see any demos online with bass.
Most likely not many around as it's a relatively new pedal. Loads of the old version available though. Here's one of the new version. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HKrsFVP87Jk
