1. I loved Moonmadness and Snow Goose back in the day but was disappointed at their post-Moonmadness output. Afraid I went off them when they played my local (Tunbridge Wells Assembly Hall) in around 1980 and were utterly disinterested and didn't bother with an encore (despite the usual calls from the crowd). They really didn't want to be there and - as a teen with hard earned pockey money that paid for the gig - that was it for me. Occasionally listen to Moonmadness (still got it on my iPod; I love the ethereal Spirit of the Water more than the obvious ones like Lunar Sea).
2. Way cool, Rev! Here's some quite breathtaking music from Danny and the late John Martyn - makes me swell up ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohmSPv-rtSQ
3. and a couple from Rodrigo Y Gabriela (who are really great fun live if you get the chance to see them) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8dPso79Z9I a flamenco style cover of Metallica's One (and I love Metallica too!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQQCDW8vI_I&feature=related

5.
Visiting Seville in the autumn.
I'm jealous! If you haven't been there before the gardens of the Alcazar are wonderful and there's several great flamenco venues. Touristy I know, but a horse-driven buggy trip round the old centre is fab!
6. I am partial to a bit of flamenco music from time to time. Always makes me think of balmy summer evenings and some wonderful holidays in Andalucia. Thought I'd post a couple of clips for your delectation - first off the wonderful Paco De Lucia with Entre Dos Aguas and then the younger generation superstar Vicente Amigo (thanks to Nigel/silddx for pointing me in his direction). Enjoy - absolutely wonderful as far as I'm concerned
7. Wicked news mate! Sorry I haven't got anything big and loud in the rig dept otherwise I'd happily sling it your way, given I'm gigging acoustic-y stylee currently. Anyways. spill all on the band!!!
8. Really enjoyed that - thanks for posting. His enthusiasm and broad smile when playing is absolutely infectious
9. Thanks Pierre! Rainy Sunday bump with a nice video of Japan featuring the wonderful fretless Wal player Mick Karn (RIP) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fuiRBLa7pdA

SOLD

Hi there, I would drop a Pm to Beedster as he sold one and then regretted it
11. Thanks Mike, boy that sub arrangement is in the way - but ideal for your front man!!!!!
12. Thanks Barend. I think you are right and patience is the key word here!
13. Oh well, 52 watchers and not one bid by the auction close (despite one guy telling me he would definitely bid in the last few minutes and an earnest guy from Belgium providing his phone number, contact details etc and clearing it with me that he could pay by bank transfer instead of paypal). Ho hum!

20. That first photo is pure porn!
21. [sub]Seems logical after his AFR series and Ibanez connections. One uK retailer claims to have the Grooveline in stock BTW http://www.fairdealmusic.co.uk/musical-instruments/guitars-1/bass-guitar/ibanez-g104-nt.html[/sub]
22. All i can say is my bass is older than those two examples and does not have a date stamp. The previous owner before me (BC'er sselterf) dated it as 1981 and based on the serial number (PB1857) that seems right to me (PB1840 and PB1859 the last PB built, two after mine, were both listed as 1981 in the Wal database)
23. I had the 4-string version of this (now owned by Mr Bassman on BC) and its an excellent portable DB. I used it on my last band's mini-tour of Portugal and it was so easy to take off the neck, pack away safely in golf case and then set up again. Really excellent touring instrument
24. The cap must just have dropped off since in the Alembic Club photos all 4 'A's are visible in the second picture I still keep looking at this bass and admiring it!
