5. I had a Clover Avenger 5 and the build quality and sound is as good as anything out there. The only reason I passed it on was that it was my final attempt at getting into playing 5 stringers which (predictably) failed. The Delano pick-ups and switching options on the Avenger were superb giving what seemed unlimited sound options. I would hughly recommend.
6. I would try out the TC RH450 or Classic head. These are as valve like a delivery I have come across outside of a true valve power section.
7. I was at the gig and they were great live
8. I say play whatever bass you want to play and ignore what others say (unless you want to get into a really lucrative music opportunity with ground rules of course!). That said, I have tried playing five string several times (purchased real nice fiver's to inspire me) but just couldn't get on with the extra string.

21. I bought a Strat from Rockbottom back in '86. A musician friend of mine lived in Mitcham and we often went down there to have a chat and try out new stuff when I was visiting him. Back then they were passionate about music and many of the people working there were starting careers in music - can't remember his name but the guy that used to demo keyboards got a tour with Terence Trent D'Arby at the time.
I'm in a pub / wedding covers band and I only ever play alembics :-)
I had an Alembic Mark King signature which I used occassionally in a pub band. It would never have got stolen because of the weight....... which is why I only used it occassionally myself. I still play an assortment of my basses in my covers band from a '62 P Bass to a Yamaha BB2024x, along with my Thumb, Stingray and whatever else takes my fancy as I pack my gear into the car.
