1. Hi Steve did you find someone or are you still looking?
2. oh my goodness
3. ohhh that looks tasty.
4. I have had some good walnut from these folks http://www.deepinwood.co.uk
5. Yes give it a go. You would be hard pressed to source the parts for that price. Elm is pretty tough so you might have a bit of work sanding to get a good smooth finish, but for that price yes worth a punt and it will be a great start into the joys of bass construction. Post some pics when you get going. good luck Peter
6. Do you have the chip ?
7. ohh loving that steamette
8. Hi Tonyclaret, Did you get sorted with a 5er yet? if not i just noticed this in the for sale section. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/162983-yamaha-rbx375-5-string-l200-inc-shipping/ I dont know anything about this particular bass but i did have a 4 string rbx a while ago and it was a cracking bass. It might be worth checking out. good luck Peter

12. Hi Tony I would say going second hand will get you something more than good enough to work out if 5 strings is for you or not and I would recommend something from the for sale section of this forum where I have had some cracking basses including my first fiver (and many others). If you can get something local to you then try it out first. Certainly try some different string spacings and neck profiles, with five strings to stretch across you may want to go for a slimmer neck profile than what you are currently used to on a four but this is not necessarily so, it will depend on how you want to play on the fiver. As for brands well it is hard to touch the Ibanez offerings for bang for your buck, but I would say that Yamaha are certainly worth looking at as well. Good luck
13. Sounds mighty fine, Witney is just down the road but I have the kids tonight so no evening pass for me...Have a great gig.

18. I have a few Piezo related questions. I would like to use a piezo set up in my next home build so as a way of getting some experience with things piezo I am thinking of modifying one of my previous home builds to take a piezo transduced under the bridge. This is a 5 string two part bridge/end plate set up rather like the warwick bridges and is mounted on a solid bodied bass. So does anyone know if it possible to get a piezo system under this type of bridge? Can it be made to work or does it need to be under a more acoustic friendly design of bridge. Is the bridge the best place to put a piezo sensor. What sort of circuit is requited to convert the output to something that can go to a standard base amp. What brands/manufactures are worth looking for this sort of application. All help appreciated. Peter
19. Sold sold sold
20. Where abouts are you located Shaun.
21. Hi Herbie, potentially, although I get northwards quite often so we might be able to arrange a convenient meet up which would be a better bet than a courier. Cheers Pete
Any chance of it being couriered?
22. A little bumpette before it goes back in the cupboard.
23. Hi Richard, Case wise it comes with a padded gig bag, but not a hard shell case. Cheers Pete
24. I though my lad was going to take this off me but he is sticking with fenders. So as per the title 2002 Warwick FNA five string, Ash body, nice maple top. The previous owner had the MEC pre amp changed for a Bartolini NTMB which sounds really good. £450 ono collected from Oxford Let me know if you are interested and want more pics and info
