1. I love the DB 112. 2 x DB112 doesn't hurt your back.
2. Are you using your DB-amp with a earth ground at the wall? Are you using fluorescent lamps in the room? Are your bass shielded? Many hiss problem is connected to grounding, lightning and so on.
3.
just as well...very poor fit! The outlines look ok, neck pockets on all their bodies are too tight and too shallow. The strat bodies are awful, not enough room for the trem to operate properly, misaligned neck to bridge, square edged lower horn, the list is endless. I guess he's not got original drawings. Shame really as the timber is good.
Hmm.. You need a Dremel.
4. Won a eBay-auction p-bass slab body 2 pcs alder a couple of days ago. And I ordered their 1960 J-bass body 2 pcs alder from guitar.build.co.uk at the same time.
5.
Nice! Where did you get the body from?
MJT Custom age finishes. http://mjtagedfinishes.com I bought it through there ebay store. http://www.ebay.com/sch/mjtele/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p3686
6.
That logo looks fantastic Pete I am going to have a go at doing one and would appreciate some info/advice Exactly what paper did you use, I've seen clear and white, I assume clear is best, but is there a particular kind? Did you use a Sharpie for the silver? I've seen a method where you soak the decal, flip it over then paint the rear before applying it but your method looks much better Lovely bass too Harry
I bought clear laser printer decal paper from http://myworld.ebay....birdie-edwards. I used a Unipaint marker, but I'm not completely satisfied with the result, the fill got a bit uneven, think a sharpie would do the job better. I also had my 1 year old son running around my legs and climbing on the table when I applied the decals, it was a bit thrilling.
7. Have applied 4 layer of lacquer. I did some 3k wet sanding and did some black touch up on the logo.
8. Printed two copies of the logo. One to colour and one for apply over. Used a silver metallicpencil to fill the logo. I've wet sand the head with 2k grit to level out any ruggedness. Applied both decals on the head, the coloured logo first then the other logo. Now its time to apply nitro laquer.

10. I bought some 3k och 2.5k grit paper to use with the decal. I think I'm going to use some kind of lauqer instead of tru-oil.
11. There is a huge different between a single coil and dual coil p-bass. The single coil is more twangy and clear then the dual coil that is more boomy and has a more low end sound.
