  1. There’s the Bass Gallery in London.
  2. He is, according to this article, just the tip of the iceberg. The moral of the story is, if you’re buying something remotely, then use PayPal. I’ve bought a couple of things from on here recently. I didn’t personally know the guys I was buying from, so I used regular PayPal. I did though, pay a little extra so they received what they wanted, while I still had buyer protection. https://www.theguardian.com/money/2023/may/28/social-media-sites-wild-west-shopping-uk-bank-facebook-instagram
  3. I’m sure we’ve all encountered guitarists who subscribe to this magazine. ‘F chord workaround: simply don’t play it when it comes around’.
  4. The size of your fingers is immaterial, it’s about technique. Apart from a brief reverse back to playing a 5 string during the first year of my degree, I’ve been playing 6 string bass for nearly 20 years. I would recommend having a few lessons from someone who plays a 6 string when you start, just to get comfortable with playing it. I think the reason why so many people buy 6 string basses and then sell them, is that they’re trying to simply transfer whatever technique they use on a 4 string instrument over to the 6. That won’t necessarily work, they’re very different beasts.
  5. You should hear the absolute racket my neighbour makes. It’s usually his TV, though the other night at 3am he was shouting, hammering and banging. Luckily, I was still up, playing my drums, otherwise he’d have woken me up.
  6. That’s it. I barely sold any of the CDs I had printed a few years ago. I had a batch of 50 cassettes done that sold out within a week.
  7. Do people still buy CDs?
  8. Just a few weeks old, and used for 5 minutes. It’s sadly not to my tastes. In absolute mint condition.
  9. I’m told it’s NWR on bass. Despite not knowing any of their songs I’m probably going to go, I have complimentary tickets, it’d be rude not to.
  10. One of the other music lecturers does the sound. He really knows his stuff. The venue has a state of the art sound system.
  11. We have a lot of very good bands playing. The 80s band Big Country were on last night.
  12. I see Norman mentioned quite often on bass-related sites. Just a heads up, especially if you’re Birmingham based. They’re playing at the college I teach at in a few weeks time. It’s a lovely venue with a great sound system. https://www.theblockheads.com/live-gigs/
  13. I don’t see any adverts. I use an ad blocker.

  15. New in the box. Full details here: https://motu.com/en-us/products/m-series/m2/
  16. These are fantastic. I replaced an entire pedalboard with one of these and a volume pedal.
  17. Hee haw to know better.
  18. I thought his name was Geddy Lee? I’ll fetch my coat 😆.
  19. Has there been a slip in the time/space continuum, resulting in us being transported back in time to the 1970s?
  20. Pau Ferro, aka iron wood. As long as it doesn’t go rusty, what’s the problem? I believe it’s very durable and makes for a great fretless fingerboard.
  21. I’m not a fan of his music. The guy's an absolute genius though.
  22. Bought new last year. All are in excellent condition. Prices include postage. Ron Carter solos - £6.50 Ray Brown’s bass method - £10.00 George Vance: Progressive repertoire vol. 1 - £20 David Allen Moore: Fractal Fingering - £20
  23. I don’t know tbh. I think it comes with Ableton Lite.
