    I play in a 5 piece with two guitarists, we had some problems initially but we made it clear to the less able guitarist that he played slide only or nothing...he's developing into quite a useful slide player as a result.

    My band plays for £250 a night, but will drop to £150 for small venues when they have no chance of getting enough people in to make it viable. At some of our £250 saturday night gigs the bar has taken well over a grand more than they would on a Saturday without live music. We reckon that with the driving setting up and break down, plus two hours on stage, we spend about 6 hours on a gig, for £50 each.

It's a great bass, but I find I prefer my 60s classic jazz and can't really afford to keep both.

    Need to sell my Ashdown 410H 600 watt 8 ohm cab. I have been using it with an ABM evo II 500 amp, which suits it perfectly. Must sell as buying Barefaced, the 410 is a bit much for my back. Great sound, terrific volume, have played this at outdoor gigs without going through PA and never needed more than half volume on the amp. Complete with Rocsolid cover, the cab is in good condition. I live in West Oxfordshire, the cab can be collected from my house or I can meet a buyer within reasonable distance. Can also be couriered at buyer's expense. Price dropped to £180. Remember, this includes the Rocsolid cover.

    ** Price now reduced to £750.00** Fender American Standard Jazz Bass 2008 with in Blizzard Pearl with rosewood fingerboard. Bought new this year as old stock but rarely played as I have too many basses. The bass is in perfect unmarked condition, correctly set up and plays well, producing the classic versatile Jazz Bass sound. As a 2008 model it is fitted with the latest tuners and a string through body high mass bridge. Includes correct original Fender hard case, adjustment tools, care and maintenance instruction booklet, and shop tags.     Had one back in the late 70s, good sound, but neck-dive hell. Good basses if you only ever play sitting down.

    I am using one, AMB 500 evo II and ABM 410. Plenty loud at half volume, used for a gig at a pub in our village a few weeks ago and the bass was loud and clear from one end of the village to the other! Having said that, I plan to sell the cab soon, as I have a barefaced on order, which weighs half of what the 410 does. Lifting it in and out of the car and onto stages, etc, is getting to be hard work.
