Wish I had a way to get this, but travelling from Scotland would be a trip too far. GLWTS.

Very smooth transaction and very quick to post the jazz I bought, thank you John. 👍

Almost him, I know Pauline McNeil plays in MC4 and was due to watch her play at Girdwoods in Wishaw, until lockdown happened.
-
Fantastic news, glad you've got something back. 👍
BTW, who's your MSP? I know one who plays in a covers band and is local ( Motherwell ).
-
Just up the road from Wishaw, in Lanark, we've had "neds" trying car/van door handles and peoples house/flat doors over the last few years. They've got lucky a few times, one guys work tools were all taken ( self employed joiner ). A few CCTV shots were intially shared on facebook, but taken down again? Not sure if they got their stuff back, were threatened or the police told them to take them down? But they clearly showed faces of those guilty of no good. So armed with a film of the crime, no one has ever been caught and the thieving has never stopped? I never, ever, leave anything in the car these days, but trying to unload in the early hours of the morning, with two dogs barking, usually wakes the rest of the house up. Then I don't get my kebab to myself. 🙄

Feech did PM me back a few weeks ago, saying he'd changed his mind and was keeping it. But in the current economic climate, I suppose everything has it's price?

The week before lockdown, I done 4 nights in a large school hall, with a full band ( including sax payer ) without going through the front line. My gain, playing a Geddy Lee Jazz bass, was at half way and the master was at half way. Listening to iphone videos from those nights, the bass sounds loud. I doubt there are many indoor gig in the UK, where you would actually push the amp, without defening the rest of the band? The amp is a one handed lift and fits in the back seat of my car, I really do like these amps and the ampeg 1 x 15 does nothing but gather dust these days.
Good luck Jack, if I didn't already have one, that I purchased on here, I'd buy yours.

Did anyone on here buy this? I sent Feech a message, but he hasn't replied. Just wondering if it's still for sale?

Still for sale?

Hey guys, can I just ask a quick question? When gigging do you use this as your monitor as well as for your bass sound?
Thanks in advance!
Andy
You can use it that way, by putting the bass in one channel, with the monitor mix from the desk through the other channel and mixing them at the back of the QSC to your taste. But if you don’t have a backline, you need to work out what the rest of the band do to hear your bass, maybe add it to their monitors? Fine if it's a small venue, but more difficult in a larger venue with a loud drummer and a guitarist who's turned up to 11 for his solo.

Off topic, but I always love a bit of DWOFS on you tube.
Hope you get the neck straightened and enjoy the bass, the Nate Mendel is high on my list of most wanted basses.

Aeronautical Engineering degree and then RAF pilot for 12 years. 20 years flying (19 years as Captain) for in-house airline for large vertically-integrated travel agent that went bust last September. Currently flying as Captain on smaller aircraft in a smaller airline until Coronavirus destroys the industry.
Unfortunately I cannot recommend being a pilot as a job that's suitable for playing in bands on the side, due to the scheduling and lifestyle issues. That's not to say I haven't had fun trying, it just takes a lot of organising and understanding/flexible bandmates.
You didn’t used to ( or possibly still do ) own a Porsche 928 by any chance? Your career sounds familiar?

I’m in the mood for dancing by the Nolan’s, if I never, ever play that again, I’ve already played it too many times. Although I did utterly fluff The Chain by Fleetwood Mac the other week, after playing for 35 years. Now it gives me the fear. 🙄

Finished my annual run of 4 nights playing in a panto band. Usual mix of show tunes and cheesy pop songs. Playing the same stuff 4 nights in a row means the Saturday night is the best and it’s a fair bit of a come down ending on a high. Cast, band and audience builds up to the Saturday night and then stop, never to be done again. Kinda weird, with the other bands you play and play, enjoying performing a “set”, which you get to do again and again, adding new songs and dropping old ones. Not sure why this is depressing? Learning around 30 songs every year, just to play them four times and not play them again? Still ,looking forward to next year now.

Mainly the singer says what songs he can sing and we toss about a list of songs that we agree on. If anyone wants to do a song, they have to agree to sing it. 😂

Well, I managed to get one on eBay for slightly below my ceiling price, much to my surprise. Unbranded but it sounds 'right' - 70s, MIJ, pics look like 'all the others'. Could be a complete lemon, of course Should be arriving this week so I'll find out soon enough.
Interested in hearing about that.👍

OK that's potentially a big budget. The top end of what most pub bands would spend and potentially enough for a great PA. A few more questions:
How technical are you? Are you looking for something simple and set and forget or a wide range of options and flexibility?
Does the budget have to include mic's, stands, leads and monitors or do you have bits and pieces?
How are you going to monitor? are you thinking in-ears, floor monitors or back-line and vocal monitors?
How many in the band, what sort of music, what sort of volumes do you operate at?
I am quite technical, have played in bands and operated PA’s for the last 35 years. We’ve been gigging for the last year, one gig a month, so have all the mics, leads, monitors, desk and back line setup. I was just quite interested in what other gigging bands were using?
Looking at spec’s, write ups and prices just now, I’m thinking the Alto TS3 rig ( with 12’s on top and 18” sub ) would suite most of the small venues in Lanarkshire. Quick and easy to setup, simple to use.

I have thought, after asking a friend to listen to a few options in Guitar Guitar today, that it’s all subjective. If there was one PA that was the best, then everyone would buy it. We could all listen to the same set of speakers and all come to different conclusions.
I also need to think about how I get everything to the gig, as I’ve currently got a Tesla for a daily driver. I might need budget for a van too. 😂
