  1. [quote name='BassBunny' post='588897' date='Sep 3 2009, 05:48 PM']"Marvin". The Carvin BB75 I have that has had a Marleaux Neck installed. Every time I think I have found another Bass I prefer, I pick Marvin up and it just plays and sounds superb. A hard act to follow as a £2K Bacchus found out. [/quote] Yeah, Marvin ROCKS - amazing bass in every respect.
  2. Sorry mate no I sold this a while ago. I think you can order them direct from Atelier-Z. ped
  3. That might be an option. It might mess with my head in terms of organisation though but with a little effort I could probably sort that out for the next order... Thanks for the tip ped
  4. Unfortunately I was only able to buy about 75 T's in total this time as I didn't have much spare cash lying around. I am giving T shirts to the mods, so we won't be making any profit on the batch. In fact they may very well end up costing me, but it's all good to spread the word of the site. The next batch will be of a similar size (I can only afford to write off a few hundred to sink into this at the moment) and when sold I will be able to use that money to get a bigger batch and so forth. Apologies it is taking so long but I have been fairly hard up these last few months! Cheers ped
  5. Hi mate Yeah if you want the pic to just appear large under your post you will need to host them somewhere - like Photobucket. Once you upload a pic to photobucket it will give each image something called an IMG tag. Simply copy + paste the IMG tag where you would like to see the pic and it will appear once you hit the reply button. It will look a bit like this (but without the spaces) [ img ] picofdoggie.jpg [/ img] Hope this helps ped
  6. I should have them this week at some point. Watch this space.

    Show us your rig!

Superb Trace rig. I like the look of the MP11. Nearly got one myself actually. How do you find the Peavey era cabs compared to the older ones?
  8. I will announce on the forum when they are ready, 24 hrs before they go on sale :0)
  9. Hi Smashie. I like the sound of the HlH, cool amps, those. I worked at Buckingham School briefly (not the Royal Latin but the one next to it) but otherwise the area is alien to me. used to drive through Aylesbury to see my ex-girlfriend's parents - thankfully I won't be doing that again. Welcome to the madness ped
  10. Yeah it was a bit awkward! Marcus didn't do much to ease the situation either by the looks of it. Notice his miniature ashtray. I tried one of those and it is a brilliant solution to the problem of a larger width one covering a fair amount of the plucking area. They are pretty common on Japanese super-jazzes like Atelier-Z and Bacchus, and I have seen them on Fodera basses too. Perhaps Marcus is thinking of adding them to the MIJ sig instruments? ped
  11. [quote name='Dr.Dave' post='581782' date='Aug 26 2009, 07:25 PM']Nothing at all wrong with that - whatever helps an individual achieve their aim is a good thing. Fret lines get me all confused though - odd - I'm a pretty visual creature but they just don't work for me.[/quote] yeah it helps as a quick check... there isn't anything on the front of the neck though, just a blank shiny metal fingerboard! maybe we should open the whole 'do you need lines' can of worms! ped
  12. Luckily mine has dots and lines on the side of the neck.
  13. What did they play at the end?
  14. I guess wild is the wrong word, but I like it when he nails it to a groove. There is a good track called 'Ooh' (feat. Lalah Hathaway) where he starts off with a sweet groove and does some tasty soloing over the top... it is really fun to play bass along to, keeping the original groove going under his solo. ped
  15. So much easier just having the one bass!
  16. [quote name='JTUK' post='580212' date='Aug 25 2009, 01:57 PM']Jools Holland did this sort of thing with MM and Dave Sanborn on a U.S show ..where they invited guests Worked really well most of the time. The guitarists were Hiram Bullock, mostly, and sometimes Roben ford. Drummer was Omar Hakim.. Keys was Phillip Saisse[/quote] Think I saw a few of those... Omar is another fave. Didn't they do the joke where they disproved people who said it was because they played good instruments that they sounded so good, and had a jam on some plastic toy instruments and still sounded tight?
  17. [quote name='The Funk' post='580174' date='Aug 25 2009, 01:28 PM']Yeah, and it's him on kit. [/quote] Didn't notice that!! Good stuff.
  18. [quote name='Linus27' post='580191' date='Aug 25 2009, 01:44 PM']Now now, don't get me started, leave poor Adam alone [/quote] ...with his spoon collection!
  19. I think you can see him at the start when Marcus and the band meet.
  20. I could send a mass email to every member on BC... ;0)
  21. [quote name='The Funk' post='579987' date='Aug 25 2009, 11:06 AM']This is that French programme hosted by Manu Katché where he gets different famous musicians together and gets then to jam through things - everything that Later with Jools Holland should be but isn't.[/quote] Really?? Manu is one of my fave drummers and the first musician I knew by name.
  22. Just found this video. Normally I find Marcus' playing a bit wild but love it when he sticks in the pocket. Not sure what the video is about but it looks like he cooks up this bassline in no time and totally nails the tune. Of course he can't help but try and own the tune with a cheeky solo, too... ped
  23. Wasn't me - but I am familiar with the venue as my parents live down the road!
  24. Loving it, thanks
