1.
I love Mike and Keith too.
A man of taste, evidently. Looking at (and listening to) your soundcloud offerings there are some familiar sounds there. You mention Transglobal Uunderground, who seem to include some of the remains of West London band Furniture who I knew well some 30 years ago. I wonder if our paths crossed somewhere between Acton and Hammersmith back then?
2. A new month, maybe a new home for this lovely Jazz Bass?
3.
Is this the worst relic finish ever? Personally i think its bloody awful!
I think that's a little unfair. It's much worse than just 'bloody awful'
4.
Thinking about it the FBI was being refurbished.....maybe that was the reason. I,ll make note of the Coach at Lesbury for food, Had a listen to you guys on soundcloud, like the sounds Dave.....Fender American Standard Jazz Bass 2008 in Blizzard Pearl !! very good. If I get a good couple of months work under my belt and it,s still there! Cheers.
Thanks for the feedback, always good to know how our music goes down. I had the same tracks (minus the live version of 'My Dog') on the CD player in the car when we were up there. I used the 60s classic JB for the recordings, the US Standard has not been played for several months now. If you do go for it, we might be able to come to some sort of agreement re delivery, my wife is always keen to go to Boulmer. Dave

6.
That,s right, it,s just up the way is Boulmer, my brother says the fishing boat inn is very good for food! overlooking the beach, The only time I went in that pub was when me, wor lass and 2 nippers were walking along the beach and handed in a mobile phone we found there....I looked at the phone book on the mobile and rang the number under MUM, her daughter of course answered and said thanks, they were not far away and we handed it in to the Fishing boat inn for collection.....and had a pint! The best move we ever made Dave was moving back up here..
We were a couple of minutes' walk from the FBI but it seemed to be closed all the time we were there. We have eaten there before, and the seafood was good. This time we spent every evening in the Coach at Lesbury, probably the best food I have eaten anywhere.
7. We were staying in Boulmer, so quite close to you. We come to the same place every year or two.
8. My wife and I were in Northumberland for a few days a week or so ago, lovely part of the country. I have a Jazz in the basses for sale section, I could have delivered it if I'd known!
9.
Super Twin no3 with it's new playmates. We are so not worthy! (Well the MB800 might be) ;-) Sorry, no pint of Hobgoblin - spent all day waiting in for Fedex and then playing................................ :-D
The T shirt is enough!
10.
Excellent news. How come you guys are getting your new cabs so quick? Have barefaced majorly increased turn round time? As soon as I decide what cab(s) to go for, looks like I might be pressing the button too. Cheers Thenassman
I ordered mine at the beginning of May, Alex offered to change my order to the new range soon afterwards, so I had to wait over 4 months to get mine. But I do have the satisfaction of owning the first Super Twin!
11.
Excellent, report back?. Just had word from Alex, mine should be with me Monday.
Gig report a few posts above, not really much of a challenge for the cab.
12. Last night's gig was 'interesting'. Our drummer diverted on the way to the gig to the local A&E, so after a few frantic phone calls to other drummers we had to perform without any percussion; the audience was 'young dementia sufferers' (average age about 75) who were lively and enthusiastic.
13. The first Super Twin survived the gig test with ease, but to be fair it wasn't too hard as the drummer ended up in hospital an hour or so before the gig, so we ended up playing without him. The bass sounded good, but the whole band was playing at low volume, and to an audience of 'young' dementia sufferers! 'Young' seemed to mean under 80 or so, but they were a good audience to play to, Another ten days to the next gig, with either our regular drummer or a dep.
14.
Instrumental Def Leppard tribute it is then.
Brilliant!
15. The cab is the least of my worries tonight, the drummer has a trapped nerve and can't feel anything in his right hand and the lead singer has a bad cold which has gone to his chest! Going to be interesting
16.
Has anyone actually received their 3rd gen cab? Cba to read through all that bitchy crap.
Yup, got mine yesterday and gigging it tonight
17. I have tried that,n the price is in a separate field and every time I change it and submit the post, it reverts to the original price.
18. Final price drop, will let this beauty go for a firm £750, collected from West Oxfordshire or courier arranged by buyer. Colour confirmed as Blizzard Pearl.
19. The finish on mine is some sort of textured acryilic. I rather like the look of the bare ports, makes it look powerful, somehow.
20. Super Twin #001 tested and sound sweet, but at fairly low level as everything the house (and probably the neighbour's house) started rattling above 1/3rd volume. The real test will be tonight when it will have to cut through drums, 2 guitars and vocals/harp on stage. Pictures were promised and here they are. I forgot to add any Hobgoblin content this time, though. Please ignore the positions of the tons controls in my ABM, just pulled it out of the bag and plonked it there, took pictures before playing, think the controls got moved during transit back from last gig. At home levels, it sounded fine with the amp EQ flat, will tweak to suit the venue this evening.
21. Got it! Super Twin #001 now sitting under my amp waiting for me to try it in the morning. Great to meet Alex and the team today, what a friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable bunch they are. Such a treat to carry my cab indoors in just one hand!
22. After a 290 mile round trip, Super Twin # 001 is in its new home, where it is a perfect fit for my ABM 500. I'll fire it up tomorrow, but late in the evening to inflict it on the rest of the village now, and should be gigging it tomorrow evening.
