I just listened to Bayou and Third of the First; both are right up my alley. Great stuff and massive tone! It reminds me of how thick the tone is in Raging Speedhorn’s Gush. I think I detect a decent amount of flanger too?

    Thanks man

yeh i switch between the two but have settled on chorus for the last few months with the new board (well vibrato run in parallel with clean) but yeh Third has a nice amount of flanger.

  2. So ive upgraded from there Blooper to the Dirt Fixer and damn having the eq is a massive plus this does so much more and its made even my fav drives/fuzz sound better!

The del Fuego has replaced the Fig Fumb V2 for a min

The sound last night at the gig was grand! this video clip is the ehx nyc in the loop of the DF into my ashdown little giant 1000 ( and the sound guy put a mic on the cab!)

Yeat they are pretty nifty. the other option ive been considering is a morningstar ML10x with a seperate midi controller.

yeh ive thought of switching my ml5 for the 10 but i thinking the atom is winning due to wanting the small form but the 8 switches make it the one for me as id kinda like more presets to allow for extras for songs rather than banking.

Let us know your thoughts on the fig thumb... I've been intrigued about it for a while .

    👍

First play was positive, lots of eq and gain on tap.

I dont have a problem........moding the bottom nyc big muff tomorrow and probs gonna through on my Grey stache which is arriving tomorrow! also have a Fig Fumb v2 from stone deaf incoming aswell so just trying to find a third muff sound, as i have a mid range drive with the Bongripper and low gain muff with the cosmic trigger want a big solo sound which is a big more controlled than the Black emperor which is just an all out massive fuzz sound! also have a new vibrato pedal coming tomorrow which will be going into take the place of the ps-3 so it can go back to being a weird reverse noise making machine again, and with the parallel BDPG the Vib will give me a nice chorus

  6. So im currently running an es5, want more presets as well as ideally more loops.......but im not looking to move back to the es8

so im considering a few things, Gig Rig Atom an extra loop similar size, or mastermind pbc10.........not sure what else there is out there which will do midi and loops in parallel?

  7. in a band thats loud a small combo for me will always struggle, markbass stuff is great had a lm2 for years into a 610hlf ampeg and it was super loud! if your not worried about the weight that rig will be great tbh, for me im just in a place where i deal with moving larger cabs as for me they do just sound bigger.......

the underneath just have always on cali76bc and my ml5 morningstar which is in the loop of a damnation blooper to give a bit of low end help to the big muff, bdpg and a bongripper(also underneath) oh and a sy-200 controlled by midi which only feed foh but i do run it and my normal signal into the obne to let me monitor it thru my cab if i want.

fighting the urge to either go Gig Rig Atom atm one extra loop but would let me access more presets aswell.

Also setting up a really small board to go ontop of my amp/amps depending on project and have a dd200 and rv500 in stereo (when i have two amps) to add maddness inbetween songs which the extra presets would help with just purely control them via midi

ABM V has been out for months direct from Ashdown and U.K. built

Compared to the ABM600 IV I couldn’t hear any difference!

I sent mine back and stayed with the 600

think its basically just volume which tbh you wont hear, but the output meter is what make me interested in the 750

    Dear Sirs,

I am a bass guitarist (Fretless Jazz) with 13 piece Jazz Band. Need clarity, depth, power, volume.
Have old Trace Elliot GP11 - no longer good enough and too heavy at my age! (Note: Have Ashdown spare Head Amp but will buy new high tech 500W - 1000W head amp as required to suit new speaker cabs.)

I will soon add an Ibanez UB840 Double Bass into the band and must have speaker cabs to manage this too.
For compactness & light weight, I was considering:

Hartke Hydrive HD112 300W Bass Guitar Speaker Cabinet - 200W-349W
    1 X 15". 483 x 381 x 406. 35Hz-17kHz.
    +
Hartke HyDrive HL210 500W Bass Guitar Speaker Cabinet - 500W-749W
    2 x 10". 371 x 612 x 383mm. 50Hz-17kHz

    Total: 700W-1098W

However, I have just come across bad reviews on BassChat for Hartke. Then I found Bareface Audio.

My car boot has a depth limit of 400mm, but I can use a van if I really have to. Objective is compact / lightweight / hi-tech / reliable Cabs/Speakers with the most amazing tonal range / depth capability to underpin a large band.

Can Bareface meet my specific requirements? Or would you guys recommend an alternative make?

    Many thanks-Mike

i used to have a hd112 (its a 12' not 15') was really happy, but was to small for my needs, have played on  gig with someone using BF and it sounded great but it was a Big Twin so more comparible for me wit an 810/215

i would also say if you look hard enough you will always find bad reviews in particular in forums where if one thing fails for said person the whole brand is bad, i guess it depends on your budget as a BF cab is a pricey thing to get and not like? just to through another name in the hat Markbass could be worth a shout.

Then they should buy a different bass. Surely the whole point of having lots of different designs is that somewhere there will be the right bass for everyone.

Otherwise we should all play Fender Precissions and be done with it.

100%, im going of people that ive seen commenting similar to the demo its not getting a sound they want or cant do a normal Jaguar sound

however in this studio pick the strings look in a similar spot and Mike doesnt seem to fussed

That was my feeling, the saddles appear to be offline

Re sig, not sure I agree, I doubt they've made a purposely misaligned instrument to meet the endorsed player's requirements?

But I think with a bit of a better setup those saddles I’m guessing that alignment won’t be an issue,

my comment on the sig was more down to the sound Mike Kerr wants will def not be what 90% of bassist want
