Gotta love the internet. A vaguely p*ssed rant after midnight on Saturday and we're up to four sides of debate, reasoned argument and occasional heckling FWIW, I think rosewood and blocks on a sunburst Jazz looks wonderful (eg, wot's early 70s Jazz) and white blocks on a maple board too (eg, the lovely white Jazz sold by glenhughes that was previously wombatboter's). But I maintain my argument from my OP that black blocks on maple are unsightly, especially with a paler bodied bass

I think its RIM Basses that uses Q-tuners

OK, weather forecasts were wrong and it's still scorching. So if anyone fancies a break from roasting themselves (yes, I am struggling here ) get yo selves down to the Apple Tree for some folk, flamenco, country and blues casserole

Sorry, yes I may be pished but maple boards with black blocks (Geddy Lee Jazzes, another thread on a seafoam green FSR Precision) are plain fugly to me. SHoot me down and I know its personal taste ... but really. Its like a Porsche in orange or a Capri with stripes down the side to me, just ugly and tasteless. I expect to be blocked by countless BC'ers for this [attachment=108802:97959_l.jpg]

Crikey that reads really badly. Have to say the Nash 63J's I owned both played and sounded very nice. My only gripes were a cheap-ish tort-substitute s/p and the fact the 'clay dots' were shiny white plastic rather than aged

Would have LOVED to have been there but the Missus wasn't keen When I saw Wobble play 'Visions of you' on TV with Sinead O'C ten or more years ago he was playing an Ovation Magnum

So, they are forecasting the weather won't be so fabulous tomorrow. In which case, the Apple Tree pub in Clerkenwell seems like a good place to go to late afternoon ... and you can then take in the harmonies of All The Queens Ravens at 6pm

From memory it was roughly 3 weeks until I got refunded the £700-odd for my faulty amp ... and that was after multiple cross, nagging emails without which I suspect it would have taken even longer

Ouch. Sorry to hear that Jon. I recently had a problem with a faulty amp from Thomann (as discussed on another thread) and the heartache and hassle to get it sent back and refunded have completely put me off going this route again. TBH, I didn't check the exact refund amount so i may have made a currency gain or loss but the item was quite a bit cheaper than your Precision so it wouldn't have been big - but the principle is the same.

and of course it was pulled within hours

Excellent set by our Nige and Kit and rest of band tonight. I took some photos on his Blackberry but a combination of his chrome bling Warwick bass and a badly angled spotlight meant most came out like light explosions! Hopefully Nige can use a few and maybe post here? Nige of course was wearing the black leather flares, hat and black silk gloves. I feel very dowdy by comparison
