1. I use them in the same was as shown in S.P's awesome diagram. I usually have my rig at the same time. My signal goes like this: Bass > Vbass > Stereo Poweramp > SWR 4x8 (right channel) and 1x15 (left channel) cabs _____________________________> IEM Shure E2c with foam tips _____________________________> FOH (whatever the venue provides) So the Vbass splits the signal into each destination. Sometimes if the gig is decent then I won't bother with my rig as the monitors are up to scratch. I got tired of doing gigs where I was the only one who could hear my amplifier and even I was having trouble in some venues. IEMs rule! I also really like the semi studio feeling of having a CD volume band to play along to. Having only me in my IEM mix also eliminates the risk of dangerous frequencies and so on. I also love the fact that for me, E2cs produce exactly the sound my bass makes to desk and through my amp, so I know what I am hearing is the uncoloured 'truth'. It makes everything much easier when you have the same sound everywhere. ped
2. Thanks guys. Said bass is going to have a polish later as a treat. I might even get her a new battery. Hopefully for my birthday someone will get me a cake eating chimp! Ped
3. How sad is this. I hope nobody I know (especially female) reads this. My bass is 21 years old tomorrow!! I thought you would all join me in a celebration. Here are a few pictures of our best times together: Recording (well, posing in between) Artist relations with Vigier themselves (yeah, my brother made this up for a laugh) Meeting its brothers and sisters @ a Bass Bash (tm) With me in weekend dress And of course the BC bash! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! LMAO
4. I might be wrong but I think Schaller £D bridges 3 hole arrangement are a direct fit onto a fender. far better bridges than the Badass, too, in my opinion! ped
5. Well guys, we have a breakthrough. Roland are sending me the item direct straight away and Dawsons are coming to get the other pickups from work tomorrow, and my original postage is being refunded. Chalk one up for consumer rights! ped
6. Do you guys reckon fretless basses should have lines?
7. Just sent this: Hi ********, I have spoken to Roland who have confirmed the product is still in stock and being manufactured. I thought I would send you a link to the discussion of this issue on my website. It has just had 1000 unique views. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=59858&hl= I apologise if I I sound angry in the beginning but I am sure you can see my side of the argument, and you in particular have been a great help so far in correspondence. I urge you to rethink your policy (paying particular attention to the section of that thread about my refund rights as a distance customer) Please get back to me ASAP. Many thanks Christopher
8. Thanks guys. I have been pretty busy but will forward this info to the guy at Dawsons, who, to be fair, seems to be listening and a fair chap. Probably not his idea that he won't refund my money, but I absolutely refuse to comply with this particular policy. Roland, on the other hand, are being fantastic. ped
9. yeah that was cool fun. Definitely something to be explored another time I think. Me and Kiwi tried to get a double electric bass jam going in Northampton but it didn't really work!
10. Me too I think Lee - let's hold hands :0)
11.
"It was all working this morning....." Gutted I couldn't make it, really enjoyed the last one. Hope everyone had a good day!
Haha. Yeah Oli did a great job of cooking up some beats at the last minute. We hadn't met until about 5 mins beforehand so it was a great experience 'jamming' for the first time during my workshop thing. Cheers ped
12. Yeah we discussed that possibility and I guess it's the only option. Nice to see you on Sat :0) ped
13. I would comply if I could, but I can't sign a whole day away to waiting for TNT or waiting in a que in the Post Office (if it's even open with the strikes being on in Oxford) and it's miles away now anyway!!
14. Thanks. Just had a quick look but couldn't see anything :0(
15. Not if I send them a link ;0)
16. Just had my email from Roland who have confirmed that the product is still available, and that they in fact have no less than 23 in stock. Further to the bashing Dawson's music have already received I also mentioned the poor service during my Vbass demo at the bash which I believe was filmed and will be on the internet very soon. Dawsons - I hope you are reading this! ped
17. People heard ped's in town!
18. BTW I mainly bought this camera for its superb macro performance, focusing on things touching the lens!!
19. Cheers - some are out of focus and others oversharpened due to an export fail in Lightroom... you can see better ones on my Flickr page. The camera is a compact, believe it or not. A Ricoh CX1. I love it, take it everywhere. More often than not I shoot in B/W with the ISO at 400 and a limit on the slow shutter speed so it takes great 'action' shots. Great camera! Cheers ped
20. Cheers - bit annoyed myself because lots of them are out of focus - I didn't put enough attention into taking the pics, I was too busy checking out stuff and planning my Vbass demo thing (left it to literally the last min of course!!) Cheers ped P.s anyone else have pics??
21.
Thanks mate. Great to meet you too! That VBass demo of yours has really got me thinking!
Thinking about giving me bass lessons, probably!!
22. Done! That's lucky, I thought I messed it up and lost yer' pics! Great to meet you today :0)
