Blame it on the GAS. I couldn't really afford this one but it was offered to me last night and I just couldn't say no. My mate owned this for about 6 months as a spare to his other identical one, but now he's using Modulus so this was up for sale.i always liked it so when he bought it over I couldn't resist, especially as I have a gaping big hole for a Precision, and that has been bugging me since I sold my last one as I wasn't getting along with the tone. It was also an odd purchase as I don't usually go for white basses, this is well out of my comfort zone. But, it's a stunning bass and it sounds and feels incredible. To my taste it's the nicest feeling neck I've played on a CS Precision, I guess that's why I'm overlooking the colour and couldn't resist buying it? I've had quite a few Precisions from 1963-66 and this one sits very nicely with them, only cheaper Still, this is not yet being classed as a 'keeper' and could end up in the for sale section due to future cash flow or colour appreciation issues.... I hope it stays and that I find a way to keep it, sure is gorgeous and looks a treat with my other 2 CS basses. EDIT: Oh yeah, it's a made in 2014, 1964 Relic

I have rounds on my Modulus, heavy flats on my Precision and Thomastiks on my Jazz. So you could say I'm sitting on the fence.... Rounds for the punch and zing, Fender 55 - 110 flats for the huge thud and bottom end, thomastiks for a smooth flatwound style with a little extra punch than regular flats. Works for me.

Absolutely! I enjoy playing other instruments but bass is always where my soul will be, and given that soul is required to play bass I don't think twice about being a natural born bass player

As far as I'm aware, the pickup is the big difference as it is ceramic on a Sterling and alnico on a Stingray. That makes a huge difference to the tone, the Sterling's sound a bit harder to my ear. A preamp bypass could be nice, I like MM basses in passive mode EDIT: I see Pete has arrived as I was writing my post - there lies your answers!

Hi folks, Has anyone used an Aguilar Tone Hammer pedal with an Aguilar OBP preamp? Did it work ok? I'm asking as I tried an Aguilar compressor with a OBP-2 preamp and it resulted in unavoidable slight overdrive. (ended up with MXR comp). It'd be used in a headphone set up, not with a gig rig Cheers!
